Moxley was actually concussed from a dive or something earlier. The ref was told to call an audible and count to 3, but ignored that to try the normal spot. Mox was pissed.
The audible would have been counting to 3 and letting Fenix win. Instead, the ref tried to treat it like a kick out, even though Mox was calling the audible to change the finish (he was likely planned to win the match originally) because he got concussed and knew he'd need time off to heal.
That's the main reason that clip is so shit, the ref not letting them call the audible smoothly and having Fenix hit another move to end it when Mox was already clearly concussed (which is why he held Mox so far up from the mat). I don't hate AEW but they absolutely should've fired that ref but they didn't because he's an old friend of the Bucks.

It's been obvious basically since the start of his AEW run that his retirement match will be putting over Darby. I wonder if they'll keep him in tag matches until then so they can market it as his first AEW singles on top of his retirement match or if they'll get some sort of dream match out of the way in the meantime.
38 years next month, so when he retires 38.5 years. Granted he worked very little between WCW & TNA and he was also gone for some years between the Rollins match in WWE and the AEW run. So his active years are probably closer to 30.
It's funny because AEW is just become what WCW was when it was running out of steam, a place for WWE to poach good talent from while their hasbeens go over to try and reclaim something of themselves.
WWE used to have segments that were basically these matches DDT did but as simple brawls and not official matches. Put a ref in that convenience store Stone Cold beat Booker T's ass in and boom, there you go. In fact, the cinematic match era of 2016 through the end of COVID had a bunch of matches that were kind of similar for better or worse like Stadium Stampede and Styles vs Taker Boneyard.

Kane has had good runs and his looks outside of the red scrotum mask were cool as frick but across his whole career he's been below average. The last time he was good was Team Hell No and only because it let him focus more on his character and comedy stuff. Abyss was a great worker, great character, good promo, and yet never got the TNA belt with his only NWA reign being the biggest fluke you could book while WWE at least gave Kane a small handful of world title reigns.
Abyss vs Styles in the cage is better than any singles match Kane's ever had.
Slowly moved to a backstage role as his bumps caught up to him, then WWE hired him as a backstage-only guy. He produces matches now. They let him go and get inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame this week though.

No, it is actually a very bad game and this is coming from someone who owned the game. I got it as a gift from my aunt who remembered that I played sonic games when I was younger. I appreciate the gesture, but the game is borderline unplayable because of the bugs. The actual game itself is very mediocre, but when you combine mediocre gameplay with bugs that genuinely are constantly impacting you it is unacceptable. I remember my 360 crashing while playing the game and I think it was the first time I ever had a console crash. Also, while I say the gameplay was mediocre I am referring to the platforming, because the stuff in the city is pretty bad. I was astounded that the game got released and when my aunt asked me if I liked the gift I told her that I really appreciated it but the developers released a game that wasn't finished and she said she was gonna write a letter to them and chastise them for doing that. I don't know if she ever did though or even understood what I meant when I said it was unfinished.
Going to a WWE event here in Germany in 2 days. Just recently started watching Smackdown and Raw again and I think it's fun. Not as much nonstop talking and drama as 5 years ago. Shinsuke Nakamura has some cool moves.

the match was fine outside of the finish, although all of the explosions were embarrassing from the start. i knew the ending was going to basically be exactly this when they went outside and did the first pyro spot. it's a shame they didn't run another one of these in wembley when they had the chance in the giant stadium, just with the real Terry Funk style explosions since they'd have the room.

What pro wrestling should be: Simulated fighting, with some exaggerated actions and occasional high spots for a good pop.
What a lot of modern pro wrestling is: Overly choreographed matches to the point that they are glorified stunt shows. A lot of the match tension is deflated too because you know it can't end until some dude lands his Nut Buster 9000.
Part of why Gunther is making waves and appeals to people is because his matches have a very old school style where it's just him beating the shit out of people and he can finish with any random thing. At the same time though he also adapts really well to other peoples styles and limitations and does a good job of putting them over despite beating them. He's been able to keep winning while still making his opponents look threatening because he's a good worker and understands ring psychology.
To be fair its a pretty great wrestling game, it just shouldn't be full price and should have more support than it has. As an actual video game it plays pretty great. Just needs an actual CAW mode. The one they have in game is indefensible honestly but thats my main gripe. I much prefer their storymode to WWE games.

No, it is actually a very bad game and this is coming from someone who owned the game. I got it as a gift from my aunt who remembered that I played sonic games when I was younger. I appreciate the gesture, but the game is borderline unplayable because of the bugs. The actual game itself is very mediocre, but when you combine mediocre gameplay with bugs that genuinely are constantly impacting you it is unacceptable. I remember my 360 crashing while playing the game and I think it was the first time I ever had a console crash. Also, while I say the gameplay was mediocre I am referring to the platforming, because the stuff in the city is pretty bad. I was astounded that the game got released and when my aunt asked me if I liked the gift I told her that I really appreciated it but the developers released a game that wasn't finished and she said she was gonna write a letter to them and chastise them for doing that. I don't know if she ever did though or even understood what I meant when I said it was unfinished.

the match was fine outside of the finish, although all of the explosions were embarrassing from the start. i knew the ending was going to basically be exactly this when they went outside and did the first pyro spot. it's a shame they didn't run another one of these in wembley when they had the chance in the giant stadium, just with the real Terry Funk style explosions since they'd have the room.

What pro wrestling should be: Simulated fighting, with some exaggerated actions and occasional high spots for a good pop.
What a lot of modern pro wrestling is: Overly choreographed matches to the point that they are glorified stunt shows. A lot of the match tension is deflated too because you know it can't end until some dude lands his Nut Buster 9000.
Part of why Gunther is making waves and appeals to people is because his matches have a very old school style where it's just him beating the shit out of people and he can finish with any random thing. At the same time though he also adapts really well to other peoples styles and limitations and does a good job of putting them over despite beating them. He's been able to keep winning while still making his opponents look threatening because he's a good worker and understands ring psychology.
