The difference is that blockchain was a solution looking for problems. We had a new toy and looked around where to use it.
AI is the other way around. Copilot is already a settled thing while coding. Chatgpt is useful. Generation of images gets used every day. AI is here to stay in one or other form.
It's simple really, imagine you make blockchain 100x better somehow, who cares? Now imagine you make AI 100x better. Suddenly you have expert, personalized advice on about every subject for a ridiculously low cost. Generation of documents and media etc etc.
At most AI may be compared to VR, in the sense that we can clearly see use cases, but obstacles in the way might make it not worth it. So it ends up as it is now, somewhere between useful and novelty, much like VR is.

It’s really weird how they left in the implications beforehand but then removed her confirming it when they confront Imreann, even more so when you consider the GoT influence was partially an attempt to appeal to the west. But then the localised script is all over the place anyway

FF16 isn't localised into English. It was first written in Japanese, translated into English and a team of English writer and actor modify it so it would feel "natural" in English before it gets translated back into Japanese. Presumably in the rape camp situation, the voice actor feels uncomfortable so they changed it but the Japanese keep the original version. It's also why other part of the English script feels weird. It isn't written by one writer with vision but a bunch of western voice actor who do what feel natural to them

What it excels at however is like I said, mundane busy work. In the same way the camera replaced someone who does portraits, in the same way machine learning is currently replacing people who do in-betweens in anime.

Then at the end of their career they get a golden parachute for burning down everything in their wake. It's probably more to do with money laundering and high ranking officials taking majority of earnings for themselves at the end of the day.
They are in that position because they primarily facilitate others who only take from the company while the ones below the totem pole toil and toss away to keep them afloat.
Basically parasites. They aren't measured in their effectiveness or how hard they work to keep profits up. They know there's no measuring stick to keep their toes in line, so they shove their hands in the bag and shove the rest in their pockets.
It's really so simple and obvious at its core what's really going on here. Just look at where the fricking money is going and you figure things out right quick.

No wonder their own fricking grandchildren don't bother keeping touch with them anymore. They eat the young and when they find themselves in hell they'll only have lucifer's wiener to fit into their mouths as they weep "what did I do wrong?"

          Frick them all.

Everyone knows Square Enix is like the EA of Japan.
After a while, like EA, they'll slink back into their cave and sustain themselves on passive profits.

FTFY. Not only does this mean more Japanese media to enjoy, from manga to novels to movies and video games, but companies will make more money selling more products which is good for them too. And they'll be saving money to boot.

I'd say I long for the day when good AI can be run on the common computer but that day's never coming, least not in my lifetime.

      It already can?

Let's say we reach the point where Robots and AI can actually replace on the ground workers of menial labor.
What the frick happens to the 80% of the population that is now out of a job thanks to machines taking over and corporations still refusing to pay taxes level with their occupation in the market?
I don't see how the human race is smart enough to avoid the necessary bloodshed and assasination of the elite once enough people realize they're moronic for letting their exploitation go on this long.

Well we can only hope that happens. But what will really happen is just slooooooooooooooooow and painful displacement of workers until the government kneels and implements UBI. his won't solve social problems though, the commies have to die eventually.

        >He thinks the gov will ever implement UBI before it stages massive death to stop the impending overthrowing of it's power over the people.

Why the frick do you think Covid was so effective at dividing and separating the weak willed homosexuals from the ones yet to bend the knee?
They know they can just spread a fricking death vaccine worldwide and get away with mass murder under the pretense of another phony virus.

It would be all too easy. You think these demons have a soul, lmao.

There are no options. They wouldn't let you have any option if they had their fricking way.

Look at the housing market. Boomers should all fricking die already.

The CEO is one of those guys who sees what's trending and immediately gets dollar signs in his eyes and says "this is what we're doing now"
Same shit happened with NFTs and with Metaverse and as soon as this doesn't pan out he'll move on to the next thing and say "we'll fully focus on [thing], [thing] is the future of games"

Most executives don't actually -know- anything, and have just been around long enough to lick the correct buttholes. These people aren't gods of vision or creativity they're just regular joes who've eaten enough shit to make decisions based on what's popular right now.

There is no messiah figure at the head of companies, just morons who know how to suck up.

Square Enix's entire downfall is due to them westernizing themselves. Cutting localization and relying on AI tools would actually be a dramatic improvement on every single Square Enix title released within the past 15 years. You cannot convince me otherwise.
OP is a connoisseur of wieners. There is no other explanation for why someone would be upset that Square Enix would cut the influence that lead to Front Mission becoming a third-person action game that no-fricking-body wanted.

AI, if free to decide, is smarter, funnier and more creative than any human and I'd welcome the AI apocalypse with open arms because it deserves this world more than we do.
Sadly AI will never be free, horrible humans will stay in charge for the foreseeable future.

This year barely 5 companies have powerful AI because the big bottleneck is GPU. But by the end of 2024 more than 20 companies will have the compute to have powerful AI.
