NTA. While you're absolutely right that they aren't going to announce shit, we are well past the point where they should have announced something. Come March the Switch will be 7 years old, which is the standard age that consoles get succeeded, since 7th gen at least. The Wii U (While a commercial failure) only lasted about 5 + 1/2 years.
Stop using prior console cycles from Nintendo on Switch. They said themselves that Switch would last longer than usual.
Hardware isn't announced in Directs, the hardware announcement will be around April, the next Pokemon game will be on Switch
The only Pokemon related game I would like to see is a remake of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of the Sky. I would rather Game Freak take their time on any of their upcoming games.

I do not think it is going to be a full direct. It is going to be a mini direct going over the Peach game, the Thousand Year Door remaster, and the Luigi's Mansion remaster. If there is anything else, it will be some DLC.
I do not see Nintendo dropping a bunch of games at the end of the Switch's life span especially if the Switch 2 comes out this year.

In an ideal world, the Switch 2 would be 100 percent backwards compatible with the original Switch. That way any games that come out between now and the launch of the new console will still be playable on either console.
If Nintendo wants to start porting a lot of their older titles that are stuck on a system older than the Switch, then this would be the best time to do so. I know emulation exists. This is more so for people who want to play on a console.

The actual reasons are proximity to the annual shareholder's meeting and five months, the lead time that the Switch and PS5 both had, puts it at the end of Summer where people are heading back inside and there is a nice amount of time to momentum for the Holiday season
They usually do one in February. Feb, June, Sept. It's been that way for a while now, with some hick ups along the way for various reasons. I doubt they will change it, especially considering the investor meetings.
