The lvl 70 ultimates are kinda whatever as far as the DPS checks go, but mitigation issues can still get you. It matters less if you have good healers, although I guess WHM has no mit either.
It's just the few spots where you can't heal enough to stop everyone from dying, and people might be forced to be out of range too and so on. Besides, partywide mit is much better than relying on the caster to remember to use their Addle, especially since boss targeted mits don't even work for everything.

MoN is literally why jumping in and aoe/CC everyone is a bad idea against a WHM and is also an important counter play.
RPR and DNC have the ability to CC multiple people with their LB and they can't be purified either, so why can't a single target CC with a 30sec CD cannot exist either?
Like I said it's an important shutting down tool and I think it's a good idea for the game meta to have something like this in it.
And also, I personally like Salted Earth, it's a fun tool as well (webm related), but all I'm saying is that it's a balancing nightmare right now because it's perfectly fine in a game like CC, but in Frontline and Rival Wing it completely break the game and I would understand if SE would just ditch it in 7.0 for another kind of DRK ability.

Because those CCs are LBs, while the whitemage one is a regular ability that instantly casts, and with proper timing (or cheat plug-ins), can invalidate almost any enemy LB just because the white mage was nearby.

6.1-6.5 is setup to be an alternative starting point for new players.

TP was shit but the devs fricking up MP was un-needed to the point where they actually patched MP management back in at EW release for some casters (if you count pressing Lucid one extra time per battle "managment" I guess)
I'd like to have it back in some regards to all casters in the game but that will never happend since MP has been made static so there is nothing to really manage other than pressing Lucid when you get close to 50%. The job bars are also meant to be a complete replacement of any resource management but since every single one of them is builder/spender that is also a moot point since they made it extremely rigid come ShB and already started that transformation in SB with their balance changes.
The 2-min meta also makes it almost impossible for any class that gets any benefit from group buffs/self buffs which also rules out pretty much everyone but Healers. Even if I want it back I just don't see how they'd manage to pull it off without a rework of every jobs resources and maybe even a minor rework on how stats works, like making piety affect every job or something

You get an extra action under your instance timer when a rabbit is following you to use a carrot and it will give you vague directions as to where the chest is.

Content in this game is invalidated the minute it is off patch. Eureka has echo, Bozja has echo, Savage gets giga echo + unsync, extremes get echo and extra gear or unsync. Even ultimates get dungeon gear when off-patch for a marginal upgrade.

Because it still got nerfed when off patch. Hell even casual trials and alliance raids get nerfed by gear or outright echo too. Look at Endsinger or Aglaia with current gear, or the Orbonne echo.

I've turned the shadows of other players and NPCs off in the settings, I play the game on a relative potato laptop.
I will probably have to upgrade if I want to play Dawntrail. I'm not 100% sure I do.
FFXIV is the kind of game where either you raid or you're a fairweather expansion release player. I don't even dislike those who come in for a month, play the story and leave. They're getting the best experience overall

If you take the time to get to know where you can find quite a lot. Balmung has fallen unfortunately because with successive waves of WoWfugees and other scum it got coopted by people that want it to be Goldshire 2.0, not say there was never degenerate shit but it's gotten out of hand. When Balmung exploded back in Heavenward a lot of people went to Mateus or retreated in to private settings that are advertized pretty openly if you want to engage with them.

Join a low hours decent team. If you are good at the game and play with people good at the game you could easily do each ultimate in less than a month at 8 hours a week, except arguably TOP.
Im a shift worker so I cant commit to even 1 fixed day, I can only clear adhoc in PF (if I have the time+energy)
I think I just need to change jobs IRL or retire before I can actually enjoy this game the way I want

What the second Anon said replying to you but also because there's a genuine stigma around tanking but I would say in FFXIV the job basically plays itself. There's no aggro management at all. It does however require you to know the mechanics of the dungeon to position things in harder fights but most duty roulettes don't really require that.

The lvl 70 ultimates are kinda whatever as far as the DPS checks go, but mitigation issues can still get you. It matters less if you have good healers, although I guess WHM has no mit either.

It's just the few spots where you can't heal enough to stop everyone from dying, and people might be forced to be out of range too and so on. Besides, partywide mit is much better than relying on the caster to remember to use their Addle, especially since boss targeted mits don't even work for everything.
It's not the end of the world. GNB does everything better at 70 but if you enjoy DRK go for it.

