People keep thinking it's a dunk that the tell for AI art is fingers, not realizing that's a positive for AI art that you can't tell until you look at the fingers. In the time it takes you to open up Photoshop they can churn out quality images and then just edit the fingers with inpainting or traditional editing.
fingers are the go to thing to bring up because it represents how AI is very bad with many small details or intricately shaped things, like the glass and petal picnics in this thread or the vague blue crystals melding into a messy background in the op.

Stock Art and Marketing will be hit first, these generic images are very with AI to make thousands of.
More complex good shit is a few years down the line yet, but i wouldn't bet on it not replacing 70% of jobs in the field.
Not everyone in the art field is a master genius at what they do, a lot of people in regular jobs, like every field are average at it.
The true masters will never have to fear replacement, but if you are realistic those are like 10% of people in a given field.
And if you don't need the "average" jobs anymore the competition for the good ones will get fierce, as it means getting good or getting out.

I think I've seen like 5 different artists who have AI artifacts in their drawings, even if the biggest tells are clearly touched up by them at the end (extra finger, melting bodies, disconnected limbs etc).
You can clearly see some color work or shadow that your usual artist wouldn't do unless he was some fricked up painter of ye olde age.
I do wonder how long it will take for people to turn around and start using it since I do remember the same reactions to people photobashing and using 3D on their art, If anything feels artists will be the ones who use this shit the most.

it would either have to be strict with poses which means you would only be able to USE those poses, not strict at all which runs the risk of the same problem (trying to impose 3 different poses on top of each other) or autistically tagged which would be annoying for prompting (although it might work for fixing after the fact)
there were a few people who were trying to make hand loras/hypernets but we haven't heard from them in a while so I guess it's still out

If I don't enter a prompt, dimensions, a sampler, a model, the Lora to give her titty curtains, the seed, the seed variation, the vae, the image would be absolute trash. Instead in 5 minutes of work you got something that your biggest nitpick was not liking the length of the fingers. You don't really need to have a successful career to be an artist, but it's hard to call yourself a voice actor if you don't actually do voice acting work.

There are hundreds, if not thousands of people that make their meager living on pateron drawing waifus for people. Now people with a hobbyist-level understanding of tech can generate their own waifus for themselves and others, cutting artgays out of the market. I appreciate their contributions to my porn collection, but times are tough and generating a theoretically infinite number of images for free right now is more efficient than commissioning some gay $100 to deliver the product in a month.

No, it's a watermark that you could interpret as the Getty image watermark but it's not the Getty image watermark. More over those images likely have a prompt something along the lines of "stock image of X". 90% of stock images have that watermark in that same spot so the model trains to recreate those types of details. What you won't find is that exact image. Hell you won't even find one that legibly says "Getty Image". It doesn't exist and so they're going to lose.

I think by the end of the decade we're gonna have fullblown animated tv series based on AI art, with the scripts based on Chat-GPT tier story prompts, with characters voiced by AI. Now, I don't think the AI will be able to do a perfect job with it by 2030, but it'll be good enough that you only need some touch-up artists, an editor instead of a writer, and some audio-engineers to get the inflections and cadences right on the voices.
I work in hollywood as prop artist and what took me a long time to make like days where I was not even sleeping running ragged to get shit done in time, I can now make in hours or less. Sometimes I get 3 days to finish an entire movies props and to slam it out in less time and have it ready and completed is amazing. I can even use the ai to make a shittier version and have SOMETHING ready and then spend all of the rest of the time polishing it knowing we have SOMETHING ready to go if I suddenly start vomiting nonstop or something. I can run prompts while I fricking vomit in the other room. My stress goes from 3000% to fricking 50%.
The problem with these "artists" is theyve dedicated their lives into a niche subject and its not even something they are good at. They are mediocre unskilled and replaceable. They are like my dad that can program a vcr but cant program his youtube tv channels and have tv shows record because they refuse to adapt to a better designed system. So he sits and watches the fricking tv guide like its 2002 still instead of just clicking a show he likes and switch through them in his playlist as he wants.
I learned how to do computer stuff, paint, draw, paint on pc, photoshop, run prompts, make youtube videos, do special effects, make fricking quake skins, etc etc etc. All my skills make me a huge jack of all trades and I can flip myself into any position to make things work. The problem is that I can do this and these "fake artists" cant because they arent creative, arent artistic, and are just a BAD ROBOT that can only do the same repeated push button task. AI drags their corpse through the street and shames them. If they were a real artist, theyd see ai for what it is: A fricking rocket engine with a gas pedal for your pencil and imagination.

