EQ1 specifically allows people to multibox an unlimited amount of characters and bots are RAMPANT in the time locked progressions servers to the point where raid zones are locked down almost 24/7 by legions of 72 bot raids.

It's not. It's pretty much your typical gacha grind. The content itself is very shallow. Most of the skills imo are not that fun to use. It's all a shame as graphically it's a nice look, but then you realize most of the game is just boring. There's a giant cosmetic cash shop + loot box garbage and that's basically the focal point. Also leveling in it is pure ass. you end up just going to known grind spots and sitting there for hours tagging mobs with other people mindlessly killing shit. The "Dungeons" are just moronicly simple. When I played JP I would match make into the ones i needed for MSQ and people would literally just carry me throuhg as if it was like slapping jelly onto a pickle and butter sandwich.
This is mostly true but not entirely. I agree that the overall endgame experience sucks if you care about that, and there is terrible gacha for cosmetics and shit, but honestly I don't care about any of that so it doesn't affect me. The base game so far is quite enjoyable, I like the areas and just exploring, farming enemies, getting better gear, etc. The combat is fun (at least my class is, I don't know about others).
As for the exp grind... I heard from some JP friends of mine that they adjusted the XP curves since launch and now you can get to level 60 by just going through the MSQ alone but I admit I haven't verified if it's true or not.
I like to take my time and do every single side quest cause I'm autistic like that so I don't particularly mind and I haven't notice any particular grind yet (but I'm only level 35). The thing that pisses me off however is that you can only accept like 15 quests or something, and after that the game tells you you need to finish the ones you have before you can get more. And every time you level up it feels like you get like 20-30 new random quests. As someone who likes to accept every one of them before turning them in in bulk, this triggers me a lot. Also you can only have 3 quests marked as visible in the HUD (as they show up on the map as hot areas) which makes it incredibly arbitrary and unwieldy to follow. Plus you can only have 10 adventurer boards so that gets even worse when you want to grind multiple at the same time.
I have been playing this game since day 1, story quests now gives a shit ton of exp but the problem is when you are done with story and need to level other classes.
Also the anon complaining about gameplay clearly hasn't played since the abilities extension update. At launch and until recently you could only use 4 abilities. So most of the time for classes with long ability CDs all you did was spamming normal attacks while jump canceling.
In terms of endgame there is only time attack, but most people don't care about that so they say there's no end game.
I blame the atrocious game launch on the fact we could have only use 4 abilities, that never made any sense.
If there's one where you don't have to autistically min-max your character and can just casually play all the way to the endgame without having to worry about your party wiping because one person made one mistake then I probably would.
