They definitely do.
Of course it's hard to find on /vp/ because everyone here is hyperbole incarnate.
10 years from now, you'll have the current young generation of kids grown up and fell in love with the series then. We've seen this happen with every generation up to this point. It's called the nostalgia cycle
>actually hype gym battles with the best gym theme to date >lots of pretty waifus >best and most polished looking game with let's go >marnie
My favourite new gen pokemon game
Best Pokémon games on the switch for sure, definitely my second favorite games in the entire series only losing to Emerald. I actually post this quite a lot in tier threads but everyone thinks I am trolling that I put these above Plat/HGSS/B2W2.
I posted in the tier maker thread as well, here's a post that explains my rationale:
[...]
I have other points that didn't make it in due to the character limit on posts but a few other things I didn't touch on: >Customization/Trainer Cards
Honestly this was a great way to keep records of people you communicate with since it was customizable and added to the whole "sports league" theming to the game. >the route/location design
A lot of people are just like "ewww gross Wild Area" but the individual routes and some of the other locations in the game looked really good and I enjoyed exploring them. Individual routes in the game also had curry encounters which netted you a special Pokemon with a mark which you can even bring into SV. I love stuff like that, and I previously mentioned in my other post that I really enjoy the mark system and how it added to the already known ribbon mechanic. >the Dynamax mechanic
While it wasn't great for singles, I actually really enjoyed it for doubles. This is because if a team had a certain type or if a Pokemon tended to carry the same couple of moves, you could reliably guess what archtype or overall goal an opponent was going for with what Pokemon they could potentially Dynamax. I am also warming up to Tera now that I have played more SV specifically, but Dynamax will always be my favorite gimmick.
People stopped pretending to like them to BTFO the people who were upset about the dexcut so now basically everybody admits they were just bad games in general
I replayed them recently, and honestly their my favorite among the 3D games. A solid six all around with great DLC. I also replayed XY before them so maybe that's clouding my judgment here, as they are so bad and worst of all boring.
>Do these games have fans?
Yes Hello! It's me thank you.
I really enjoyed SWSH and still do. However I admit I never got around to doing the DLC because I want too busy play other games when they were released.
Replaying SWSH + doing the DLC is on my "to do" list though
I actually enjoyed these games a lot. The graphics were substantially better than S/V, FPS drops were minimal. They definitely oversold the "open world multiplayer" aspect, and the amount of handholding/cutscenes sucked, but that's clearly not changing any time soon seeing what gen 9 does and it was less intrusive than gen 9 is now. It also felt like the biggest popularity spike VGC ever saw which is an indicator that they made strides with competitive accessibility. I also liked the DLC.
>It also felt like the biggest popularity spike VGC ever saw which is an indicator that they made strides with competitive accessibility
true, but please bring back the battle arenas. Those were so beautiful
Main story is meh but the DLC is pretty good
There are people that think they are just okay, but I haven't really heard of anyone that thinks they're like the best games in the series.
only better than lgpe and sv
They definitely do.

mark my words goddamn it i will NEVER accept XY as good games and I don't care how many zoolennials tell me otherwise!
> Zoolenials
I think you mean Zoomalphas only the youngest zoomers played xy as kids, the rest are the eldest gen alpha kids.
SwSh are the only games that I genuinely struggle to think of as to why they would ever be someone's actual #1 favorite game
Of course they do, just not anyone from /vp/
I liked it and I'm still pissed that the awesome battle arenas were changed to kindergarten arenas in gen 9. Like, what the actual frick man

why do you feel that way

I like the setting and art design, and the reinterpretation of the gym challenge as a pseudo-premier league was a good idea. That's about it

I like them
I think I played it the longest of any pokemon game outside of gen 3 and XY
Yes, they have fans, especially in Japan
yeah, but the fans of this game only like them for the pokegirls
I mean, they're better than Scarlet and Violet at least.
I like it despite its many shortcomings.

Its based because they live rent free in the heads of moronic video essay poketubers.
It has Marnie and Nessa, so someone got to enjoy them.
Not me, but someone else.

It has good female characters
