Yeah but it needs to have decent writing to not be boring. VNs are basically poorgay anime that pull off an audiovisual experience at the lowest cost possible.
Sex scenes, for one, also no harem shit or Bush dodging protagonists to keep the series going, so a complete product from start to end. Plotge like Fate and Dies Irae have branching patches early on so you get about 6 or 7 stories in one and you don't have to wait for them to come out.
The vn usually give choices and branching paths which are impossible to have with manga or anime. And often the anime or manga shorterns the story and sometimes completly skip over certain story arcs.
>The vn usually give choices and branching paths
No >which are impossible to have with manga or anime.
Wrong >And often the anime or manga shorterns the story and sometimes completly skip over certain story arcs.
Read a fricking book moron
>some VN are VN exclusive >its also nice to have options >its also nice to have a different change of pace >some find some stories so good that they want to consume every product
Was bewildered and thrown into a stupidity coma after playing Danganronpa. It's so idiotic I dropped the game on the second episode.
How do people tolerate this shit?
usually yes. oh boy i sure love running around large empty spaces doing boring generic side quests while looking for stupid collectibles over and over again. Most OW games are the same with a scenery/costume swap.
Reading Sekimeiya right now. Does the game actually ask me for answers at some point?
I see the notes and yeah the point is to solve the mystery but so far nothing has been prompted or anything, it's just progressing on its own
Granted I'm like 7 hours in but anyway
>just watch anime
Anime is in no way interactive. This also applies to manga. >just read manga
Manga doesn't have voice acting or nearly as much focus on individual characters. You can enjoy more than one medium.
Steins;Gate anime is serviceable but huge downgrade compared to VN
Other sci;adv game's anime is literal dogshit that's worse than S;G anime while some sci;adv game is absolute kino that's better than S;G game
Some stories are presented/paced a lot better in VN format and you're missing a lot for brushing them off as obsolete
yeah no. Kinetic Novels have no gameplay (no choices to make). Some VNs have branching paths based on choices (think choose your own adventure style). A few VNs expand on interactivity by incorporating puzzle sections or require you to think about the choices you make to unlock a new path. If the latter sound like your jam, try 999/Zero Escape, Dangan-Ronpa or 428 Shibuya Scramble.
how about they just play a VN?
VNs are better
A book had better writing
A manga has better art
An anime has motion and audio
A vn has...
Low budget
A book has a lower budget

Vns dont have audio and the visuals are 2 stills for each character and sloppy filter stock photo backgrounds your wrong and a pedophile
>vns don't have audio
>Vns dont have audio
homie what

Paths*
We're talking about VNs not hentai games and still haven't played one VN with these supposed branching routes or whatever.
Name one anime/manga that's like Zero Escape but better.
The vn usually give choices and branching paths which are impossible to have with manga or anime. And often the anime or manga shorterns the story and sometimes completly skip over certain story arcs.
Vns always have unnecessary padding

Frick me dude
If only the choices would actually be exciting. But from what I played it's either totally obvious or completely fricking random

newbies takes on VNs are always the dumbest shit ever.
I don't get why people get so mad about VNs. It's not like they're super popular like open world shit
>"open world" "shit"

VNs are just anime books with some interactivity.
>but aren't manga anime books?
No they're comic books that we pretend aren't.
yeah no. Kinetic Novels have no gameplay (no choices to make). Some VNs have branching paths based on choices (think choose your own adventure style).
