Heres another cool map I found
Where's is Hisui?
>Where's is Hisui?
See: Sinnoh.
Ransei sticks out like a sore thumb
I prefer Unova, Orre and Alola to be a bit closer, and I'm not feeling that spiral river to the north, but I like this one.
I also get the impression that this is just the northern hemisphere, which is an odd choice but given that there isn't a region with a colder location to the south it makes sense.
Amogus
Its kinda weird we've never gotten a southern hemisphere region EVER, even in a spinoff
Amogus
>galar is the island of Britian upside-down.
They're inspired by the real world regions. they're not analogous to them outside Japan.
The map of Hoenn is Kyushu rotated 90°. Britain being rotated 180° isn't a big dead.
DEAD?
They are already confirmed to be matching to real world locations. The only non confirmed thing is that Kalos, galar and paldea are close. Though in paldea its referenced that unova is distant so it still comes together. I wish theyd do more references to geography in this sense, in 3 european regions they practically never reference each other as far as i remember. they only mention unova
actually if i recall correctly theres a guy in paldea that implues kalos is very close to it. im not sure
i would certainly hope it's close considering it's the northeast border of the region
Going by the anime Kanto, Johto and Sinnoh/ Hisui share a continent. I believe the cast spent a few episodes at the SinJo border which separates Johto from Sinnoh.
I assume that Paldea and Kalos share a continent. Galar is probably nearby.
Alola is closest to Kanto and Unova.
Kitamaki is hard to place. Its accessible from Paldea and presumably Unova, but has influences from Sinnoh and Johto. Possibly on the same continent as Kanto, Sinnoh, and Johto?
Alola is explicitly said to be extremely far from Kanto, just like Hawaii is from Kanto, Japan. And every time you move from a region to another in SV you have to take a plane so no, Kitakami isn't "accessible" from Paldea and Unova, not more accessible than any other region with an airport at least.
Kitakami is also based on irl Kitakami and the region around it btw, it's obviously south of Sinnoh, Perrin's quest even explains you the Ursaluna you find there came swimming from Sinnoh long ago.
Hoenn too, hence why they continue the route numbers. I dont think theyre even in the same continent but in the same country
Kitakami is obviously either sinnoh or johto. it has johto music and sinnoh locations. could also be between the 2
Kitakami might be part of the new gen 10 region. I've been theorizing that gen 10 goes back to a japan inspired region and it would fit since they don't say where Kitakami is, despite being obviously japanese. They would've said so if it was in a previous region, just like blueberry academy is in Unova.
The anime makes it pretty clear that Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh are close to each other (Ash travels between them by boat), but far away from Unova, Kalos and Alola (Ash travels to them by plane)
Considering the Bloodmoon Ursaluna, I think Kitakami might be an island off the coast of Sinnoh.
It's mainland Japan, specificlaly Kitakami.
If its exactly where sinnoh and kitakami are IRL, it still makes sense (which is northern Japan on Hokkaido and mainland Japan)
>They are already confirmed to be matching to real world locations.
Not really, only that the 4 japan regions are roughly where they belong IRL, and even then Hoenn is known to be rotated(and there's no "mainland" to be seen on its map).
>in 3 european regions they practically never reference each other as far as i remember
Paldea has many Galar references, Penny herself comes from there.
You can tell an american did this map
Lol i remember when a guy that made a shitty fanmade world map and then people went on claiming that the map was canonized because in oras you can see an extremely blurry map very hardly reaembling the fanmade one. They even said the map was the exact same image put in oras, but it takes 1 second to notice this isnt true
Wasn't it serebii?
yes and it’s called PokéEarth
I only remember an animated special with Steven, a hologram of the Earth appeared and you could see that it was the same as ours.
It was the Megaevolution special, which is actually part of the Ashnime continuity
>It's an alternate version of our world, end of discussion
Hey look, Paldea.
Damn those trips from Paldea to Blueberry Academy (also the ones to Kitakami) must be so tiring
>That foreshadowing
They could have focused on North America as a movie cliche or on France where the series focused.
>Es enorme!
Yeah, that's exactly what she said
This thing is canon
Poke Africa when?
Only first world countries, anon. Why do you think latinx cry over Paldea? Because they know Spain is the closest thing to latinamerica they will ever get
The only people who cry are those who get offended every time someone points out that Nemona looks like a Latina.
But anon, Nemona IS a latina. Latinaeuropea to be precise, the ancestors of the latinoamericanos that invated the US
>Pokemon Africa there and still no Egypt region
Its sad how there's still no region in the southern hemisphere yet, maybe they're saving it for something special
There's never going to be a 3rd world region so your only hope is New Zealand.
>There's never going to be a 3rd world region
But we already have Unova....?
