>Avellone tries his hardest to prove that there are no sides and that light and dark are the same thing.
The game should support the concept in gameplay then instead of punishing the player for not picking a side. At the very least let you be a gray jedi if you don't pick the truly evil choices the game gives you.
Light side is more satisfying thematically, so I usually go with that on the larger scale, but I pick a lot of dark side options along the way. Kreia nags you a lot about not blindly picking an option based on its alignment and the game respects playing that way pretty well. My biggest complaint is that you can't side with Vaklu and still get the light side route even though it objectively makes more sense to help the Sith's ally break free of their grasp.
I remember my non-aligned, "frick the force" playthrough being hell by the end, but I was also doing a no force powers, no lightsabers, and playing as a Sentinel who never got to promote, so that probably played a roll. Kreia relies on something she hates for good reason.
I try to play both and vary my playthroughs, but I find myself always falling back to Light Side. I really like the way KOTOR 2 handles Light Side, and it's the more interesting of the two paths.
Weirdly enough, despite what people say and with the writing, I feel like the game does a good job at convincing me, being a proper "Jedi", what the code follows, is the right path. All the masters and Sith are all just corrupt dickheads.
Light side makes the most sense thematically given that you're an exile. You have to plot your way back towards the lightside which Kreia helps you do. It's way more interesting because practically everyone has given up on the Jedi at that point even your own party.
Grey all the way. Frick the Jedi for exiling me and frick the Sith for being power hungry edgelords. I don't care if Kreia tells me it doesn't work that way or the game blocks me from certain powers.
The game is shitty because being grey is obviously the correct choice, but you have to sacrifice getting cool class abilities for it. Why does the game punish you for playing it as intended.
Because in the Star Wars universe "light" and "dark" are not abstract concepts but observable reality that grants you wizard powers. Centrists get fricked.
In my observations, leftists who think they are centrists are actually far left liberals and rightwingers who think they are owning the libs with their radical for the current year opinions are largely centrist liberals.

It's a good enough reason to talk about the video game, as you may observe people doing. This may come as a surprise but there's people who have watched the video and people who haven't who are interested in the game, as people have been for the past 15+ years
I almost never play evil characters in RPGs because they're usually written like cartoon villains
you can never be opportunistically evil, or chaotic neutral,. you're either the incarnation of satan or the incarnation of jesus with no in-between
It's been years (if not a decade) since I last played, but there was another overpowered-as-frick dark side power next to it in the list for my character. Foce statis perhaps? Either way, it's fun to whirlwind enemies then electroshock them as they are stunned or use that sweet sweet insta-CRIT on stunned opponents.
Light side, it isn't in my nature to be a dick to others who are barely surviving in the galaxy thanks to warmongering dickheads and scheming edgelords. If some good to be done here and there for myself and others, I am content to play light side and do my best.
darkside is kinda underdeveloped in 2, feels like the whole game is built for LS, besides, even full LS you can justify your actions in the war so it avoids you having to put up with the jedi orders shit.
No, I don't wonder why popular game franchises keep getting threads made about them and I don't go looking for things to prove my paranoid delusion that something happened to make people post about them more often
Avellone tries his hardest to prove that there are no sides and that light and dark are the same thing.

You can still beat the game without ever going full light or dark. It's barely a difficult game, you can roleplay whatever you want and still win.
Regardless, it still punishes you for not choosing a side. Gameplay that contradicts what the game is saying is a flaw.

Once you get Force Storm the game is over in terms of difficulty and you can get that easily going full grey.
Light just because I like being a hero, and I like Mira more than Hanharr.
8 INT post
Kreia loves Lightside Exile and hates Darkside Exile
I try to play both and vary my playthroughs, but I find myself always falling back to Light Side. I really like the way KOTOR 2 handles Light Side, and it's the more interesting of the two paths.
Dark Side wh8le making all the Light Side choices.

Last time I did a dark side playthrough I was like 8 I usually do a light side but I've been itching to replay and do a dark side run

Because that's how it would work to be a moralgay anywhere. You nerf yourself by being a decent person even in real life.
Because in the Star Wars universe "light" and "dark" are not abstract concepts but observable reality that grants you wizard powers. Centrists get fricked.
Your idea of a "Centrist" is ruined by modern ideals of what that is, thanks to Disco Elysium I'm sure.
In my observations, leftists who think they are centrists are actually far left liberals and rightwingers who think they are owning the libs with their radical for the current year opinions are largely centrist liberals.
That's your idea, but they're usually just Libertarians, as forgotten as that concept is.
lawful good always like the upstanding citizen i am
How does a lawlful good person handle the Nar Shaddaa beggar scene with those limited choices?
Dark side, but it wasn't very satisfying
>yet another kotor 2 thread
go away boomer scum
It's only talked about a lot now because zoomers like you are playing it for the first time right now, moron.
Always darkside. My brothers would always do light side run so we'd just watch each other play and see how things work out differently.
Peek soul if you ask me.
>funny russki eceleb made a vid about a game xd
Frick off
Literally who
I'll buy this on Switch when they release the content patch.

Is it just me or did anyone think this game literally felt half finished?
No anon, you are first to point that out. Also did you know that dmc 1 was supposed to be resident evil 4????
dilate
>Too scared to reply correctly
Do zoomers really
I almost never play evil characters in RPGs because they're usually written like cartoon villains
you can never be opportunistically evil, or chaotic neutral,. you're either the incarnation of satan or the incarnation of jesus with no in-between
The set pieces at Dantooine are such that you can be opportunistically evil.
To any degree you want.
Any game that ever gives me a choice I will always go dark side. I don't understand why anyone would ever choose light unless out of curiosity.
Dark Side
Marauder
Dual pistols
Dark side because it's fun to frick with people and for that sweet sweet force lightning/force wave usage discounts.
Ackshually Force Wave is neutral, so it doesn't get a discount from your alignment
It's been years (if not a decade) since I last played, but there was another overpowered-as-frick dark side power next to it in the list for my character. Foce statis perhaps? >Get Force Crush
>Can now just cheese every single 1v1 encounter in the game

yes
Whatever I want and feel is necessary for the situation to produce the best outcome.
darkside is kinda underdeveloped in 2, feels like the whole game is built for LS, besides, even full LS you can justify your actions in the war so it avoids you having to put up with the jedi orders shit.
dark side to zap some homies
In case you're wondering why zoomers keep making threads about it.
No, I don't wonder why popular game franchises keep getting threads made about them and I don't go looking for things to prove my paranoid delusion that something happened to make people post about them more often
You fricking clown
>1:50 hours
are you kidding?
