Golden Axe Warrior is better than Zelda 1

Golden Axe Warrior should be better but being a button short hurts it.

On topic though, every one knows that zeruda no densetsu didn't hit its stride until kamigami no toraifoosu.

I like Z1 more than Z2, but Z2 is also good.

      No.

Zelda 1 -> Neutopia -> Neutopia II -> Link to the Past

Zelda 2 is a great game and I do love it but I tend to consider it as its own thing rather than a sequel. In my mind it's more like a spin-off.

I grew up with Neutopia 1&2. While I liked them as a kid (mostly because I had a Turbo Express and it was awesome to have such huge games on the go), as an adult I've grown to dislike the extreme linearity of the games and strongly prefer Z1 to both while Z2&3 only slightly more IE they're 4th (Neutopia 2) and 5th (1) place in my list of Zelda-likes. GAW follows distantly behind.
I would play the frick out of a N2 hack that just makes it into Z1.

That's the one on Game Gear, right?
I don't think the lefties on r*ddit even know what a PC Engine is. Try again.

SMS. The Game Gear game was Ax Battler, which plays most similarly to Gargoyle's Quest than any Zelda game, though it is far, far inferior to it.

They don't have to, it's been released on Nintendo's Virtual Console like 5 times.

Virtual console died out years ago. Lefties don't know about the game.

It was on the Wii, one of the most popular fricking things in recent history.

Zelda 2: Best movement and combat on NES. Extremely fun to replay. Classic game. Precursor to stuff like Demon's Souls.

Zelda 1: Also a great game. Had a much better and more elaborate open-world than any console game at the time by a big gap. However the combat and movement is too slow, too clunky, too limited. Disappointing considering that EAD had already figured out next-gen movement with SMB1. Still a classic.

Z1, by a lot. Not that Z2 is bad, just not exactly my type.

      Same.
And it is my type, I like sidescrolly platformy, roam around exploring games, but man do I fricking suck at video games that are remotely challenging.

Both, really. And I love ALttP and LA just as much. Every Zelda game is at least enjoyable but the ones that came out after the first four are worse in my opinion. Except for BoTW, I loved it a lot