Nips don't even know you can lose your house and entire life if you get hospitalized in USA, it's a first world country for them
Wait! Foreigner here, I thought that all Americans had a universal healthcare system, you watch shows like House, ER, Good Doctor, and they serve both rich and poor and no one ever shows up complaining about the costs or a doctor saying "You're poor, get out of here"
I know the series is fictional, but I hoped it would reflect something of their reality.
>I thought that all Americans had a universal healthcare system
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA god please tell me this is a joke
Yes, but no one understands his punchline
Because those are medical shows, not billing shows. Also, if you're working full time, your employer provides insurance. Only non-working scum and part time losers are left to suffer. The true dregs of society.
What happens if companies start only hiring part-time workers to save on health insurance and other benefits? It is not illegal, and they would never lack workers since there would always be someone who would accept those conditions and take your place, whether due to youth, inexperience, or due to the competitive labor market.
Don't worry bro job insurance covers like less than 500$ in a country where you pay thousands if you get hospitalized, it's literally nothing kek
what happens is everyone gets screwed and hates the system and nothing changes because businesses run the government. welcome to america, it's exactly as horrible as it sounds.
It is a first world country. You have no idea how good you have and are blinded by your healthcare fetish.
>have an accident
>go to the hospital
>but in an uber because the ambulance is too expensive
>check the bill
>lose your home
>be happy at least you don't have an illness so your son won't be forced to pay after you die
Try not being a Black person.
Try being a first world country first, america, people want to live.
I'm not american, which is why I actually understand how good you have it.
The only way you can have it worse is by being from a literal poor country so sorry for you I guess
Please understand, the american goverment is too busy paying for the semen of killed israeli soldiers so palestinians can keep being killed lol
LEL
>hardly
It looks the same but mirrored and inverted
What do you mean?
matching Earth's continents this looks moronic
Kalos is apparently on the same landmass as Unova tho
it absolutely is not though
No it's not you fricking moron, they've had some relations to Unova in the past (probably a reference to New York's most iconic landscape being actually a french gift) but nothing has ever indicated they are in the same continent.
Yeah, it's not
>Galar connected to Kalos
Nice headcanon
they're connected in real life why not in pokemon
Where the frick is Kitakami
in kitakami, the actual place in japan
and is that closer to johto or sinnoh?
I imagine it as something that can't be put on a map since they add new places avery few years. Most of the map makers always try to fit and connect everything when it doesn't really make sense since there are always going to be parts of the world that we don't see.
But yes, i imagine the places that are supposed to be parts of japan to be close to each other, same goes with the europe regions and so on.
Also i don't consider the anime exclusive locationx, the gacha shit and most of the spin offs to be canon (a lot of the times the games straight up tells you they are set in another world).
So the way i see it is more like an equivalent to the real world of which we haven't seen all but also that doesn't need to be 1:1 to the real thing. So for me it goes like this:
>Japan so far
Kanto and the Sevii Island
Johto
Hoenn
Sinnoh
whatever region Kitakami is located in, assuming its not considered a region on itself
Fiore
Almia
Oblivia
>Europe so far:
Kalos
Galar
Paldea
>US so far:
Orre
Unova
and Alola being distant just like the irl inspiration
>Miscellanus/Unknown
Ferrum (Japan?)
Lental and Pokemon Island
White City
Peketopia
the region in which Ryme City is located (US?)
Pretty much this. Trying to make a connected map is useless.
i think you're forgetting something
Sakhalin is Japan, let's see those morons try and take it back
>following the Russo-Japanese War, the island was divided, with Southern Sakhalin going to Japan. Russia has held all of the island since seizing the Japanese portion in the final days of World War II in 1945, as well as all of the Kurils. Japan no longer claims any of Sakhalin, although it does still claim the southern Kuril Islands.
Dude, what year do you live in? Sakhalin has been owned by Russia for more than 50 years.
Russia ain't got the military to defend it, now is Nihon's chance to take it back
>Article 9 of the Japanese Constitution contains “No war” clause. It came into effect on May 3, 1947, immediately after World War II. The text of the article of the Japanese Government formally renounce war as a right of sovereignty and the refuses to settle disputes using military force.
So let's set up a draft, ain't like them cucks are frickin' anyways
Дo cвидaния
HAha, you may try, but we know you aint got no weapons.
What if they make a PMC to take over the island for them and use state corruption to finance them?
Lental are an exaggerated version of the Galapagos Islands
>Florio Island = Floreana Island
Name sounds evocatively similar, and it's shape is not unlike the real island.
>Belusylva Island = Isabela Island
A similar case of being reminiscent of the real island's shape and name.
>Maricopia Islands = Santa Cruz Island (Galápagos)
This bay has a preserved beach, notable for its abundance of aquatic life.
