That doesn't change the fact it was delayed. A lot of delayed games end up being rushed final products. The Miyamoto quote implies that a delayed a game is delayed because time is spent polishing and fine tuning it but that simply isn't the case a large amount of the time. Delays usually happen because the development went poorly and the devs end up scrapping large amounts of work and cobbling together what they can once they can no longer push back a release.
