Male in all but one case because I'm not a homosexual
That exception was a character concept for FFXIV, quite liked the idea it was like carrying on my Dragon's Dogma pawn. I was level 2 15 minutes into the game and some troony started messaging me about how he liked my character so I had to delete it
Both, sometimes you just want to see what the difference is.
When playing as a fem char, you have a higher likelihood of making friends, but they are never at a calibre that you want to be friends with. As a guy you're more prone to solitary activity unless you do impactful things for others that make them life-long pals.
Male options in RPGs are incredibly meh looking. Female ones are usually too loose for me to enjoy, but there's some games where it's okay. I think the problem is everything's so ostentatious. Everything has too much detail, there's nothing to be left to my imagination that fills in the gaps of the limited character creation systems. I can't make a big giant sunken eyed messy-haired barbarian archer with a big beefy bow, I have to make some prim-cut Highlander Bard or something dumb like that.
Give me Runescape levels of detail.
I played female warriors and thieves in Maplestory pre-Big Bang, because they had access to better armors. The level 25 sky shark set for female warriors is really useful for moving around efficiently, and nobody else has non-gachapon item access to any gear that grants speed. Male warriors don't have access to that. The level 35 avenger set could also easily be scrolled and used until you upgraded to pirate armor at level 80, but male thieves didn't have access to any overall armor until level 100. Female magician's dark level 38 overall also didn't require 20 fame unlike the male magician's, but that's pretty trivial because the red one did the exact same thing.
My mistake, male thieves have access to the sauna robe overall, but the Avenger was still better because it had the same amount of slots but started off with +4 LUK so it could be scrolled better.
>The only time I'll play a female is if it's one of those shitty MMOs with gender-locked classes
What the frick is wrong with koreans? Think it was DFO because I wanted to start with standard martial arts man (ended up picking grappler too which was extra shit) just to find out male punchman is objectively worse than the female one, which has a better moveset
I make both.
Men I want to be and women I'd want to be with.
There is no rhyme or reason for why I pick any given one. It depends on my mood.
That said in The Old Republic I made men exclusively because romance options.
Male, don't care for female PCs. Tried it, not for me. Got memed once in Monster Hunter by an anon gushing about how much better female armors were, flipped character's gender in a save editor for MH4U, thought the armors were sexier but not actually better (often worse or the same quality)
I usually play male in MH, but damn did the armor suck in world compared to the female sets. I switched to female in iceborne because I was tired of the ugly male fashions.
Male because I'm a man and not a troony homosexual.
Essentially
male unless im going for an almost purely magic build bc i try to make my characters as realistic as possible in that respect
I don't play MMOs
Neither, I don't like MMORPG's. When I tried Warcraft like 15 years ago I was a big cow
I have both male and female characters depending on the class and idea I have for the character.
Male, but the shortest race in the game for maximum headpats
Male
Picking women in singleplayer is fine but online it's fail-safe troony and autism (which are the same thing) detector
i make up a character with a short backstory
some are dudes some are chicks
it is a Role-Playing Game after all
Is that the huntress
Male in all but one case because I'm not a homosexual

I don't know, what do YOU play as?
Frick you, Ratthew.
>Do you play as female or male in MMORPGS
Yes. We all do
>why?
Those are the options.

girl is cute/hot
I play male lala in FFXIV but if I were to play any of the humanoid races, I'd play a female character
Female because I like looking at girls
Female because I like playing dress up with my cute girl virtual doll.

usually just depends on the character creator
I played as a male Draenei in WoW and a female roe in XIV
The reason being the same, they best display a heroic archetype.
thats male highlander
Nah they’re not tall enough
Female because I'm a man and not a gay sissy queer troony homosexual who enjoys watching a man's body for hours.
I make both.

>Playing MMOs
Male on main account, female if I want to try other jobs and rush shit up
Whichever.
I make 1 male and female character but I usually play men.
Really depends on the character I want to play. Usually comes down to animations or how I want to rp.
i play as male
my wife plays as male for some fricking reason in ff14
Females because I get to be a man in real life and it's fun to spend my fantasy time as a woman.

Can't relate, I rocked male Anjanath armor up until Rathalos armor and then started wearing the Dragoon set pretty much permanently.
Female in bawd armour so I can objectify them. Only zoomers think female toon = troon.
Female. I like my cat girl.
cute pharaoh
Thank you. I look forward to going to Meracydia to get some authentic in game Egyptian gear so I don't have to mod to look the part.
i play female in games like dark souls or skyrim but in mmorpgs/games where you interract with other players i prefer male
I make a grandpa every time
I like to play non-human characters so I pick female.
>playing goyslog MMOs
i played tauren in wow