>Voluca Island = Santiago Island
Similar to what appears in the map art for Voluca, this island contains two overlapping volcanoes.
>Durice Island = San Cristóbal Island
Contains the freshwater lake El Junco. It is made up of several extinct volcanoes.
>Aurus Island = Española Island
One of the smaller islands, the most southerly, and is thought one of the oldest geographically.
>spanish Galápagos islands
>gimmick is pokemon's glittering glow
YOU MOTHERFRICKER
White City and Poketopia can be considered private islands. White City in particular must be artificial.
You need to add Ferrum, Pasio, and the Aeos islands.
Pasio is an artificial island, but given that it was made by a billionaire family and that the prince's Main Pokemon is a D'jinn, it is very likely that it was inspired by the artificial Palm islands in Dubai.
Ferrum is on the list. Anon said he wasn't counting the gacha shit
>Ferrum (Japan?)
Apparently Ferrum is based off the Iriomote Island, so yes it is yet another Japan region.
Ryme City is a mix, dunno where it could fit. The rest are islands and as other anons already said they could as well be the Galapagos for the Snap games and artificial/private islands for Stadium and BR.
I imagine it being similar, but not 1:1.
Every region is shaped like a part of Earth, so the whole world likely looks like Earth
Real world honestly.
add poketopia (Las vegas), Carmonte Island (Monte Carlo) and Mysterious continent (a mix of South of Mexico, Costa rica, Peru, Chile, and Argentina)
>Carmonte
really creative
They basically amalgamated pre-Columbian America, clever bastards.
A region with few inhabited ports and with high level Pokemon and a lot of ruins and temples full of treasures and dangers, what GF expects? that's perfect for a Spinoff.
You don't need a large developer team, you could even do it with a retro style and more than a story, do it in a way that is a great challenge, for example a limited group of Pokemon that you can only rent in the ports and that the wild Pokemon only work as enemies and bosses (Because for some weird phenomenon the Pokeballs do not work in that region)
The story is simple, you are a young trainer at the beginning of the 20th century, someone has offered an exorbitant reward for capturing the mythical Mew, you take a hydroplane and begin your adventure.
>The story is simple, you are a young trainer at the beginning of the 20th century, someone has offered an exorbitant reward for capturing the mythical Mew, you take a hydroplane and begin your adventure.
Would be kino, I always hoped there'd be a game that would explore a South American region after it being mentioned in R/B/Y
It even has the perfect excuse to make that a retro game
Now we know why Jessie's mother died, in Pokeworld South America is still an almost unexplored and dangerous land, she probably ended up murdered by a Zarude troop.
There you go.
Nice
Just as a curious fact in RG a scientist mentions that Silph.co has a branch in Ponaya Tunguska (Tiksi for the American versions) this region is based on the real Podkamennaya Tunguska in the north of Russia.
It clearly resembles ours but not a 1:1.
Are Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh different countries or just regions/provinces of a whole country?
I think regions may be synonymous for countries in the pokemon world. Kanto and Paldea both are called regions yet IRL Kanto is a small part of a country and Spain is a whole country. Paldea also includes Portugal too so maybe that changes things. I'm not opposed to the idea of the regions being part of larger country though.
It isn’t clear at all
How often do we even see any national governments? In X and Y it’s mentioned Kalos had a King in the past and had wars, Galar had two kings, and Paldea had an Empire
That pic ain't too far off from our world
While like the idea of the world of pokemon being sort of utopian, like the idea more of shithole countries like Orre existing so they can be the designated enemy nation that people like LT surge fought against in that so called war. Too bad Nintendo will never allow region ruled by evil people in the main line.
kino
Here is a better map of Pokemon World
best map i've ever seen, shame it's outdated. seems like kitakami must be right next to the sinjoh ruins, interesting.
Follow up
>pasio in denmark
this one's a bit of a miss, still really cool though
I was gonna say Paldea looks empty but when I remember the white lines are actually the parts you CAN explore in other regions and the rest is out of bounds it pretty much makes it mog the rest
Paldea IS empty.
lmao keep telling yourself that as you return to your railroads
The guy put the "Stadium Island" next to White City but those are literally the same island.
Also i guess he went with Ferrum being inspired by Sardinia, but that's not the side it is supposed to be on
Johto and Sinnoh share a border or are very close.
no, they don't. they have cultural exchange, it has nothing to do with proximity.
Explain the Sinjoh Ruins.
not in either region, they're north of johto and south of sinnoh.
So Kitakami?
Bullshit map aside, when this was originally posted I saw a dangerous amount of people seeminlgy unnaware that Guyana was at some point in the main games (the very first one)
They will not survive the winter
i was under the impression this was also the case in FRLG, did they change that line?
