Does Gen 3 have the most solid starter trio after Gen 1?
I really don't think they have a weak link by comparison to some of the other gens (2 has Meganium, 5 has Emboar and Samurott, 6 has Chesnaught, 7 has Primarina, 8 has all three, and 9 has Quaquaval).

>Does Gen 3 have the most solid starter trio after Gen 1?
no, Gen 7 is.
Swampert is too shitty and boring.
Nice bait
Most likely, everything went to shit after gen 5. Now disbort troon raiders will not stop shitting on your thread, because they can't allow anybody to say gen 6 is shit, like their pathetic disbort troon brazilian lives.
more like gen 4. gen 5 starters are disgusting
5 starters are ass but I will admit gen 5 still has some gems here and there.
I think after 7 is where the ratio of good to shit Pokemon started popping up.
gen 6 and 7 already have a frickton of designs that are bland and uninteresting.
turdterra, shitpoleon and your stupid goku wannabe monkey aren't good starters, frick you.
nta but they really are. Very solid, cohesive designs. You have to cope dude. Please.
>JUST COPE
You sound like begging, instead of actually being secure of your shitty opinions.
>Gen 1 = Gen 4 > Gen 3 > Gen 6 > Gen 7 = Gen 9 >>>>>>> Gen 8
/Thread
The torchic line looks fricking stupid, the treecko line is like the only starter where the middle evo looks better then the final stage and the mudkip line is just a lame version of Quagsire
Yes. Ignore the memesters. Sceptile, Swampert, and Blaziken are all top-tier bros.
yeah. hoenn is still shit, and so is the entire dex.
Kys
kill me yourself, pathetic shit eater.
Jump off a cliff you fat ginger c**t
what a sad existence you live to actively dislike fug
I’ve played gens 1-8 and these are still my favorite starter trio. They have nice color schemes, they had interesting starter types and unique moves at time of introduction, and they have just the right amount of personality where they still feel like animals foremost and not furries with solidified personalities.
I don’t really hate any starter trio but starters these days just kinda feel like sonic characters
>I don’t really hate any starter trio but starters these days just kinda feel like sonic characters
Yeah the fursona/humanoid starter evos aren't my favorite at all. Got fricking 2 of them this gen.
GameFreak made Skeledirge for whiny anthro-hating babies like you. You've got no right to complain.
>Get two of the thing I don't like and only one of the thing I do like
>No reason to complain
?????
By what metric
>Torchic line:
Pretty decent line despite being the first "fire and fighting starter" trope.
>Mudkip line:
Objectively one of the best starters. Design goes from cute to cool seamlessly, so good it's used for speedruns and battle frontier and its even a good unique typing.
>Treeko line:
Fricking horrendous in GBA games. The other 2 get a complimentary additional typing and moves to make use of their newfound STAB...Treeko gets fury cutter and stays mono grass. Grovyle is a cool design, but the other 2 aren't as good. Its the only starter I've ever boxed.
>Does Gen 3 have the most solid starter trio after Gen 1?
No, gen 3 has the single best set of starters, gen 1 comes 2nd and gen 2 3rd. All in all, the starters seem to have gotten worse over time. In paldea for example, there is but 1 line whose final stage is not shit it's the Sprigatito line
I don't get why people aren't big fans of the Johto starters, I love those little guys.
Without nostalgia they're just budget/less cool versions of the Kanto trio. They're only selling point was being the first set of new starters.
Hoenn was when starters got interesting
Sorry kiddo, but they planned to add mudkip since gen 2, and for some reason they didn't. So you can't properly take credit for swampert. Cope forever.
>a badger is a dragon
>a gator is a turtle
>a sauropod is a frog
makes sense.
>Mechanically identical to Charizard for some strange reason + badgers are less cool than dragons
>Just an aquatic reptile after an aquatic reptile with standout feature that further highlights the water element
>Cartoon sauropod with flower after a frog creature with chimeric elements with flower
Yes.
I personally like Meganium, but for a lot of people it looks too plain to them.
Typhlosion is an angry eclair covered in fire.
Feraligatr is just plain ugly.
Feraligatr is based on an animal that is not pretty in anyway, and also stop thinking of food, fatso
>Feraligatr is based on an animal that is not pretty in anyway
That doesn't mean it has to be ugly as well. They should have done something interesting and made it more feminine instead.
yeah show me those pretty female crocodiles, crocodile fricker
https://files.catbox.moe/yjapjf.jpeg
>Anthro
>shit as well
I have seen better
Take that back about Feraligatr right now you frick
You're making people who like Meganium look bad.
>Feraligatr is just plain ugly.
*Enamorus
>for is ugly
Based, I picked the alligator thinking its last evo would be intimidating and I got what I ordered. I will never forgive gen 3 for its bubble butt tho
>no exposure
>no buffs
>no shilling
>no respect
>no love
TPC was too afraid to show off the new Pokemon during Gen 2 so most of the marketing still went to Gen 1. To be fair Gen 2 starters were allowed a meager bit of spotlight during gen 2 but even then most of the shilling when to the idiotic baby pokemon (hense wehy Gen 2 is hated for being "babyish". Then afterwards Game Freak spent the last 25 years pretending Johto starters don't exist while KANTOOO and Hoenn starters get fricking everything.
hi Joe
>Typhlosion is an angry eclair covered in fire.
stop thinking about food
>Feraligatr is just plain ugly.
stop getting filtered
>treecko looks like treecko
>grovyle looks like a chicken with treecko's color scheme
>sceptile looks like a bigger, fiercer treecko
>WTF grovyle is da best???
tired of these people, go back to your mystery dungeon general or furry discords
cute bait
They're my 4th favorite, but still a pretty dope set
I'd swap the gen 7 and gen 6 trios (I like rpgs) but otherwise I agree.
Gen 7 is also based on RPG classes. They feel like an extension of Gen 6's philosophy which is why I rated them higher
Forgot link, go nuts
https://tiermaker.com/create/starter-pokemon-trios-gen-1-pla-15130865
objectively correct
i'd switch Hoenn and johto and move unova down one tier, but otherwise solid
Meowscarada mogs every other starter in existence.
sceptile is a bromon. meowscarada only exists for fap material
Where does this image even come from? It's so old and it seems official almost
Grovyle is cooler and better than shittyass Sceptile
Both Gen 3 and 4 are pretty solid.
gotta agree in tis one, 3 based designs, i like hoenn a lot, maybe is my favourite region starter wise
Nu-/vp/ will tell you the FIGHTING wiener based on wienerFIGHTING is a fursuit mon while applauding CHARIZARD in the same breath
3>2>1>4>5>6>7>8>9
Sceptile is the weak link. Also you are a colossal homosexual
Gen 8 has the best starters by far.
>7 has Primarina
That's not really a weak link at all. Totally get not liking it, but it serves its purpose really well and rounds off that trio really well. Go anywhere outside of /vp/ and 7's trio is generally just as if not more popular than Hoenn's, 1/3/7 are indisputably at the top.
>Does Gen 3 have the most solid starter trio after Gen 1?
not even close
BEHOLD
MY OPINION
3 > Typhlosion/Feraligatr > Charizard > 4 > 5 > 6 >>> shit >>>> 7 = 8 = 9
