ive finished the regional dex in all the games ive played recently yeah, the actual pokemon catching part is one of the very few things they havent casualized to shit, especially if you hate the look of quick balls
I've started to catch everything in regular pokeballs for this reason.

I've never completed a dex other than yellows and that was with the ditto trick and a hex chart. been working on the pokemmo natdex since it's required for endgame content but that's a long term lazy project.
Just not worth it especially if they hid some behind limited events,one chance per save, and etc

Of course I do. It's a lot easier in modern gens, so why not? Finishing out the regional dex gives me enough for the living dex I made back in gens 6 & 7.
I never did since it has always been impossible without cheats or visiting local events to receive mythicals, which I didn't know about at the time.
Now it's mosty people who have a living dex and transfer the old mons to the new games
I mostly quit buying new games after xy. I did catch em all during that time though. I bought scarlet with plans to catch em all but the dogshit performance made me quit 1 gym in.
PLA and Violet are literally the first two games I completed the dex in. I've been playing since gen 1 was released.
games don't have all the pokemon, even if they did, in game storage isn't enough to have them all, you have to pay for nintendo online, I don't care if it's the norm now, the online is still shit, why bother

I've never completed a single pokedex before and I'm working on a home living dex right now. I don't entirely understand why I'm doing it since I'm ~$75 in the hole for it since starting, but it's fun
I did up to gen 7 then obviously that apocalypse happened. Nowadays I only play rom hacks and nuzlockes.
Not my fault the devs themselves stopped caring.
