Making an elaborate furry guild in the hardcore mode of a recreation of a dead game from 2004 is not autistic?

No it is just a streamer gay FOTM thing, most of the people participating in the guild would not play if soda did not organize all of it.

This, it's the bulk of Blizzard's customers at this point. They have contracts with streamers who manufacture FOMO

    Nah.
But there are too many millionaire streamers too invested in WoW, their entire persona is playing the game.
So they fabricate hype to save themselves.
WoW "classic" is one of the largest astroturfing operations in the history of humanity. There are more streamers playing it than real players.

No. I'm playing WoW for the first time and I can see why it was popular for its time but at the end of the day it's still typical MMOslop

It's not typical MMOslop, it's the progenitor of modern MMOslop.

MMOs have no future, they serve no purpose in the current gaming landscape.
They only exist for the sake of manbabies who can't leave the early 2000s behind

Wow will never have a "comeback" its reputation is already well known and players will slowly trickle down as the wow budget decreases. Dragonflight has shown that even if you make a "good" expansion that has everyone saying you should play it, the players wont come back. No one recommends WoW anymore because the game is designed to waste time and in todays zoomer addled culture you need to be able to either play with friends quickly or play in sessions under an hour which is something WoW cant do. Thats why Blizzard keeps doing Twitch drops to keep some form of viewership metric at all times in order to inflate their numbers. However it seems most people know this as they've caught on that the War Within seems to be a full expansion price with less content. Im not even saying to play another MMO like FF14 or Runescape, im saying WoW is going to slowly decline until the hardcore autists and paypigs are the only people left like BDO, and only Blizzard has themselves to blame for it.
    Frick WoW.

    MMOs are outdated.
Back in my days, it was amazing because it was new, it was fresh and you could play with your friends after school.
Now, the MMO formula has been reworked and refined so much it's a bare bone skinner box. No more exploring, trying new builds or having fun. Do the math, min-max and get to end-game. Worst yet, it becomes a social responsibility you have to actively work for.

The new trend that trained kids early on since MMOs was built around spending money so they don't even play that or want to engage in it.
And adults have no more time to sink in it either, unless you have a slice of action for 10-30 mins, asking for more than that becomes a bore.

WoW is not coming back, it's done. It's FOTM whenever something new comes out and that's it.
I remember growing up with WoW and how different expansions came out and new stuff kept pouring in. Now... who cares? more of the same? no thanks.

      >Worst yet, it becomes a social responsibility you have to actively work for.

I quit Classic because of this part

A lot of folks were lamenting raids getting down to 10 and 25 instead of 40 but my god was that a blessing!
        Can finally see some content.

        >Molten core at 30+ people?
        >WHO PULLED THAT GIANT?!

I've spent a ton of my life on vidya. I've gotten to endgame in a handfull of mmos occasionally leveling a second class and even doing that felt excessive. It's one thing to go back to Classic/Hardcore for maybe one leveling runthrough for nostalgia's sake. I can't wrap my mind around the monumental repetition of leveling over and over and over as some of these guys do going through an eternal treadmill of the same decades old content 99% of which is the simplest monotonous tasks. My brain would be fricking liquified

WoW Classic HC will not make WoW rebound, but it is reminding a lot of gamers what they want out of MMOs: meaningful progression and a leveling experience that actually matters.

Once the shilling stops I don't imagine WoW will gain much favor or success, but if there were smart gamedevs still out there they would capitalize on the interest in Classic HC. I don't believe any MMO devs exist that are good enough for this to happen, though. That games like WoW, BDO, and Lost Ark are somehow still alive is irrefutable proof that gamers simply have no taste and will allow absolute corporate devils to thrive.

yeah the way every streamer wants to play in his guild, go to his events, move to his city... he's really at the bottom of the barrel these days. and he only gets 20k-40k average these days. surprised he doesn't just fill a swimming pool with all his free money so he can drown himself in it