>NEW LOCATION
Place your bets guys, the Pok-Bahamas or Poke-Fiji?
California
You're probably right with either of those but I'll just say "Florida" cause that might be possible too
Maybe, only the protagonist is Japanese, the other two employees have American names.
second for florida, honestly. seems fairly close to unova like
said, the monkeys aren't available anywhere else are they?
This smells Unova
ybs
Found this fair attempt at mapping the pokemon Japan nation.
Pity it's missing Iriomote Island / Ferrum, but otherwise pretty neat.
Kalos and Unova are confirmed to be part of the nation and Hoenn is rotated there.
Kalos and Unova aren't in the same island, moron
I agree with this anon. I want pokemon to be parallel version of this world. I don't want pokeworld France and United States anywhere near each other.
For that to work you have to ignore tons of official material and also criticize the multiple fanfic maps posted in this thread.
Anon said "nation", not "Island".
In fact, the pic has multiple islands and even the real Japan is composed of more than one island.
Not a single official source has ever put Unova and/or Kalos close to the country where the first four gens are located
I never said that. Learn to read.
Fiore is wrong.
>Hoenn is rotated there.
So what?
>So what?
Means its not coherent with what we see in-game.
moron. Rotating a map doesn't change shit. It's just a convenience for it to be easy to see in-game.
Look at the opening scene of deelta episode with the scientists, its confirmed the map you see in-game isn't rotated.
It's still the same shit. GF won't want to confuse the dumb kids by showing a different Hoenn map. It's the same reason the anime other material also use the rotation.
>gF won't want to confuse the dumb kids by showing a different Hoenn map.
The map wasn't shown in the dialogue.
Kids wont be confused, they have better reading comprehension skills than realgays.
>ashnime
kek
>the anime other material
the annime and other material
>The map wasn't shown in the dialogue.
And?
>Kids wont be confused
GF and TPC believes they will.
>And?
In order to "show a different Hoenn map" you have to show a Hoenn map.
>GF and TPC believes they will.
If they thought kids couldn't handle such a simple sentence then they wouldn't have put it in at all.
Yet, they did.
Hisui was rotated too. Doesn't mean it changed position over the years.
>Hisui was rotated too.
Source?
look at the official art
The one that isn't a map? Done.
Perfect. Now find a mirror, look at yourself and cry for how much of an autistic moron you are.
You followed my orders pretty easily before, this shouldn't be that hard either even for a mongoloid such as you, idiot.
>Fiore is wrong
where should it be?
almia is waaaaay too big here
The Ranger games are kind of fricked because Oblivia was said to beto the far south of the other games when IRL geography puts it north of Fiore.
Though Fiore doesn't really fit anywhere. Summerland being Shodoshima is a huge stretch.
>be a realgay
>doesn't even get what cardinal points are
>get mad
always funny to see greentexts that aren't quoting any message in particular since the whole thread BTFO you anyways. Really shows how much seethe lies behind.
> the whole thread BTFO you anyways
realgays couldn't present a single argument so no.
Not to mention the "whole thread" includes multiple maps that actually do differ from the real world.
>seethe
literally two posts above the one you're replying to.
>he is still going
lmao poor mongoloid can't stop crying.
>literally two posts above the one you're replying to.
How am i supposed to know, autistic frick?
so why you didn't replied to it? were you afraid to actually directly reply or are you just too dumb?
Because it was fricking obvious in context.
Then again, I supposed its my mistake for expecting a realgay to have basic reading comprehension skills.
> autistic frick
Sure, and getting mad because a fictional setting is fictional is completely healthy.
>"uuuuur durrrrr"
Sorry, i don't speak moron.
Don't worry, I already knew you can't read.
>"uurr durr braaaap"
Whatever you say, you are so special.
>Because it was fricking obvious in context.
What was the context? You being a coward seething mongoloid who couldn't even dare to reply to the anon he wanted to talk to? Yes, makes sense now that you explained it. Thanks.
>What was the context?
The discussion where you claim is was "BTFO".
I was*
>the context was mean people hurt my fee fee
Thanks for confirming i was right when i wrote this
So easy to make moron confess. Oh well. Thanks for the entertainment, sperg.
>the context was mean people hurt my fee fee
You're the one that's so butthurt he replied to a post more than 12 hours later bro.
>The basic geography of the Pokémon world is a 1:1 copy of the real world
>There may be differences on a smaller level, for example every region after Johto MUST have a tiny desert.
>Real world names like Japan also apply to the corresponding area of the Pokémon world
>However it's unconfirmed if Poké-Japan just describes a landmass or is also a sovereign state.
>However it's unconfirmed if Poké-Japan just describes a landmass or is also a sovereign state.
"Poké-Japan" is 100% a realgay fanon term, its was never used in any official capacity.
