>Do you play Oblivion
>Morrobabies getting uppity
Your game will always be inferior to Daggerfall.
>Your game will always be inferior to Daggerfall.
This but unironically.
Daggerfall is just ELITE with elves.
I remember opening a random door on a far corner province and found a female dark elf living there. It was pretty surreal if you ask me.
>reddit is so starved for tes content they started sucking off daggershit
sad!
but dood have you seen the unity version? and the boobies? whoa whoa
>Daggershit
Get out, now.
But Morrowind is reddit tho?
Why is there a Halo ring in Morrowind
Because this is an image from an esoteric Halo/Morrowind Facebook shitposting page, I believe
Only the Adoring Fan
This. I need my sex slave boy to cheer me on as i murder things.
I wish Skyrim had even half as decent of a companion without needing to mod.
I plan on getting as many invincible npcs to follow me and go beat the main story with them.
That video along with this one are the reasons I'm doing it.
When I was playing Oblivion 15+ years ago I had no idea I was playing the greatest game that would ever come out.
I hate companions and I hate khaj**ts
>reinstall Oblivion
>install MOO
>it adds among other things some random adventurers you can hire to come along with you
>they're between level 13 and 25 and all of them refuse to follow a level 6
>after reaching level 7 finally manage to convince the level 13 to tag along after messing with charm spells
>its a khaj**t thief
>go to Vilverin with him
>mod unscaled the whole world so it was full of strong bandits, only managed to clear half of the first floor alone
>after killing the main area start going up to that small area on the left the bandit boss hangs out
>three guys in full Hammerfell gear sprint down the stairs after me
>hit one with sword, damage barely registers
>fricking khaj**t pops an invisibility potion and leaves me there fighting them alone
>I say "fighting" but in fact I was dead in seconds
Why do so many people like MOO? I was interested in some of the game changes, so I installed it for a playthrough. Ended up uninstalling it bc I felt like I was being punished every time I went outside.
Just like how it should be with you in real life.
where's her penis
she has a reverse one
I'm playing Skyrim right now.
The Priestess of Azura is my follower. She reminds me to pray and feeds me Saltrice and Kwama eggs.
She is best girl.
Wtf, literally me. I'm planning to marry her on this run
>walk around with 6 unkillable quest essential followers which devolve into constant infighting from friendly fire
shit's stupid but hilarious
Player character is unscrupulous and self-serving, using the cover of being a heroic knight and illusion magick to enforce it. Follower is a femboy squire, duped into believing there is nothing abnormal about satisfying his futa mistress every night.
TO WEYNON PRIORY, THEN
Oh shit, it's Sean Bean
Needs a sexy companion that can't escape, I think. A sex slave if you will.
Can't decide if I want to reinstall oblivion and do a nostalgia playthrough or play morrowind for the first time.
I got bored of morrowind before finishing it. Unless you are entertained by reading ingame books and npc walls of texts (ie you have autism) I would go with oblivion
>he doesn't want to read
>in an rpg
i play videogames to /play/ videogames not read a book. I can just go read a book with an actual good story instead of some half baked videogame shit. That said more the point is that the gameplay is bad and the story didnt interest me enough to get me to read the lore dumps
You seem moronic. Especially bc of this line:
>the gameplay is bad
>miss miss miss
>oh look a flock of monster seagulls chasing me across the entire country
>explore some underground shit hole find unleveled enemies, forcing you to reload a save from 10-20 minutes ago wasting your time
save more often, b***h.
I just play better games instead
>the year of the lord 2020+2+1
>people STILL spout the moronic miss miss miss meme
hint 1: you will miss a frickton when out of stamina
hint 2: you will stop going out of stamina very quickly as you level up a skill like at all
It is so effective because it is true. It would take anyone about 30 minutes to experience it themselves. They have the choice then of either bailing or looking up exploits.
The combat is trash and was ripped out root and branch for a reason.
>It would take anyone about 30 minutes to experience it themselves
You experience it immediately if you do at all. It would take anyone about 30 minutes to get used to playing correctly so that it doesn't happen anymore.
You were supposed to read the manual, dumbass.
Figure 10 minutes for character creation 15 minutes of puttering around Seyda Neen Then 5 minutes of fighting a mudcrab.
I stand by my estimate.
You were supposed to read the manual, dumbass.
Ok
So anyway someone going in blind may go through the Q and A from Suchanass Ergolian so add a 10 minute cushion to my estimate.
You were supposed to read the manual, dumbass.
With my updated estimate of 40 minutes until they have to decide whether to bail or look up exploits I feel my estimates are on much solider ground.
Newer players are unused to antiquated mechanics and design philosophy so I think the former will be much more common.
It is like going from a Tesla to a Model T.
More like going from an IMAX to a Zoetrope but I take your meaning.
>make a melee character that is competent with melee and don't fight tired and swing wildly
>exploits
oh i am LAFFIN
Nta but i spent almost the entire game with a depleted stamina bar
not him but i retried it and its just not interesting. I dont mind fatigue tying into your accuracy and i dont mind how basic it is. I mind how little some stuff matters, like different melee attacks because all it ends up boiling down to is the different attacks dont matter because you will just end up using the one that your weapon is best for so you end up spamming instead of mixing it up. I wanted to enjoy it but that thing alone just makes it so boring.
