Of crouse, great gameplay, wide as an ocean deep as a puddle
Some zoomers and a lot of millenials don't know how to play games, they like to watch more, that's why almost every game has the brain dead option of "cinematic" experience. That's why BG3, Last of US, God of war, etc are so popular

That must be why its so popular with WoW players on twitch.
They always branch out to those type of games, but never play a fighting game, tactical fps, or something like Slay the Spire, its always movie game, with useless rpg stats, and items.
All the streamers are worse than normies at the games aswell. And they don't allow backseat gaming so you just sit there getting frustrated at their moronic choices. Frick streamers yo. Especially the wymyn with face cam larger than 1/4th of the screen.
There is some, but there isn't more thought beyond " range attacks get on high ground, melee swarm enemy". The shove ability is about the only move where you need to pay attention to your surroundings for maximum efficiency, but this is about as deep as 5e is with an alright DM. You get one or two interesting interactions, but is otherwise sort of swallow
so its not to much different than elder scrolls combat, thats something you could learn from a 30 second youtube video, or someone telling you, and I guess than you are playing at max efficiency.
It takes a little bit more than elder scrolls, but yeah it isn't complicated, you have a few complications like "advantage and disadvantages" and "tough terrain" but a window pops uo and explains it in a couple sentences and it's easy to understand.

>Comparing CRPG combat to left clicking over and over until enemy dead
Have you people lost it?
It's not a huge difference between spamming R without moving and spamming the attack command on your turn without doing anything else, they're both fundamentally the same
No, mindlessly pressing one button over and over again is mindlessly pressing the same button over and over again. I'd like to have to choose which attack or spell works best, but melee is just "main atttack" "end turn" over and over again.

then just use other fricking attacks? It's not like the game doesn't give you options

Because he believes it and is arguing with his better sense
I dont think you understood.
Yes, Elder Scrolls is left clicking over and over again, but this is the same thing with one or two variables.
The optimum way to play is basically the same with a few more things to remember.
Its not much different.

I think this is the worst comparison you could have made. OSRS high end pvm is dance dance revolution with prayer flicking and rs3 is an entirely different beast
find a spot on the battlefield that the enemy's red sight cones aren't on and youll be able to do a more powerful sneak attack. keep your melee companions near them and sneak attack will also work
there's more to it at higher levels but that's the basics
Threwing the children of Bhaal and god of murder away for the sake of lovecraftian Chtullu big bad seems like the biggest flip this game could make to BG players
It would if it weren't an RNG fest, but that's just D&D. Still fun, though when the AI goes full moron. Things like pushing a goblin into a spider pit then watching the boss jump himself down there to attack the spiders.
That's just the game telling you you fricked up. It was supposed to go you push boss into the pit, let him agro the spiders and then jump in after for a triple treat hell in a cell match.
Depends on what do you mean by it. It is more of using right spells and abilities to interract with enviromen and enemies, than stacking stats to kill everything straight (though possible too, but low level dnd 5e have very little stuff to do).
Why are we limited to 4 party members...
I'm using MC (Rogue), Shadowheart, Gale and Wyll. I want to add Karlach because I need a STR character to do the throw barrels and shit.
But I'm not removing Shadowheart, she's my main heroine. Gale is a wizard, it's my 2nd favorite class. Wyll is too strong to remove, his warlock cantrip actually does damage compared to my other two companions dogshit fireballs, and he's my animal speaker.
WHAT DO?
make shadowheart a warcleric if you must keep her a cleric but ideally you want a tanky frontline so make her pally or a barb or a fighter. you don't need 3 casters anyway.
Not really, the combat is more luck based than anything else. DnD mechanics don't translate very well to a video game, I much preferred DOS2 combat where things weren't so heavily RNG dependent.
it amazes me how bad people are at this game. It gives you a million tools to help rolls and you homosexuals chalk it up to luck instead of being lazy and not reading shit.
The underwater prison encounter was probably the most complicated "fight" in the game, assuming you want to save everyone. (The base is exploding and you have to run and open multiple cells in quite large area, then bring everyone back to the start. All within 6 turns.)
You have to specifically split up your team to match the enemies in the different rooms + requirements like lock-picking. You also can't just run past enemies, because they'll kill the prisoners otherwise.
I honestly wish they'd done more fights like that one or the gauntlet at the end, where you have to fight your way up the tower and avoid airship bobardment, always making sure to position so the next barrage doesn't cut off your progress.
If you want difficulty in every fight, play Tactician, but it drags on a lot.
I have a question. I can only have one concentration spell active on my cleric right? So there's no point in preparing any concentration skill because I always want Bless active?
>I can only have one concentration spell active
This is the rule in general. On my wizard I'll try to only have one concentration spell prepared and play around that.
How is that any different from your shitty JRPGs where you can just abuse mechanics in the same way to get some high school girl to tell you she loves you?
I don't know.
>He doesn't know

It was made by the creators of DOS2, so yes. Although not as deep as DOS2. 5e is streamlined and it worked well for this mainstream title.
It's clunky and buggy as frick and I'm pretty much a fan of turn-based combat.
>a lot of moronic threads about struggling with combat that requires you to think at least 2 steps forward

Is there anything similar to DoS2 environmental interactions? Like floor effects or telekinesis.
It has floor effects, oil and grease can be slipped on or caught on fire.

Is there a "pull" spell somewhere in the game? I find many situation where pulling enemies is to make them fall is better
Yeah, Shadowheart got it, though not sure and might be from an item. Orange thorny vine icon
Thorn Whip and Psionic Pull
Yes, there is a lot of utility and synergies with the mechanics and all the combat encounters are hand crafted so no trash mob fest like RTwP.
na see
You know what you are right, the combat is just RuneScape style. DO NOT PLAY THE GAME
RuneScape at least let's me hit what I'm swinging at
Runescape is (was) a good game. Don't do it dirty by comparing it to this homosexual troon slop
I think this is the worst comparison you could have made. OSRS high end pvm is dance dance revolution with prayer flicking and rs3 is an entirely different beast
>dnd
>depth
No it has the same problem as 5e in that you can just long rest spam to get through any encounter
i used to like playing ffta or fire emblem games but this combat system is imprecise and clunky
>misses due to failed roll
>THIS COMBAT SYSTEM IS IMPRECISE AND CLUNKY

Monies
how do you play as a sneak character
find a spot on the battlefield that the enemy's red sight cones aren't on and youll be able to do a more powerful sneak attack. keep your melee companions near them and sneak attack will also work
there's more to it at higher levels but that's the basics
if a baddy if engaged by your tank you can just keep nailing it with sneak attacks even if youre not hidden. it's kind of silly
Combat blows.

Respec Shadowheart into a more strength focused cleric and make her your frontline? Trickery is a bullshit domain anyway.
make shadowheart a warcleric if you must keep her a cleric but ideally you want a tanky frontline so make her pally or a barb or a fighter. you don't need 3 casters anyway.
The only depth in the game is homosexuals going deep inside animals
I like a genre in every single tier
I just killed the repulsor goblin boss by knocking him of a ledge with a water barrel that i had in Lae'zel's inventory...
peak divinity: original gate 3 gameplay

im taking ability improvement on level 6
str 17->18
but do I pump dex to 14 or con to 16?
what class?
fighter battlemaster
con and str.

It’s a gambling game. Every fight is RNG. Whether you win or lose an encounter is RNG.

Because at least that has soul.
Yeah, it's quite fun. I'm surprised at how much more I like the combat than BG1/2 just by virtue of it being turn-based rather than RTWP
