That just speaks of the freedom of customization with the characters, and the young romances are most likely there in case a player wants to make an underaged main character, ive done a playthrough as a young archer, and having the possibility for romances around his age was good.

I have 500 hours in world. Just because I think the game is bad doesn't mean I haven't played it. I'll play it because it's a monster hunter game. I'll just feel that the experience is lacking the entire time.

They've effectively done away with preparation as a very heavy indicator on how your quest will go. I've had personal experience with a guy going on all his quests without gloves and a gal going with Brach's greatsword into alatreons quest. We didn't lose those quests. Camps on the map were a mistake and that's just world. Rise pretty much made every weapon a viable matchup against every monster because of the memebind attacks. Every weapon also has a counter. Magnamalo and garangolm look like buildings, not animals. The game has literally turned into dauntless FRICK.

It does help, but only if players are sorcs. You can still spell sync even when they're using low level versions of the spells so it's generally more efficient to use them instead.

Been using her since you posted her level 40 version, what the other anon said is very true. I had to scour for another sorcerer pawn to spell sync while also having an enchantment of any kind, and while it has helped its not a perfect fix
Many of the shorter spell casts are still great for damage, comestion and frigor being personal favorites of mine just for what they do

Arisen's Bond does not guarantee a beloved, it just maxes an NPC's affinity. If you speak with another NPC with equal or greater (due to affinity decay) affinity before when your beloved is chosen, you will get stuck with that character instead. Your beloved is chosen right before the double wight fight at the top of the Great Wall during Deny Salvation, so make sure the person you want is the latest person you've spoken to with the highest affinity before that point.

Only one pawn is able to exist per account, so starting a new game just means that your new pawn receives any uncollected rewards from your previous pawn once you upload the new one.

They planned on adding the option to remove separate armor pieces so hopefully we'll get such option in DD2, also armor/clothing dyes.
being able to customize armor would greatly reduce the bloated numbers of similar armor pieces we see in DD1, that would be a very welcomed change. you get the barbarian armor, and as you upgrade it you can improve its looks, add ornamentation and pieces to it, then take them out as you like, hopefully without messing its protective capabilities and stats.

if this is your first playthrough, don't do the DLC before completely finishing the game (that is, jumping into the hole and doing what you gotta do in there). the DLC spoils the final plot elements of the main story

Not that anon but I'm technically on my second playthrough. On my first one I never did much of BBI and I don't think I finished the postgame Everfall either
Is there any reason not to take stabs at BBI every once in a while to get as far as I can? I don't remember anything about the BBI equipment and dragonforging and such
BBI gear is better than anything else in the game, which also means that it'll likely make you overpowered for the base game. you can do it whenever you want, but I find it better to do it after the Everfall (usually before delivering the Wakestones because starting a new game+ can be a little inconvenient)
Nothing's stopping you from doing Bitterblack the moment you see Olra on the pier. You could very easily do one section of it, purify your spoils then return to the main game, there's no consequences for doing so. Only time it can be an issue is after defeating Daimon, because all the floors get remixed in terms of enemy spawns and things like maneaters can now be in any chamber, sometimes in more than one treasure chest. The real question is do you have the resources to keep yourself alive? If you're not that familiar with Bitterblack then you may die quite a bit, and if you don't have wakestones then your journey down will be all the more harrowing. Bitterblack gives wakestones too, but not as plentiful as Everfall.
Like I said, I never got that far. The idea is to do it the same way I'm exploring the overworld

And as I've said, there's nothing stopping you from doing that. All I was saying is to be wary of killing Daimon 'too early' if you want a more hassle free time doing Bitterblack.
That's entirely up to you, but I suggest doing Everfall first. Bitterblack is harder than post game, but it also gives you access to upgrading any dragonforged weapons you have and various rings and items you can't find in the base game. One thing Everfall has a lot of though is wakestone like
said, so stay hang out there for a while to farm those, dragonforge some gear while you're at it because a lot of Everfall's chambers have dragonkin in them, then try your hand at Bitterblack.

When does this actually start becoming true? Because it's fricking impossible to find any equipment better than the masterworks guy sells in the main game. And every time I have been gated by an encounter, I came back with more levels and beat it
To me it seems like the game is incredibly stat reliant and minmaxing could very well be the difference between being able to do an encounter and having to retreat to come back with more levels. People in these threads say that minmaxing is irrelevant but I feel like they're only talking about the very endgame, not the overall experience. If you are having troubles with any encounter in the game it can be boiled down to using the wrong skills/using them at the wrong time, not using curatives and tools or party composition. There are no encounters that one vocation can handle easily that the other vocation won't also be able to handle.

yeah you'll do 10 instead of 1. sure it will make a real difference when the enemy is sitting at 5k lmao. it doesn't matter for endgame either while we're at it. daimon v1+2 has 300k health overall. minmaxing your way to 200 will net you ~600-800 damage compared to someone who swapped from red to blue at 200. it's negligible.

The chair gets slept on too much by new players. It has lots of cool features.

The chair also lets you change your pawns speech patterns and how often they speak. But unfortunately it's random what options show up each time you use the chair so you have to spend a LOT of time rolling the chair dialogue prompts to completely change your pawn's personality and speech patterns.
Also, fair warning that using a cheat tool like dinput8.dll to edit your pawn's inclinations will permanently break their AI and cause the save to not read unassigned values above 500 i.e. pawn AI becomes less dynamic and flexible. The only way to fix it is to roll a brand new save file.

The chair is good for setting up how your pawn speaks and how often. Nothing more.
Buy 9 potions for your pawns main inclination, 5 for the second and 3 for the hidden one.
Use them in the reverse order. And for the love of The Maker don't use the neutralizing potion. All the little quirks your pawn pics up from you are also removed.

I played the whole game as a sorcerer without know how to use focused bolt until daimon 2 and looked up online how to cheese him. I felt really dumb.
To be fair you have to hold kinda long for anything to happen and the fact that holding makes you do the default action first can easily lead you to think there's nothing to holding in the first place.

I honestly never touched Arc of Deliverance after my initial touch with Warrior due to the charge time, but now I may have to warrant a second opinion on it.
if you upgrade it to the 3rd tier using a Warrior ring, it sends small/medium monsters sky high like that (which can deal a surprising amount of fall damage), and it takes the same time to charge

I'm trying out MK for the first time and I haven't played any shield classes. How the frick does blocking work?
your shield enchants cast spells when you block. like full on ingle or levin. MK lives for parries more than fighter and has bigger lightshows more than MA when you start throwing in the cannon or your aoe's.
Looked it up in the wiki and I had to learn Reflect before I could perfect block which might explain my bad success at it. Learned it so now I'll have to see if I can figure it out.

They're all either ugly or boring and the pieces don't visually match with much other than other Lv.3 pieces themselves. Personally, for Rangers, I love shit like pic related -- a cap like the Farseer's Cap, jacket-like chest armor like the Lamellar Jacket or the Dark Lorica, long gloves and boots, and a big scarf like the Beastly Mantle or the Gryphic Cloak. Makes you look like a real fricking Ranger, you know?

I believe the rift lists the paws based on how recently they have been uploaded (in other words, how recently the player slept at an inn)
a lot of the times an anon posts their pawn here, I check the rift and they're at the very top of the listing for their level. the problem is that people aren't aware that they have to sleep at an inn to update their pawn on the server
