I don't give a frick, I play on PC and I don't play any activision game, Sekiro doesn't count since it's owned by Fromsoft.
I'm just saying how it seems, every new article regarding this shit is "needs to be looked at more extensively" and then nothing, except another country needs this "looked at more extensively" etc etc.
It's a pretty cool story.
The short version is that Mexico was a third rate market either being raped by distribution monopolies with Nintendo and an afterthought for Sony.
At the time Xbox entered the Mexican market in like 2002 Mexico was at the mercy of importing companies like Gamela Mexico which imported Nintendo games. They basically had a monopoly on videogames distribution which led to insanely high prices for brand new department store N64 and Gamecube games and consoles. They were like twice the price compared to the US.
So while Mexico was being pounded raw by Gamela and Playstation was merely a Sony afterthought with small selections and shitty support, Microsoft came along and officially distributed the console themselves, with competitive prices, actual first party support and warranty (big deal back then) and huge game variety in stores. Microsoft had huge display cases and demo stations in most department stores with giant cabinets full of games. Sony and Nintendo had shitty way smaller displays.
Also huge marketing campaigns. Xbox ads were everywhere back then like magazines and TVs.
So a bunch of companies were abusing the market or outright ignoring it, Microsoft saw the opportunity and swoop in. The Xbox was the best selling console each gen in Mexico since the OG Xbox and until the Switch.
Every country ran 2 phases so far and every country let it pass. The UK is making a show despite these investigations always happen behind closed doors. Sony tried to weaponize zoomers like Epic did and they failed as they are burning their leftover goodwill with people on a daily basis.
The platform and ecosystem have never been more attractive. Once the first party games start dropping at a brisk cadence it'll be far and away the best era for Xbox, and the best part? It'll be like that in perpetuity.
>Once the first party games start dropping at a brisk cadence
We've been hearing this every year for the past decade. Even if Microsoft does start releasing games again, it still doesn't make Xbox more attractive since all those same games will be free on PC day and date.
phil spencer has already come out in favor of platform wide bans
have fun getting banned for some shit in minecraft and seeing the ban spread to halo, call of duty, overwatch, WoW, diablo, forza, gears, and more.
Frick them, this is why I will buy all my games physically. If I call someone a Black person and get banned at least I can make a new account and keep everything.
Man I hope this comes true. I'm always eyeing, the older, cheaper games when they are on sale but never pull the trigger because paying 20 bucks for the campaign and a dead multiplayer is still too much.
As a fan of Jap games, the Series X generation is currently blowing away the Xbone generation by a long shot for me. The only thing that’s missing is actual Japanese exclusives which the 360 had loads of and even the Xbone had a couple.
I fully acknowledge that Microsoft must continue their efforts to get more and more Japanese support on its console. As an Xbox owner and fan, I don’t want the platform to miss out on games like Guilty Gear, 13 Sentinels, or The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles.
However - what an astonishing and remarkable turn of events. What a feel good sequence. My heart is a-flutter and it genuinely feels like the sun is shining on my face today. Why?
-Xbox would have a Japanese developer as part of its first-party: Tango Gameworks
-All Yakuza games on Xbox
-Nearly all Spike Chunsoft games on Xbox
-Street Fighter makes its return to Xbox
-Atlus RPGs like Soul Hackers and Persona come to Xbox
-Xbox consistently selling over a thousand units per week in Japan
-Xbox crossing 300k units in Japan less than two years after launch
-Team Ninja back to releasing games on Xbox with Wo Long
-Kojima announcing a partnership for an exclusive first-party game
-Death Stranding coming to PC Game Pass
-All sorts of other niche Japanese games coming to Xbox as well
>Wheres the equivalent to lost planet, oblivion, dead rising, doa4, halo3, fable 2, mass effect, ninja gaiden 2, pgr 3-4 etc.
motherfricker if you support the Microsoft they will come
It's hilarious how you think this. Microsoft is doomed to put out underwhelming games until the end of time. They have something truly, fundamentally wrong with their development atmosphere and this is coming from someone who would rather have them do well over Sony.
You can immediately tell people that cry about YOU WILL OWN NOTHING WILL BE HAPPY HURR DURR are underage election tourists that weren't around in the 90s.
Gamepass is pretty much Blockbuster but online.
>Gamepass is pretty much Blockbuster but online.
Really? I must have missed when Bill Gates walked into every Blockbuster in the country and started pulling games off the shelves after an arbitrary time limit.
>I must have missed when Bill Gates walked into every Blockbuster in the country and started pulling games off the shelves after an arbitrary time limit.
It was called shelf space rotation. You couldn't find SNES games after the N64 came out, and even games that weren't really popular were rotated out as well.
It was never like you could walk into a Blockbuster in 1999 and get a fricking NES game or something.
A lot of these won’t be available, as much as I’d like them to. Specifically Marvel, TMNT and Transformers. The licence between Activision and those properties have expired, the ones that were available on the Microsoft store like Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark are now no longer available.
It’s shit, but I don’t believe this will happen, I hope it does tho.
cod 4 campaign is good, multiplayer has been dead since launch on pc and was eventually ruined with microtransactions and guns that werent even in the original game. mw2 is campaign only, doesnt even have spec ops
quads of truth. cod mp hasnt been worth playing in a decade but every so often they put out a kino singleplayer campaign. infinite warfare is the best sci-fi shooter I've played since halo ce

