Does anyone know for sure if the torture "minigame" is harder ot easier in MGS2? Like is it easily doable for a normal person with a normal controller when they couldn't do it in MGS1? Trying to assess whether I prefer 1 or 2 and this might be a factor. Not the time to play through the game just for this right now

i can tell you that i both hate and suck ASS at mashing segments in games and i never have failed any of them in metal gear, so you can take it from me that the difference between any of them is negligible at absolute best
you are not as bad as you think because I wasn't able to get the meryl ending until I cheated on an emulator years later, I must have the absolute worst bottom percentile stone hands.
I've never completed the torture scene in MGS1 legitimately, I always used a turbo-fire controller. But I remember doing it in MGS2 relatively easily in MGS2.
It must be a difference between NTSC and PAL versions or something, I don't understand how it's possible without. I even remember magazines in the UK telling you easier ways to do it because it was so difficult.

I think so. I never had a problem with 2 or TS despite beating them both dozens of times. But mgs1 is still a b***h.
I am not joking when I say even using a rapid button click program, it still had trouble keeping up with Solidus' torture on European extreme. How the hell do they expect a human to do that?

I never bothered to beat mgs1 on extreme because it looked tedious. The torture in mgs2 on european extreme is borderline impossible though. It's a shame because the game is a lot of fun on european extreme but that torture section is completely unreasonable
Did Twin Snake make it easier than in the original?
I heard that it's actually possible to hit the button so fast in Twin Snakes that Ocelot will think it's auto-fire and instakill Snake.
