After you played for 1000 hours and spend $500 on DLC and subscriptions then it gets really good

    Typical MMO bullshit.
You will run brainless weekly dungeons for tokens, do daily busywork quests and do raids once or twice per week which are the only fun part.
Hood if you have lots of free time otherwise play something else.

Like what? There's nothing to play. I like immersive single player games btw.

I'd rather have a game just be cool raid fights instead of all the boring padding story and useless mmo mechanics on the side

I cant really tell from your webm if thats a new player running into the big orange circle you are supposed to avoid and getting launched out but living due to some expert healer or if he narrowly dodged the big AOE by doing some kind of epic dragoon backflip

        Anonymous

thats p7s, during purgation. that player needed to be centered on the platform he ended up on to take an aoe that also drops a timed ground aoe after, so that him and his entire party could move to the opposite platform after. if he had died on the bridge where he was, it was a wipe. he backflipped and just barely made it to where he had to be in time to take it. but because of his positioning this probably still resulted in a wipe unless everyone was aware of it.

he was out of position but recovered with the dragoon flip

no. your rotation gets better but it's basically the same all the way throughout. also the locations are the same, so you're not discovering new worlds and locations as you level up like in wow classic. you're basically just doing quest after quest of skipping dialogue and teleporting to the same places to talk to slightly different npcs. if you dont like the game by like level 30 just quit.

I think I'm going to just quit now. I'm so sick of people hyping up these lame, derivative ass time wasters. I haven't had any fun with a game since RE4 remake came out. Like a Dragon Ishin was the same exact shit as all the other Yakuza games just with samurai, I tried Return of the OBra Din and it was okay but boring ,shadows over loathing was entertaining for 4 or 5 hours but the shtick wore thin, Kenshi might be good if I put a little more effort in but I don't have the time to watch a bunch of tutorials on how to play or what to do, pizza tower was alright but didn't really grab me, I just want a good game to play...... I like JRPGs but I feel like I played all the good ones. Ugh.

yeah i love THM/BLM to death but its just an absolute trash class to start with and level with
game director favoritism makes it great at max level but because the director is only ever at max level no one pays any fricking attention to the experience of leveling it up

So should I give it a shot as a sword and shield kind of guy? Is the combat more satisfying that way?

no, don't play a tank until you're experienced with the game and know what you're doing. sprout tanks make the game unfun for others.

Combat is the same for all the jobs. If you don't like the story or traditional MMO things just move on.

Therm/Black Mage is rough until level 60 onwards.
Most classes are, but some are more enjoyable than others at lower levels, such as NIN and MNK.

Idk what to do now. Should I just start over? I'll have to do another couple hours of busy work BS like slay 8 moles or stand in front of 6 npcs and do the head shake emote? Pass. Boring fricking garbage. Waste of time.

You can play every job in the game on one character. Most are available after you hit level 15 I believe. Some are locked behind expansions and later levels though.
And shit bro I dunno, if you aren't feeling it don't force yourself. I'm pretty sure I only survived the basegame because I had a friend to play through it all with.
I've enjoyed everything from the first expansion onwards though.

    >"Did I say level 15? I meant level 30."
    >"Level 30? No, I'm pretty sure I meant level 50?"
    >"Hm, what do you mean? No, it gets good in the patch content."
    >"Oh no, ARR is awful. But it gets really good in Heavensward."
    That's your answer, ad nauseam.

      >>"Did I say level 15? I meant level 30."
      >>"Level 30? No, I'm pretty sure I meant level 50?"
Said no one ever. Everyone agrees that it gets good in HW and if you finish HW and didn't like it then you're free to quit because it's obviously not a game for you.

I didn't find ARR awful, but HW really did make me double down on liking the game.

the funniest part is the game is best from 1-10, then goes to shit for the next 100 to 200 hours, then it ""gets better""

  15. 11 months ago

It's typical MMO bullshit. If you aren't pulled in by the story right away, give it up. It doesn't get better and the MMO gameplay ruins the pacing.

You need to be brainlet who enjoys WoW-clone Themeparks to think this is good.

  16. 11 months ago

Not that much. Supposedly it gets really good in the Shadowbringers expansion, but I was like 250 hours into the game and was only half way through the Heavensward expansion and realized it had only gotten marginally better so I just dropped it.