I'm talking about new games, backwards compatibility is great (I think Xbox is the best in the console industry at this), but I'm still waiting for a new tony hawk and whatnot.
nothing you happy own will.
what the frick is the point of this image? 18 call of duty games and a random assortment of 360 games?
Transformers and Prototype are kino, you pleb.
>Marvel games
>transformers games
>tmnt game
>tony hawk games
>skylanters games
>Not an issue with licenses
YEAH, I am thinking is SUDAKA o'clock
the activision acquisition looks less likely by the day
It's gonna pass.
does it tho
>the activision acquisition looks less likely by the day
come on anon, surely you’re at the acceptance part of grief

>Sony cope
Yeah I'm sure Sony will convince everyone there's no alternative to fricking Call of Duty, Crash Bandicoot and Diablo
>the activision acquisition looks less likely by the day
Ok Rajeesh
That's almost as high as Japan, others can't even compare what the frick is going on.

I just pirate.

Phil Spencer is the realest homie
Can't wait to play the updated, improved and extended edition of Deathloop next week.
Imagine those poor sonybros who paid $70 for an inferior version
>No thanks, I would rather own my games on steam

>over 1/4th of the list is CoD
Are the original CoD games not going to be available on gamepass? Frick, man, that was all I was looking forward to from the franchise.
Where did you get this idea?
Man I hope this comes true. I'm always eyeing, the older, cheaper games when they are on sale but never pull the trigger because paying 20 bucks for the campaign and a dead multiplayer is still too much.
Pirate the games, and play them on modded servers.
I'm playing on console
>Pirate the games
PC only gamers are the true cancer
>You have to buy the 15 years old dead game that is rarely on sale
>buying games when you know every company ruined all their franchises and theres no reason they wont do the same to new franchises
you are the cancer
keep sething, you would've done the same if you only had a PC.
the picture in the OP doesn't showcase them, only the newer titles.
I've never understood how Xbox cultists could possibly exist.
xbros whats the best deal to stack game pass as of now? is the gold trick still working
Yes it is working, the cheapest 12 month gold you can find anywhere is the best deal at any given time.

And BBTAG which is really surprising

>2 games worth playing if you didn't played them at release
nice shilling microshit
no black ops 2, sad
I was hoping they'd revive that
How are the cod 4 and mw2 remake? I don't want to play them on steam because of VAC
cod 4 campaign is good, multiplayer has been dead since launch on pc and was eventually ruined with microtransactions and guns that werent even in the original game. mw2 is campaign only, doesnt even have spec ops
Well, I won't complain
playing CoD Campaigns have been my yearly guilty pleasure
I pirate them just to play the campaign sometimes

?
Is this real or fake cause Holy shit I cannot wait to play the transformers games.online again
fake, those licensed games are never coming back
>games I care about in that list:
Can't they just get Sakaguchi back to make more high-budget JRPGs? Surely MS can money hat that easily.
The thing is who gives a shit about JRPGs.
It's a minority anyways.
>The thing is who gives a shit about JRPGs.
Persona 5 Royal is advertised front page of Xbox now.
I want those weird PS3 era JRPGs like White Knight Chronicles
>no tony hawk
>no skate
>no guitar hero
>only 1 good immersive sim (prey)
>no arkham game
No.
All Skate games are on Gamepass already because of EA play.
I'm talking about new games, backwards compatibility is great (I think Xbox is the best in the console industry at this), but I'm still waiting for a new tony hawk and whatnot.
>all skate games still available
>marketed constantly on the dashboard in ads for gamepass
>servers have been down for years
fricking EA
I thought there was some frickery with deadpool licensing.
Xbox is literally the worst it's ever been. 10+ years without a single really good game
It’s like the Steam situation. Less first party games than ever but Xbox is still getting more games overall than ever before
>does anyone else think we are approaching the golden Xbox years, potentially surpassing the 360 generation
You look like that though.
No and I don't see anything positive in renting games on a console you paid money for.
Oh Cool, Crash and Spyro
