Do you support artistic freedom in video games?

That is the question i ask to anons who are against being against SBI. Yes, i know you are here, perhaps you are just a tourist, but that doesn't matter.

Hiring SBI supports artistic freedom. Publishers are free to frick their shit up and hire whoever they like to work on their games.

Yes and consumers are free to track the publishers and games that do hire them and people like them and not buy their games.

      True!
SBI is a symptom of the disease, not the cause.
They're still evil, but the truest evil lies within those who willingly hire them.

That's not the top of the pyramid. The evil is the pressures that result in their hiring. Politicians, think tanks, violent political groups, money movers, and so on setting up funds and efforts to push this homogenizing race-baiting garbage need to go. The people who support that shit need to go. You always have to ask "Why did they do this?"
The answer isn't always financial or ideological. In SBI's case, they threaten developers.

Certainly, Art is supposed to make you feel something. If that art brings nothing but disgust, why would I buy their prints? To make myself vomit? Just to suffer? Why are artists usually starving? True art does not care for transactions. That being said if you are being held up, coddled by corps, gov, etc and make what they want. Can you call yourself a true artist?

if by artistic freemdom you mean removing every game of the opposing side than no, i dont support artistic freedom because thats not what is happening here
if i would have pro fascism games AND ultra hypersexualized troony games i would say yes, i support artistic freedom but its clearly not the case

Sweet Baby Inc. they’re a video game consulting firm based in Montreal. They put woke shit into games. The current buzz around the is because this Brazilian dude make a curator group on steam listing games they worked on and one of their employees threw a shit fit and tried to have it taken down. This only brought more attention and public scrutiny to the point they had to call in homeland security.

I'm not one of those, but don't support treating videogames as art in the first place. Nothing good comes of things that are considered art these days.

Even if it's not intended to be art, it's still art. But you get what i mean, right? Being able to make a game however you want.
A bad game will always be a bad game.

Do you support SBI threatening people to hire them? Also if you have to hire someone to put something in a game for you there is really much vision or freedom to it.

    >ogres in Dragon's Dogma specifically target women and try to abduct them because they're fat slobbering disgusting rape gorillas and getting the slightest wiff of a female makes their pheromones go crazy
    >even if you have a female in your party who's a strong and capable warrior, an ogre CAN and WILL pick her up then proceed to shake her brains out like a baby rattle, and that's just the law of that world
Yeah Sweet Baby wouldn't allow this even though it feels believable and enriches the world by making it feel legitimately dangerous.
They just want to pussify everything.

      Or
      >FNV has an actual unapologetic rapist characters who is a literal fat bastard and junkie
      >people are aware of him and are afraid of him
      >you can meet his victims (one of which he set on fire after)
Even Sawyer stands by this. And that’s just one example, I didn’t go with the obvious because it’s too easy.

Im curious to how a scenario would've been recieved: You play an RPG and walk into a town. One of the first things you see is a beggar on the side of the road, asking you to give him a swig of your water. You do so while feeling the look of passerbys in your neck, but nothing happens. As you move further into the town you see the usual shops and markets, everyone is bustling, but also at ease. Later you even find out women walk around at night alone without a worry in the world. As you talk around you can ask about the amputated beggar. You learn he raped a woman some time past, and the Lawful Paladin keeping the peace here caught him and severed all his limbs, including his dick and placed him in that spot with the word "rapist" on a sign hanging around his neck. The sign fell off over time.

Nobody dares do the crime or anything. It's like someone showed off a video in Dubai where they put their valuables on the hood of their car in a busy street for an hour and nobody tried to take them. They forgot to mention you lose a hand there if you are caught stealing.

I mean normally it would be a debate about justice as well as crime and punishment. Few will deny that what the rapist did was wrong it’s all a matter of whether the punishment fit the crime and the that’s what the dialogue/dilemma would center around. Now given the state of most devs and SBI the scenario wouldn’t even be there, it would just be an utterly sterile town with the worst crimes being murder. But if it were there it would have no option to question the punishment it would just say good and end it there. Now the former because they’re utterly coddled and any idea/scenario that offends or goes against them must be silenced and removed.

Where was this defence of artistic freedom when people were calling for Elden Ring to be given an easy mode despite the difficulty being an explicit artistic choice? Where was this defence of artistic freedom when Koreans make video games with attractive women in them?

Can't have it both ways bro.
