But my n3dsxl also has dual ips screens and the battery lasts about 35 minutes longer so I constantly system transfer between the two as I can never quite commit to one or the other
why have a 3ds if you turn the 3d off? Most pictures I see have the 3d off. I remember having a 3d phone with the same parallax barrier in its screen and it was cool, and then the industry stopped making them.

Nah when I'm playing I am rocking full 3d 100% of the time. Unless I'm trying to stretch the battery life as long as possible.
With no 3d, headphones, battery saver, and brightness lvl 2 my n3ds lasted for a full 6.5 hour flight. I was incredibly proud of it

most games don't actually stop rendering in 3d when you turn it off (aka mario kart 7) so it doesn't matter either way
Surprisingly you can still get some of the faceplates for cheap off of Aliexpress instead of having to pay those bigass secondhand price-bumps. I nicked a Luigi faceplate and the European SNES faceplate. Keyword there is "New 3DS 2015". You get some neat oddities too like them apparently bootlegging a Tears of the Kingdom faceplate.

I had the same problem and I just got a new SD card and it's been working perfectly ever since, but before I tried that I tried formating and cleaning the contacts both in the 3ds and on the SD card to no avail... so It was obvious that it was the SD card that failed and not a connectivity issue. Also, it usually worked well if I rebooted a few times but always failed on the first boot.

People have the mistaken impression that most emulators are dolphin, when dolphin is a total anomaly for 3D emulation.
N64 emulation is still pretty shitty even after decades. Wii U emulation is only good for a few specific games. Switch emulation is very hit or miss.

EO is barebone dungeon crawler that's why it will never make it big. Characters are static drawings, attack effects are shit, places are just menus, you will have to spread points on characters. Yes, I fricking got it, completely fixed
precisely because it was moron proof I didn't want to risk it and I was following the instrucions completely to the letter. Upon reaching the last step of "Section V - Setup Script" it was saying "press start and turn on the 3DS, the GodMode menu will appear" I got very confused because a different menu showed up and I pressed A out of habit, getting lost
I tried again and noticed that it was giving me two options and one of which was GodMode, so I was able to continue following the instructions on the screen and get it finished. After waiting for a bit it finished and, to my surprised, not only was my 3DS hacked again, I also recovered EVERYTHING HOLY SHIT
I haven't yet tested if the games work, but even if they don't I could actually just install them again with FBI. For now I'll first save the backup

How big is your card? After 256gb (or 128 for some sd cards) the boot time skyrockets so don't panic if you end up waiting almost a minute for the console to turn on.

They're completely different games. Devil Survivors is turn-based Strategy like Fire Emblem or FFT. Soul Hackers is a dungeon crawler with incredible 90's vibes.

Strangely, the nicest part about using a N3DS to me has nothing to do with the games.
It's just a nicer console overall. The screens are bigger, the buttons are better located, the 3D works better, the menus are faster. It's a large improvement but it's about QoL more than about how well games run.
Yes I have one. It's pretty nice, the "experience" of the buttons etc are a lot better than playing on a smartphone, and being a small form factor is pretty nice to carry around.

128 gb if you want a solid amount of games from different systems (90-100 3ds games + dozens from other platforms)
64 gb is good too, you just wont have as many games. I wouldnt exceed 128 because it could slow the speed of the 3ds

most games don't actually stop rendering in 3d when you turn it off (aka mario kart 7) so it doesn't matter either way
Surprisingly you can still get some of the faceplates for cheap off of Aliexpress instead of having to pay those bigass secondhand price-bumps. I nicked a Luigi faceplate and the European SNES faceplate. Keyword there is "New 3DS 2015". You get some neat oddities too like them apparently bootlegging a Tears of the Kingdom faceplate.

I was recently playing fe fates on my hacked og 3ds because I wanted access to dlc I had never tried on my unhacked new model, and during dual strikes characters will take half a second to pop in which I had literally never seen happen once on my new model

I had the same problem and I just got a new SD card and it's been working perfectly ever since, but before I tried that I tried formating and cleaning the contacts both in the 3ds and on the SD card to no avail... so It was obvious that it was the SD card that failed and not a connectivity issue. Also, it usually worked well if I rebooted a few times but always failed on the first boot.

People have the mistaken impression that most emulators are dolphin, when dolphin is a total anomaly for 3D emulation.
N64 emulation is still pretty shitty even after decades. Wii U emulation is only good for a few specific games. Switch emulation is very hit or miss.

precisely because it was moron proof I didn't want to risk it and I was following the instrucions completely to the letter. Upon reaching the last step of "Section V - Setup Script" it was saying "press start and turn on the 3DS, the GodMode menu will appear" I got very confused because a different menu showed up and I pressed A out of habit, getting lost
I tried again and noticed that it was giving me two options and one of which was GodMode, so I was able to continue following the instructions on the screen and get it finished. After waiting for a bit it finished and, to my surprised, not only was my 3DS hacked again, I also recovered EVERYTHING HOLY SHIT
I haven't yet tested if the games work, but even if they don't I could actually just install them again with FBI. For now I'll first save the backup

How big is your card? After 256gb (or 128 for some sd cards) the boot time skyrockets so don't panic if you end up waiting almost a minute for the console to turn on.

No the new models are different, My original 3DS is twice as old but the screen doesn't flimsily flop forward when I tilt the DS towards me.
I got a new 3ds xl too, Japanese and second hand but it looks brand new, except the upper screen is indeed wobbly like you described.
But my older n3ds xl, European version, does not have the wobbly screen despite it being in worse condition.

Strangely, the nicest part about using a N3DS to me has nothing to do with the games.
It's just a nicer console overall. The screens are bigger, the buttons are better located, the 3D works better, the menus are faster. It's a large improvement but it's about QoL more than about how well games run.
Yes I have one. It's pretty nice, the "experience" of the buttons etc are a lot better than playing on a smartphone, and being a small form factor is pretty nice to carry around.

If you don't know shit about kanji, you should look into shit like the rikusho, keisei moji, onpu and ifu, radicals, etc. There are lots of tricks to them

64 gb is good too, you just wont have as many games. I wouldnt exceed 128 because it could slow the speed of the 3ds
