>DMC is on hold since the director wanted to make tolkien inspired RPGs
>bayonetta is as good as dead since platinum became shit and kamiya left
>ninja gaiden hasn't been alive for years and oatmeal san is making NFT games
>hi-fi rush was sabotaged on launch
well, did j-action have a good run?
>the director wanted to make tolkien inspired RPGs
huh?
>he doesn't want to see Gandalf do an air combo (with cancels and all)
NGMI
>hi-fi rush was sabotaged on launch
What?
Probably means how it had no marketing at all, then despite selling millions anyway Microsoft went "hmm this doesn't meet our expectations"
Eh whatever. These games should only be made when a bunch of people have a vision for something really cool. They barely work if they are released as sequels without a purpose
>bayonetta is as good as dead since platinum became shit and kamiya left
come again?
>oatmeal san is making NFT games
He bailed out of the NFT game. Holy shit. If you're going to shit on the man, don't use outdated shit.
there's like a dozen western indie and chinese cuhrayzee games and they're all practically vaporware
this looks more like bamham
you people call everything without endless juggling and air stalling "like bamham".
Anon above is a moron, but bamham is mainly neodymium magnet-tier attacks that just zip you straight to the target, so no need to worry about positioning. Turns out that 99% of action games do this.
Was this the one by ex ninja theory workers?
That's Enenra, and I don't think so.
name?
I think the third one is Genokids, there's a demo on Steam but I haven't tried it yet.
is this recent?
i played the demo some time ago and it looked mediocre
You can basically play any of these games forever. Why do we need a revolving door of constant releases?
If DMCV ever gets a decent modding scene, that'll probably be all you'll ever need.
>Not bad news
>Fake news
>Deranged news
>????????
Do you consider yourself special, OP?
You played one, you played them all
Nothing will ever top Itagaki's Ninja Gaiden games anyway.
That would be true if he ever found out how to make a half decent boss fight
>i-frames
>i-frames
>i-frames
Wow.
wtf is the point of these things? This some kind of pop quiz?
I mean, now that Dragon's Dogma 2 is out. They're probably working on DMC 6. I kind of wish they weren't though, I'd actually like to see a new take on the setting and mechanics of Mega Man, a third person shooter set in open stages with tasks you have to complete before you fight the Robot Master, and every weapon has some kind of utility in every stage, meaning there isn't necessarily one best order in which to play them. Ideally featuring and revolving around the setting and music of The Protomen.
Getting Itsuno to revitalise 3D Megaman, would be super interesting.
I think all you really need is kind of a fusion of Vanquish and Prince of Persia. Lots of dashing, lots of acrobatics. Could be pretty sick.
>They're probably working on DMC 6.
What the hell are they even going to do with 6?
The way the story has been going is that Nero is fully the main hero now, since Dante is trapped in hell.
Is that even a game people would want? I don't know.
I know Kamiya wanted to do a Prequel/DMC0 starring Sparda, but I dunno if Capcom would be interested.
I'm someone who actually really likes Nero (4 Nero specifically) but even I understand that he wouldn't be able to hold a game on his own. Dante and Vergil are going to be "trapped" for as long as they need to be but even then, what's a threat to any of then at this point? All three of them are style freaks who literally only lose to each other.
There's lots of different options.
They could have a Dante/Vergil game in Hell post-DMC5.
They could have a Sparda prequel.
They could have a DMC1 remake (not my personal choice but there's a strong possibility).
etc
I don't think Nero could carry a game by himself honestly. He works as an option but not a solo protagonist.
Funnily enough it seems like Vergil has become the most popular with normies since DMC5.
So it's a Gohan situation all over again?
The first thing that comes to mind for me is something like this.
Something big and evil living in Hell is planning an incursion into the mortal world, Dante and Vergil have to work together to undermine it from the inside while Nero deals with the consequences on the other side. It turns out that everything was set up to mirror the actions of Sparda up to and including what banished him from both worlds. This opens a temporary hole in reality which allows him to come back. But it turns out the reason Sparda disappeared in the first place was because of a corruptive influence reverting him to his native demonic nature, he sealed himself away in order to protect mankind. An immensely powerful Sparda threatens both Hell and the mortal world. Dante and Vergil have more interaction with each other than they ever have. It all facilitates character development on the part of Vergil, he comes to realize that his understanding of their past was flawed and that his lust for power is self defeating in the face of the true strength that comes from embracing his human heart. His dynamic with Sparda is a great and exaggerated mirroring of the dynamic which exists between himself and Nero.
i wish they made a "DMC Origins" game with Sparda as main character
and it would be a more serious game, similarly to DMC 1
>some big bad demon invades a city/there's a cult in some city ala dmc4
>boys show up and fight shit with new moves
It's not that hard really. It's not like every game needs massive story developments in the Sparda family or one up everything. Long as the bosses are cool and there's plenty of spectacle it's all good really.
>They're probably working on DMC 6.
i mean, itsuno showed interest many times in working on a fighting game, it's a possibility too
No, we're not getting DMC6 for another 10 years. Itsuno's next game is Rival Schools.
What's funny is Square keeps trying to turn FF into Action Games with FFVIIR and FFXVI, and it's not selling enough. I guess it's over for J-Action.
they're close to getting it down with 16. really hope they iterate on it but the FF fanbase is shit so they'll start from scratch for the next game
DMC6 is next, trust the plan.
just play dragons dogma
Vergil & Nero and Lady don't even exist in my DMC qanon.
Vergil would still exist, he'd just Nelo Angelo.
Contrarianism is only interesting if it's plausible.
It's up your butt & around the corner.
DMC2 and Blood 2 have so many similarities, and differences that it is kinda amazing, like some bastard and moronic yin and yang
it's not doing as bad as RTS
at least there are some indie games, team ninja acknowledging ninja gaiden, etc
in dmc6 they fight aliens
DMC doesn't need another game. 5 was kinda lackluster all things considered, but works as an epilogue to the franchise.
>5 was kinda lackluster
What a shit opinion.
I'm not saying it's bad. Just eh.
idk man I kinda like that they're few and far between, makes it a bit more special every time a new one drops. I'm still playing DMC5 (and others) every now and then even years after release since they're meant to be replayed forever so it's not like there's a dire need for a new one.
Verification not required.
>play itagaki's game expecting to fight tough enemies
>actually just end up fighting the squirrelly ass movement and camera controls
See the trick is that can do the quantiple troople dipple flipple on the dillydag and when it's up there you start pushing the gangglar that does the dillywip and then you can open them up with a little bit of flillyfloosh that makes them even more susceptible to the bom boms but only if you time it to the 10/th of the frame on the full moon of midnight.
Just press the buttons at the right time. That's all there is to it.
Say that to QTE haters
laughs in grenade launcher cancels
its basically indies, the rare AAA j-action game, or a bayo/DMC release every blue moon rn
>the rare AAA j-action game
>j-action
morons like you shouldn't wander away from Reddit anon
better than calling it character action, you fricking redditor
OP is gay
I'd say DD2 counts as j-action, same with Monster Hunter. They're just also RPGs. They both have far better combat than most other action RPGs.
DD combat is dogshit, just a slightly more cinematic Skyrim
Okay moron
>game has a spin flip attack
Yep... it's j-action kino time...
tf move is that? why does he have a clone?
Wild Furie is the Master skill for Mystic Spearhand, it's a big combo you summon a doppelganger for
