Do people really hate GO? I see so many mainline players shit on GO players and I don’t understand why… if anything GO works as an extension to mainline games as you can transfer Pokémon out of GO but not into it. Also there’s a huge GO only community, kind of like how there’s Pokémon fans who only watch the show or play the TCG but never play the mainline games. I think GO being as big as it is and potentially going to feature all Pokémon from every gen makes it a good thing

is this guy locked behind pokemon go or can i get him in a mainline game without playing pokemon go?
You can trade with people
He’s mainline exclusive and also the only mythical that evolves. Realistically pokemon GO has exclusive “forms” all those costume Pokémon are GO exclusive with the only ones being mainline compatible are the pikachu hat ones from the show
He’s GO exclusive *** you can also transfer meltan into LetsGo or SWSH but can only evolve it in GO. That’s pretty cool
but there’s no way to put the Meltan back into Go in order to evolve it into something actually usable
Game is shit and tedious.
Only middle aged women and children play it
It’s like the highest grossing mobile game…. And the only GO influencers I see on any social media platform are always grown men.
>Only middle aged women and children play it
and this is a problem how???
It's a lie. Anyone and everyone plays it
The breakout success of GO with a blue ocean audience is the direct cause for the state of modern Pokemon. LGPE was the first game to remove pokemon, remove moves, remove held items, force the exp share, ect.
>remove moves, remove held items
Removing needless bloat is a good thing
>LGPE was the first game to remove pokemon
RS did that way earlier
Also, other spin-offs like Pokkén Tournament don't have all of them either.
If you want want to blame shit on go, blame the dumb raids we now have now instead of real battle challenges on it.
>RS did that way earlier
Every Pokemon was programmed into the games. You could still trade them in from Colosseum/Gale or receive them via events. It was an unfortunate circumstance due to hardware limitations, but the only other alternative was making the RS regional dex the national dex.
>spin-offs
OP asked why mainline players hate GO. The conversation isn't about spinoffs.
On release, there were neither events nor any GC games.
Those and FRLGE came ocer a year after release.
>OP asked why mainline players hate GO.
And the post you replied to was a direct response to a post blaming LGPE for shit that has been present in the franchise forever.
>On release, there were neither events nor any GC games.
Does it matter? They handled it in the best way possible. What did you want them to do, bloat every route by quadrupling the encounter tables?
>blaming LGPE for shit that has been present in the franchise forever.
Again, we're not talking about the franchise as a whole. LGPE was created specifically to lure GO players into the mainline games. Subsequent games were made more like LGPE to accommodate those new players. Spinoffs never influenced the mainline games previously because GO was the first spinoff to eclipse the popularity of the main series.
LGPE were obviously made to get GO players into the mainline series not to change the mainline series completely since the Let's Go series was dropped despite having the perfect build up with a sequel that never happened.
Raids were bound to happen and yes they were introduced in GO first but were bound to come to mainline eventually. I don't think raid battles are an issue.... Maybe more fun modes involving them would be great but raids aren't a problem since they're optional
Does anyone play GO casually as a companion to mainline games?
PoGo brought people to watch PM2019 Anime back then, who has a main character of the same name like the game itself.
I think making that character was smart but dropping him along with ash was weird. I haven't seen the new anime but I know there's a boy and girl who are like the main characters. Does one represent mainline games and the other go?
>the new anime
PoGo people dropped that I assume because this new anime is plot based which focuses too much on the human OCs, pushing Pokemon to the sidelines (not much focus on catching mons)
>Does one represent mainline games and the other go?
Ash represent the battling aspect while Goh represent the catching aspect.
the game is fine (general mobileshit fomo problems notwithstanding) just that it drew pokemon back into the normie audience and now we all have to suffer as they cater to literal single-digit IQ dumbasses
