Fire Emblem is getting churned out because it is selling more than it used to and IS literally has nothing else to do, it's still selling nowhere near as much as Mario or Pokemon, the true success story of the generation is Zelda, up until the Wii U Zelda was a fairly mediocre seller with Twilight Princess as the sole exception, BotW and TotK broke the trend and made Zelda into Nintendo's second best selling first party on the Switch.
All that said, I don't want a fricking ALttP remake.
Its getting churned out because COVID heavily delayed engage and by the time it was finished, it was decided that Hopes would be quickly made to capitalize on 3H popularity. Engage had been finished for almost a year, so the rumored FE4 remake getting its announcement now would make sense if you assume that it'd been worked on during the time that Engage was sitting around complete. Plus its not unheard of for two mainline games to release so close to one another (Look at the gap between FE8 and FE9)
ephraim really got sidelined in Engage. he should have been the eighth bracelet not stuck with his sister. speaking of engage, the fact it was finished earlier than planned makes you wonder all the left out cipher cards.
Nintendo is pretty much the laziest company in existence when it comes to remakes, they almost always put the bare minimum effort into them, overhauling the battle system would actually require putting in a modicum of effort, so I’d say you have nothing to worry about in that regard
