I know they've been homogenizing classes for a while now but AST just got its main gimmick distributed to other classes. What's the point of it now that it's just WHM with better animations?
Doesn't matter AST was ruined in 5.0 so any change is better than what we've currently got.
AST only had the stance switching because they didn't want to commit to there actually being 2 categories of healers
And Nocturnal was outright worse than Diurnal until ShB anyways
Is FFXIV story overrated? I personally think it is.
Considering it took almost a real life decade to finally squeeze out one vaguely interesting character for once from their cast of core villains, there's definitely something off about XIV's writing.
For every genuinely well written moment in the game (which it has a few of for sure, there's certain some "kino" going on), there's a couple extremely moronic bits to counter it.

Frick Yoshi and his obsession with casualization. It used to be tolerable but has gotten out of control.
Tldr: didn't pay attention to the game lately because the games community turned me off from coming back but will probably come back to do the first tier and leave.
steady decline of complexity throughout every patch/expansion/class rework. Also Yoshi himself in the last dev stream explicitly stating they don't want the game to be as complex as it used to be, that he wants to design the game to appeal to the maximum amount of consumers possible, and that they were afraid to make one of the new classes too difficult.

I have been playing this game since 2015 and I'm currently subbed, homosexual. And if removing cross-class skills as well as the 2nd class requirement for leveling up, and the working all healers to have the same 1 dot one attack skill isn't streamlining/casualizing then what is?

60/120 second burst windows are the standard. Most jobs have big cooldowns normalized to these burst with some varying that they haven't told us.
Tanks defensives will grant some kind of bonus when used properly, no definition.
DPS cooldowns adhere'd to this 60/120 second burst now.
Healers all have some sort of role action buff.

They literally never said that. They said WHM was significantly better in dungeons because of Holy's stun, so they considered removing it. But in the end they decided to give AST an Assize equivalent instead, that comet shower attack.

Monk's new cooldown is 90 seconds but it's also pretty minor since it's just a temporary autoattack speed buff