What's that webcomic with the kobold prostitutehouse?
>playing Daggerfall
>get quest from Queen Barenziah to retrieve a section of her autobiography so it can be destroyed
>find the chapter and it describes how Tiber Septum took a very underaged barenziah as a lover and had constant bareback sex because she was too young to get pregnant
>she does end up getting pregnant with his child
>He immediately knocks her out and when she wakes up she has blood pouring out between her legs
>Tiber Septum, founder of the Empire, hero of mankind, and mortal turned god fricked underage elf pussy and yeeted her fetus when he found out she was pregnant.
Tiber Septum continues to be the most based character in the ES universe.
At least it was only an elf whelp.
HIGH ELFS WILL NEVER RECOVER
Fallout 3 and 4 are the only Betheda games I use followers because for some reason they actually stick with you instead of getting lost in those two games. Skyrim especially is awful with the follower AI, they are right behind you, you take 20 steps, turn around and they are either completely gone or stuck in a river for some reason.
Nope, the whole reason I play bethesda games is because they are solo focused imsims.
I'm not ruining that with some lame dog/gay/girl just for some occasional quips
>imsims
>todd era bethesda
LMAO
are you implying that the simplistic turn-based isometric crap would be closer?
I aggree that I'm exaggerating when I call them imsims because they are in truth simple action rpgs with physics but still
I'm saying daggerfall is closest. As for whether it has to be first person action to be immersive? Well that's a much bigger debate. I'd probably say you're wrong though but I'd be thinking of text based or abstract (like tileset) presentation. If you only play isometric tactics games and TES I can see how you would see TES as im, but I still can't see sim.
I thought immediatly about fallout for some reason.
Sure older rpgs usually had more mechanics. I've only played Arena though and it wasn't very complex.
I agree with text based or abstract presentation being alright medium because, similar to books, you can then imagine the world yourself how you see fit. (So a "pretty girl" would be exactly your type of pretty girl).
As for the sim part of TES, remember TES has full physics on most objects that's pretty hardcore. Also remember stuff like putting buckets on peoples heads to block their vision. Vision based stuff in general is pretty well done with stacking chameleon or just using invisibility to steal. There's also the debuff stacking and the mana consumption ration in Oblivion where instead of dealing 100 dmg you deal 10 dmg per second in 3 different types so it costs way less.
none of that is sim. The combat is basic and there's no logistics or tedium. You don't carry your shit in a bag. You don't pay tax. You don't sleep. You don't need to eat. Even their attempt at these things suck.
You want a good imsim? Kingdom Come Deliverance. You know the moment I knew it would be amazing? The first time I closed a door and the game took it's time sensibly taking control from the player and having Henry close it as a normal person would.
>ruined some of its best elements with patches because normalgays were screeching
>got bought out and will never make a true successor
Fricking depressing.
>the game took it's time sensibly taking control from the player
sorry but that is the exact opposite of what I consider imsim
I don't care about realistic simulation, especially if it comes at the cost of immersion by taking control away from me.
to me the sim part just means a lot of mechanics that I can interact with
so really it's immersive complex interaction
but I stick to the name imsim cuz it took 20 years for my favorite genre to get a name and I don't want to dilute it
You're actively diluting it as we speak. There's no sim in Skyrim, buddy. It's a fricking hack and slash. You know what added to the im AND the sim in Deus Ex? That shooting was unwieldy as frick and the player just had to cope with that - unless they had the requisite skills.
Todd, and TES by extension, are completely opposed to it. They're all about viscera and feedback. What you want is an action sandbox. What I want is an imsim.
Deus Ex is the only of the classic imsims to do that and I find it a bad mechanic. Aiming should make rational physical sense imo.
I dislike flashy cutscene executions in Skyrim but it's because they take away control and lessen immersion.
>and I find it a bad mechanic
You don't like imsims. Simple as. You like action sandbox games. You complain about immersive elements like proper interactions between the player and their environment (KC:D). You complain about mechanics that simulate the character's actions appropriately (DE). You like neither immersion or simulation. You like action and player agency (control at all times) and open ended play (sandbox mechanics).
Those are elements of many imsims but they are not what constitutes an imsim to begin with - or would you like to argue that moving a steady mouse as you press w is the same as readying and firing a bolt action rifle to snipe someone while you're jogging?
>would you like to argue that moving a steady mouse as you press w is the same as readying and firing a bolt action rifle to snipe someone while you're jogging?
I would argue it's closer than rolling dice for it
Yeah that's about what I'd have expected from you. Stop diluting the term. It's hard enough to keep it pure now that youtubers have latched to it.
>character did not go to the gym in game and has low STR
>bolt action rifle wobbles around when you try to aim
Just don't even speak to the moron.
guns are easy to aim, they are designed for it
Literally nothing is simulated in Daggerfall.
I don't play any action RPGs with followers unless they are specifically designed for it, e.g I do not play bethesda games with followers.
I don't have any followers. I do have employees but I don't think I am legally allowed to force them to play Oblivion with me.
I always play the TES games without followers, they always ruin the mood and make combat too easy.
Todd Softworks should release an Oblivion Anniversary Edition with a modernized, optimized engine, mod browser and console mods.
>optimized engine
,':^)
i like breton lore
