Although tags are shit anyways, if you block Card Game then Card-Game will still show up. And you'll block good shit like witcher and ff8 that have card minigames.

Metroid, Portal, The Longest Journey, A Hat in Time, Half-Life: Alyx are all technically games with female protagonists and all considered classics. You're missing out on some good games with this filter.
And that's why I don't do blacklists. I like to consider the games on a case-by-case basis and don't have a desire to just lose entire genres. If I don't like the game, then I just leave the page and move on.
Tags in particular can be overly general on Steam. I'm like half-sure that any game with a lot of dialogue and anime-style cutout portraits can get a "Visual Novel" on Steam now, even if the rest of the game is hardcore FPS or hack'n'slash or whatever.

That's what I said above. If the game is a real game but for cutscenes they have dialogue like a visual novel that fricking tag will show up. Good rpgs and dungeon crawlers are getting that tag now. It's the same point I was making about having a minigame card game inside the real game and being marked as a card battle.

If you make a game appeal to me even if it's in a genre I don't normally play I will try it out.
If I only played things I was used to already playing and knew I'd probably like it this hobby would get a bit stale. Trying new stuff keeps it fresh, though I will sometimes overdo it by getting hooked on say a series of JRPGs then playing them all in order.
