zamazenta, because of the defense boost it gets from its ability + it quad resists. However, that's assuming that rampardos is just shotgunning headsmash and the opponent has been allowed no set up. I'm also just kind of assuming it's a single battle because if it were doubles then there would be too many possible answers.
wrong. the actual numerical damage inflicted is higher than 1. it's like you detonating a bomb inside a paper box. the box is obliterated because its HP is low but the actual numerical damage caused is higher. the correct answer is shuckle.
Actually Zamazenta’s ability is t a boost to its defense stat like fluffy or something, it gives it +1 defense stage when it’s sent out. It keeps that benefit even if it’s ability is nullified.
>raw damage
That means the HP doesn't matter at all though
Damage is calculated by defense, so the HP stat plays no role in how much damage in raw numbers you take
Meaning there's no difference between a Steelix and a Steelix with more HP, right?
It says numerical damage, not percentage. The minimum damage an attack can do is 1. With Shedinja you're guaranteed it will only do 1 damage. With Steelix even with Blissey's HP, some damage rolls could do 3 for example.
>it's le blissey guyzzz
Minimum damage 47. Suck my wiener. And yes, I've set Steelix's Base HP to 255, to simulate a Blissey that transformed to Steelix.
You would have to lower Rampardos's level. The lowest legal possible is 30 and even then it still takes 5 damage.
So Shedinja with just 1 damage is the answer. Again suck my wiener.
it takes zero damage, anon.
not one, zero.
this is evidenced by the fact that in gen 5, any move's secondary effects do not apply to a sturdy shedinja as they aren't considered to have hit.
this was later changed in gen 6 specifically for the edge case of sturdy shedinja.

negative damage baby woo
Okay first Mold breaker and second the damage to blissey is less than 1.

>less than 1
where you gettin that from, anon?
252+ Atk Choice Band Rampardos Head Smash vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Blissey transformed into Steelix: 52-61 (7.2 - 8.5%) -- possibly the worst move ever
Possible damage amounts: (52, 52, 53, 54, 54, 55, 55, 56, 57, 57, 58, 58, 59, 60, 60, 61)
It's Shedinja unless you want to frick around with levels and start "what if the other thing has Iron Defense and is level 100 and Rampardos is minimally leveled and has Charm on it and rolls minimum damage."
Partially correct. Since Mimikyu's ability completely negated the raw damage calculation, it is correctbfor Round 1, at least. Same can be said for Eisque
the only true answer is eternamax eternatus with its defense stat at the overflow value. (655 for those not in the know)
overflowing during damage calculation causes a divide-by-zero operation, and as a failsafe the game sets the taken damage to exactly 1.
this applies to any and all physical attacks regardless of abilities, type effectiveness, stat changes, or critical hits.
OP from the other thread here.
got this from twitter originally.
From the tweet, the answer is
"We guessed this
they both take 1
but as far as the raw calculation goes, steelix technically takes less than one and it rounds up to one
idk that's what they said lol"
>1 over 10 is 10% >1 over 100 is 1% >this would be all well and good and actually relevant to the topic at hand if the question was asking about damage as a percentage of max hp INSTEAD OF RAW DAMAGE NUMBERS.
The question right now is, the "raw numerical damage" mentioned is calculated onto HP or calculated over HP? There's a lot of difference there. If onto HP, then Shedinja would be correct in most situation. If over and behind HP, then, Eternamax Eternatus would be the most correct answer. I don't understand the whole Blissteelix thing is all about. Ambiguous questions like this always spawn the most moronic answers

actually wait, nevermind, the answer is shedinja
bug is weak to rock anon
shed is weak to rock and only has 1 hp. Therefore, rock smash would hit, kill it, and deal only a single point of damage.
The question does not point out if the pokemon has to survive the hit or not.

Shuckle gets more damage because he's a bug bro, it's Steelix/Regirock or Stakataka if you're a queer.
0 is not an actual number
every day you frickers manage to find new lows are you fricking moronic
>zamazenta, because of the defense boost it gets from its ability
It's Rampardos specifically so you can ignore abilities because of his Mold Breaker.
Mold Breaker doesn't work like that.
Actually Zamazenta’s ability is t a boost to its defense stat like fluffy or something, it gives it +1 defense stage when it’s sent out. It keeps that benefit even if it’s ability is nullified.
Shuckle
I wish this was the actual answer
The actual answer is Blissey using mimic and transforming into a Steelix btw
Steelix.
Apparently the correct answer is Blissey using Mimic to learn Transform, and then transforming into Steelix
booo
if the question is about raw numerical damage then what is the difference between a blissey transformed into steelix and a regular steelix?
Nothing, its a fake image
Raw damage is just the number that goes down from its hp transform doesn't copy the HP stat so it's using blissey's HP
>raw damage
That means the HP doesn't matter at all though
Damage is calculated by defense, so the HP stat plays no role in how much damage in raw numbers you take
Meaning there's no difference between a Steelix and a Steelix with more HP, right?
Why would it be different from a real Steelix? I thought this was specifically asking for no percentages so total health doesn't matter.
Transform keeps your HP. Blissey's HP stat is significantly higher than Steelix's.
It says numerical damage, not percentage. The minimum damage an attack can do is 1. With Shedinja you're guaranteed it will only do 1 damage. With Steelix even with Blissey's HP, some damage rolls could do 3 for example.

So Shedinja with just 1 damage is the answer. Again suck my wiener.
OP said raw numerical damage, not HP damage. Learn to read
HP has nothing to do with the question because
If it is, then Shedinja would be correct.
sash shedinja, zero damage.
No items
sturdy shedinja, then. exactly the same.
Shedninja can't get sturdy if we can just make up things I can say Pikachu with 255 in every base stat
shedinja can be given sturdy with entrainment, and doing so is a lot less convoluted than the given answer with a transformed blissey.
Read the question, slowly and properly this time
it takes zero damage, anon.
not one, zero.
this is evidenced by the fact that in gen 5, any move's secondary effects do not apply to a sturdy shedinja as they aren't considered to have hit.

Read the question again.
Dumbass.
Stakataka then. Steelix if Mega. Regular Steelix base Def stat is less than Stakataka
It's Shedinja unless you want to frick around with levels and start "what if the other thing has Iron Defense and is level 100 and Rampardos is minimally leveled and has Charm on it and rolls minimum damage."
Mimikyu is also an answer.
Partially correct. Since Mimikyu's ability completely negated the raw damage calculation, it is correctbfor Round 1, at least. Same can be said for Eisque
weedle using protect, final answer.
>tfw posting in a stealth compgay containment thread
WHY DOES THE TRANSFORM MATTER
the only true answer is eternamax eternatus with its defense stat at the overflow value. (655 for those not in the know)
overflowing during damage calculation causes a divide-by-zero operation, and as a failsafe the game sets the taken damage to exactly 1.
this applies to any and all physical attacks regardless of abilities, type effectiveness, stat changes, or critical hits.
I was about to say Eternamax too but cautious because gimmick answer might not be tolerable
any pokemon can take the least numerical amount of damage from this move since head smash can miss dealing 0 damage
Tera Ground Heliolisk using Electrify to turn Head Smash into an Electric-Type move.
Damage: 0.
sorry your answer is too smart for OP so it's wrong 🙂
>scatvomit answer
Trashed
actually heliolisk isn't in SV so it's a pokemon showdown answer
If you want to be like that, Heliolisk learns Camouflage and can use that to become Ground Type in gens 6-7, resulting in the same scenario.
