if the poll was anything like the current one, the guy who made it probably just didn't include any of those as options to vote for. these lists are skewed as hell as a result, they'll have a random entry from the middle of a series which isn't even universally considered the best, but not any of the others, and even using the Other option you can only vote for one game which he hasn't included
these aren't that much more of a step up from those "official Ganker ranking of [platform] exclusives" tier lists which are actually just one guy's opinion

Absolutely correct. The combat is shallow, the puzzles are simple, the writing isn't special, and it's overall much too easy. Nostalgia is the glue that makes people think it's worth more than the sum of its parts.