I think it's got potential for mixing styles together, but I also don't think it's going to be the death of all artists. I think I've seen like 5 different artists who have AI artifacts in their drawings, even if the biggest tells are clearly touched up by them at the end (extra finger, melting bodies, disconnected limbs etc).
You can clearly see some color work or shadow that your usual artist wouldn't do unless he was some fricked up painter of ye olde age.
I do wonder how long it will take for people to turn around and start using it since I do remember the same reactions to people photobashing and using 3D on their art, If anything feels artists will be the ones who use this shit the most.

1) the models are only like 5gb in size. They couldn't possible fit billions of images into that space

3) even if the model managed to produce a work that infringed on the copyright of an existing work that's a matter to be taken to with the person that published that second work. In the same way that you don't sue Adobe if I use Photoshop to recreate your art

More over those images likely have a prompt something along the lines of "stock image of X". 90% of stock images have that watermark in that same spot so the model trains to recreate those types of details. What you won't find is that exact image. Hell you won't even find one that legibly says "Getty Image". It doesn't exist and so they're going to lose.

I think by the end of the decade we're gonna have fullblown animated tv series based on AI art, with the scripts based on Chat-GPT tier story prompts, with characters voiced by AI. Now, I don't think the AI will be able to do a perfect job with it by 2030, but it'll be good enough that you only need some touch-up artists, an editor instead of a writer, and some audio-engineers to get the inflections and cadences right on the voices.
And it will still be worse than what the leftists in hollywood are making

I work in hollywood as prop artist and what took me a long time to make like days where I was not even sleeping running ragged to get shit done in time, I can now make in hours or less. Sometimes I get 3 days to finish an entire movies props and to slam it out in less time and have it ready and completed is amazing. I can even use the ai to make a shittier version and have SOMETHING ready and then spend all of the rest of the time polishing it knowing we have SOMETHING ready to go if I suddenly start vomiting nonstop or something. I can run prompts while I fricking vomit in the other room. My stress goes from 3000% to fricking 50%.
The problem with these "artists" is theyve dedicated their lives into a niche subject and its not even something they are good at. They are mediocre unskilled and replaceable. They are like my dad that can program a vcr but cant program his youtube tv channels and have tv shows record because they refuse to adapt to a better designed system. So he sits and watches the fricking tv guide like its 2002 still instead of just clicking a show he likes and switch through them in his playlist as he wants.
I learned how to do computer stuff, paint, draw, paint on pc, photoshop, run prompts, make youtube videos, do special effects, make fricking quake skins, etc etc etc. All my skills make me a huge jack of all trades and I can flip myself into any position to make things work. The problem is that I can do this and these "fake artists" cant because they arent creative, arent artistic, and are just a BAD ROBOT that can only do the same repeated push button task. AI drags their corpse through the street and shames them. If they were a real artist, theyd see ai for what it is: A fricking rocket engine with a gas pedal for your pencil and imagination.

Actually, trained AI can draw pretty decent hands. You need a decent GPU for that, though.
Look at how latent diffusion works. It's going from noise to an image step by step. Fingers are small and hard to "see" in the noise so it's hard to determine what they'll look like until the end steps when they're wrong. Newer models are getting better at it.

You'll still need a few to come up with the really unique and cutting edge stuff, but if you're a small indie dev or director, you can spin up 100000000000 "rough" sketches of anything and then clean up the imperfections yourself or with a single artist.
It'll be a while before graphic designers and production artists are at risk, but this shit is evolving very quickly. Its going to nearly eliminate fiver level art in the short term. At best you'll have guys who are better at using and cleaning images selling their services.

Yeah artists are homosexual-y and had *long* since been destroying their own communities with lowest common denominator artforms like furhomosexualry and pornography and fanart, etc. But there was still a very small kindred group of international artists that genuinely cared about providing quality artwork to the masses. Those people that really cared about everyone might feel empowered by the AI artform, still, to dedicate, for some artists, upwards of 40 years to an artform that is entirely annihilated over a few months.
People are laughing at artists worldwide but they just lost three giants in a short amount of time. Kim Jung Gi, Kentarou Miura, and Kazuki Takahashi were all a massive influence on the international community of people who genuinely cared about making non goyslop, authentic, sincere artworks with all of their hearts and souls poured in. A lot of us don't even care about AI, it's more of the realization that there's absolutely zero-effort to try as an artist anymore.
These morals about striving your best to be the best person you can be, a lot of that came from the artists personal endeavor to strive and succeed at a difficult thankless task for decades at a time. Even in modern times when this become trendy to shit all over devs for minor inconveniences, for being less than perfect, there was still a semblance of providing the best thing for a particular audience.
Hard work and dedication has died with the artist. Anyone who tries from this point on will be ripped and thrown into a database where they can be devalued to zero same as everything else. Someone trying their best will be devalued to zero and drained of everythingt hey had been taught made them special.
