No? X only shows up like 5 minutes before you leave the RPD anyway. And you can always return once you get the T-bar in the sewers. He'll be gone then so you can browse around afterwards and get anything you missed.

      DEmake2 was all around butchered.
X himself was meant to be a B-route surprise, further mixing up the familiar-on-surface formula.

      >I've only watched speedruns lol! :^)
Of course you homos never played the game yourself.

Borrow isn’t supposed to be comfy, you gay. It should make you anxious.

        >Of course you homos never played the game yourself.
Anon, as soon as he shows up you get the gear, run to the other side and get the jack, then go to the clock tower. That's like 5 minutes. Before you see him you have already picked up the club key, and when you're exploring the RPD for the first time, you will have seen a door with a giant club sign. It's not rocket science.
If you're playing Claire then he chases you outside but even then he doesn't go past the fence. As Leon, you never see him again until the lab, so you can return to an empty RPD during the sewer segment.

          Not an argument, schizo.
The average first time playthrough is 6-9 hours.
X itself easily occupies majority of the whole FIRST HALF, which is all of the cop station. He's a road block that goes against everything RE stood for.

I am playing RE3 Remake right now and I think it's pretty amazing so far. What's the problem with it? Why does Ganker seethe about it?

Everything that was bad with DEmake2 + even MORE cuts and idiotic changes.
Literally half of the game is cut out, Nemmy is somehow FAR WORSE than X in Dem2 while it's supposed to be the other way around, the gore systems got nerfed, and the characters are idiotic caricatures. There's also none of the randomized elements nor route choices the OG RE3 had.

You acted like I never played the game. I proved that I did and you got pissy.
            >X itself easily occupies majority of the whole FIRST HALF
Maybe on Second Run, and even then he doesn't spawn until you pass the STARS office door. You can literally go backwards and avoid the spawn until later. On first run, he's only on the final stretch of the RPD. To say he takes up the majority of the first half is straight up disingenuous.

That's your only argument? That you're bad? Do you never improve at video games or something? I play every RE blind, then get better at them as I replay them. On the first encounter, yeah, he was alarming, then you realize you can lose him after a couple of turns. You can straight up outrun him too.

It is not. The gameplay is generic 2010s' over-shoulder shooter, that ruins the atmosphere, cinematography, and result the use of artificial prompts and whatnot to guide the player. The terrible auto-balanced difficulty pampers casuals and punishes functioning human beings. Ink Ribbons being optional hard-mode-only thing, and inventory space being more than twice bigger than before also are turbo gay. Roughly half of enemy types is also just cut out, and half of the remaining foes are now same-face humanoids.
The last nail are all those handholdy mission objective reminders and a fricking chegat booklet that guides you through RPD's riddles.

Here's a curveball, I think he enhances it in a way. When you do have moments of safety, either in a puzzle room he won't enter or saveroom, the comfiness is sent into overdrive, you actually feel you have a threat to shelter against. one of the most comfy moments in resident evil before was locking nemesis out of the police station and having at least a moment of safety.

      >he thinks horror is synonymous with thriller
Horror can (and, I'd argue) should be slow, off-putting, and unnerving. It should be psychological. A visit to the ice cream store can be horrific if the proprietor is just that right shade of uncanny and creepy.
I think that Mr. X ruins a lot of that atmosphere, and turns RE2R into more of a thriller than horror. He could have enhanced the atmosphere if he weren't so big and silly-looking. Imagine a lurker or something stalking you in the dark, skulking about just out of view. That's horror. Mr. X is just action slop.

That logic may work for some 1 and a half our movie, or a gay analogue horror story on the interwebs, but not a game. Later, but likely sooner, the player real realize theyre is nothing to back up that threat of something in the dark. You NEED the gigga homie to chase you. You need a fricking payoff or what the hell is the point? You got a blue ball fetish?

I love re2make and think it's a brilliant game, with a perfect premise which could be expanded into new games in different settings
But I wish they made the following changes
    1) if Mr X sees you entering a save room, he will follow you inside
    >it's comical that he cannot enter save rooms no matter what
    >he should be able to follow you in, but if he doesn't see you go in, he never enters
    >entering the room and not knowing whether he'll follow you in or not would be kino
    2) enhance his ability to listen to you and find you
    >iirc he beelines for you if he hears you shooting, but I never knew if he could hear you running or walking
    >it always seemed random, or that he inevitably comes across you no matter how quiet you are
    >I want to hear him upstairs and immediately have to sneak, or freeze, and wait for him to go
    >add in say physics objects you can knock over, or barging into doors, or other sources of noise you can cause that can give you away
    3) killing Mr X removes him from the world for a long time, instead of him just kneeling for a minute and immediately following
    >he should disappear from the map for a varying amount of time
    >he should return with cosmetic damage that gets worse and worse each time (think the terminator)
    >so you can spend a lot of ammo and risk to remove him and be able to move freely around the map, but you don't know when he'll return
    4) he should have multiple opportunities to ambush you
    >iirc there's one possible scripted sequence where he smashes through the wall, which I never got unless I went out of my way to trigger it
    >he should be able to hear you moving, guess where you're going and lie in wait
    >the player should be forced to notice that his footsteps went silent, and guess where he is lying in wait
    5) he should be able to manipulate the environment to make your progress harder
    >blocking doors or breaking stairs or something
    6) he should be fully present in the game world at all times (except while respawning) for the above to work

I've recently been playing through almost all of the games(no OG 1,2 and 3 since I'm a consolegay) for the first time, the ones I already played were 6 and 5 years ago, more recently OG 4.

    >REmake
Cool atmosphere, but the backtracking(especially as Chris, the only one I played) and figuring out how to dodge zombies and where to go at the beginning were filtering me until a friend guided me. After the mansion the game gets pretty linear though, it very frontloaded. Undeniable classic but very dated.

    >RE2make
Pretty much the same deal as REmake but with modern controls, it's less atmospheric and the RPD is less complex, but it has more involved gameplay and Mr X is pretty much the highlight of the series for me. The 2nd run was pretty pointless and repetitive.

    >RE3make
Pretty lackluster, it's very action oriented but without the good level design from RE4 it gets stale super early for how short it is. I was expecting Nemesis to be Mr X on steroids, I was disappointed for how scripted his appearances were and how easily he goes down with a grenade. Also, why does Jill curse so much in this game? No other character even from RE2 cursed like this, is this the source of the "FRICKING" posting on the SH threads?

I'm playing Code Veronica X now, it's even more dated than REmake and pretty miserable to control. I don't think I'll have much fun, the atmosphere is super corny and not even the least spooky.

For now my ranking is RE4>RE2make>REmake>RE3make>RE6>RE5

Are the CGI movies a fun watch? I know they're canon for what it's worth, and they have pretty ridiculous fight scenes

      >Are the CGI movies a fun watch?
I've only seen Degeneration and Damnation and I enjoyed both.