MoN is literally why jumping in and aoe/CC everyone is a bad idea against a WHM and is also an important counter play.
RPR and DNC have the ability to CC multiple people with their LB and they can't be purified either, so why can't a single target CC with a 30sec CD cannot exist either?
Like I said it's an important shutting down tool and I think it's a good idea for the game meta to have something like this in it.
And also, I personally like Salted Earth, it's a fun tool as well (webm related), but all I'm saying is that it's a balancing nightmare right now because it's perfectly fine in a game like CC, but in Frontline and Rival Wing it completely break the game and I would understand if SE would just ditch it in 7.0 for another kind of DRK ability.
Just change Salted so it only succs 10 or 5 or whatever closest people. There's your nerf and you'll never see any DRKs in Frontlines ever again.

Because those CCs are LBs, while the whitemage one is a regular ability that instantly casts, and with proper timing (or cheat plug-ins), can invalidate almost any enemy LB just because the white mage was nearby.

It's also wierd af pacing because you get the big ass climactic finale of 6.0, then you get told relaxing times are ahead and get some with 6.1, then shit gets intense again all of a sudden in 6.2-5, then now we already know 7.0 is also going to be relaxing times? This is a fricking XIV OVA.
6.1-6.5 is setup to be an alternative starting point for new players.
It’s written to “reintroduce” the Scions and is vague about prior events, other than that your character saved the world.
Plus the new codex to summarize the character and lore details.

TP was just a remnant of 1.0, ARR didn't need it either.
TP was shit but the devs fricking up MP was un-needed to the point where they actually patched MP management back in at EW release for some casters (if you count pressing Lucid one extra time per battle "managment" I guess)
MP management would be easy to bring back for WHM: just give Lost Seraph Strike as a lvl 100 ability.
I'd like to have it back in some regards to all casters in the game but that will never happend since MP has been made static so there is nothing to really manage other than pressing Lucid when you get close to 50%. The job bars are also meant to be a complete replacement of any resource management but since every single one of them is builder/spender that is also a moot point since they made it extremely rigid come ShB and already started that transformation in SB with their balance changes.
The 2-min meta also makes it almost impossible for any class that gets any benefit from group buffs/self buffs which also rules out pretty much everyone but Healers. Even if I want it back I just don't see how they'd manage to pull it off without a rework of every jobs resources and maybe even a minor rework on how stats works, like making piety affect every job or something

I used it exclusively when I played a male roe, it doesn't scale up like it should so it ended up being a good size. It's way bigger proportionally on the other races and I stopped using it when I changed to a highlander.

Content in this game is invalidated the minute it is off patch. Eureka has echo, Bozja has echo, Savage gets giga echo + unsync, extremes get echo and extra gear or unsync. Even ultimates get dungeon gear when off-patch for a marginal upgrade.

Balmung has fallen unfortunately because with successive waves of WoWfugees and other scum it got coopted by people that want it to be Goldshire 2.0, not say there was never degenerate shit but it's gotten out of hand. When Balmung exploded back in Heavenward a lot of people went to Mateus or retreated in to private settings that are advertized pretty openly if you want to engage with them.

I enjoy the people but sadly the option to kick and replace is not within my power as I am not the raid lead and nor am I going to rock this boat right now. I am definitely learning and hope my 7.0+ static, whoever they may be, will be better

Same, except I still pug new tiers at degenerate hours when I feel like it and might consider sneaking in DSR before 7.0. I still like raiding every now and then, but it's just not the same without the lads.

The game checks for tank in need first. Most of the time it's actually looking for healer.
The whole system is broken.

it is the exact opposite for me. Healer queue takes like 5 minutes even if they are in need, and tank queues are pretty much instant 90% of the time
What the second Anon said replying to you but also because there's a genuine stigma around tanking but I would say in FFXIV the job basically plays itself. There's no aggro management at all. It does however require you to know the mechanics of the dungeon to position things in harder fights but most duty roulettes don't really require that.

Sure, but it basically says that DQ10 and PSO2 have no strategy guide, or that their game don't need it because they are easy.
it requires timing and good damage whereas xiv just relies on you+7 people remembering where to go
There literally only were 3 fights in PSO2 that required good damage. Deus Esca rematch, Persona rematch and Hatred.

Well we technically didn't "go", we got teleported there at the end of the cutscene, so there was no "return to rising stones" quest step.
Either way, it was 6.1 when WoL goes there to b***h to Tataru how he's bored and she suggests to go to Thavnair and see what's up.
FFXIV has the worst quest design I've ever experienced in a video game, and it's not even close.
