No, I stopped watching in after the disastrous PS3 reveal and subsequent fallout when it turned out everything was fake.

E3 was a zombie event long before it died so no. When nintendo stopped doing live stage events it was the beginning of the end, Sony leaving was the nail in the coffin

Yeah Nintendo leaving would be no E3.

Yes. But only earlier times when E3 was filled with awesome games. Every year I wanted to play stuff from it or they talked about the new Nintendo games coming like Mario or Zelda. I don’t know who thinks E3 was terrible, but they obviously don’t like excitement for carefully catalogued markets where they selling only their most newest and best and brightest stuff.

I think what happened now though is Nintendo did their last e3 by getting rid of pig ganon and going to Mario sunshine later with the GameCube maybe. Just taking all the cool reasons away to even play Mario or Zelda anymore. Mario fights bowser but he does it by wearing a lot of furry (like koopa) themed outfits now.

It died in like 2016 or so, everyone had enough time to mourn it.

Nah. In all honesty it was mostly very boring. There were some hype moments here and there but SO much filler. Especially in the last few years.

Got a german PC Games DVD (double sided) where they covered cool new games from E3, like Doom3, Half Life 2 and other great titles.

    >no more Squilliam countdown posts
    >no more collages
    >no more review and bingo cards
    >no more watching Band Geeks before every conference
    >no more Twitch Pre-Pre Show
    >news is spread out to random days of the year instead of conveniently being placed in the summer
Yes, and all the people who've said "good riddance" can fricking choke on it.

I miss E3 threads. Some of the best threads on this board were watching E3 with anons and laughing at all of the absurd shit the announcers and hosts would do.

      These guys get it.

I kind of miss having all the big announcements concentrated on one event instead of spread out over a year. That's it really.

Mostly the reveal season. Just doesn't have the same flair to have crap randomly dropped whenever in smaller moments.

Eh, a bit. It was nice to sit down with people and laugh at stupid and shitty parts but honestly, most of it was just boring rather than shitty, especially in its last few years.

We had a Blockbuster Video next to a Furr’s Cafeteria, these were my favorite places in the world. One day blockbuster went out of business like everybody knows. Then one day the Furr’s cafeteria people said Furr’s is closed and nobody knows why. There is still some Furr’s going in other places but not that one.

This year felt the closest to a proper E3 ever since it died. All of the big 3 and most of the usual third parties did their stuff in the span of a month. The big loss is the culture around E3, nobody really gives a frick anymore.

I miss it quite a bit, we had this whole ritual of doing predictions, posting snacks, shitposing in threads and overall everyone having a good time even if the conferences were pure ass. But it's all over now, we won't get more $599 US dollars, no more RIIIIIDGE RACEEEER, no more EXTREEEME, no more FWEEEEEEEEH, no more extreme awkardness at watching two lesbians kissing for half a minute, no more WHERE'S MOTHER 3 or the obligatory car during the Forza announcement. It was the end of an era, just how magazines died when digital news became the norm.

Pretty much this. It was a fun multi-day experience the lead up to some cool game and a whole lot of cringe shit to laugh about. The later E3's being largely basic showcases were the beginning of the end.

Used to, just because it was a reason to get on VC with old friends I barely hear from otherwise. And the 0.1% chance of a good game being announced.
Now I'm even more dead inside and don't really care.

The E3 replacements have been way, way fricking worse. So yeah. As shit as E3 became, what we're left with without E3 is worse.

Live shows allow for corporate suits to embarass themselves on a huge stage so it was pretty fun in that aspect. Sometimes you'd get cool events like the Zelda Twilight Princess reveal or Donkey Kong Country Returns reveal.

This year's Ubisoft live show was close to returning to those marks of embarrassing hilarity.

Yes, because as bad as it was Nintendo had cool reveals and the whole thing was funny to laugh at
