If you like shows about buttholes (like Always Sunny), you'll like Class of 09 and it's semi-sequel, Class of 09 - The Re-Up.
It's consumer friendly edgy, so you'll have stuff like pedo jokes, drug use, people bullying each other and that shit, but nobody is calling each other homosexuals and morons or Black folk or anything.
The voice acting adds a lot, imo.
Comparing it to always sunny is not right, always sunny has better character actions and just fun pesonalities to see fail and frick up

What kind of game are you expecting, m8? A 60 hour open world RPG where you grow with the characters on an epic adventure? Class of 09 is a 3-4 hour long VN with 9 endings in the base game, and 15 or so endings in the Re-Up. For what they charge, it's a fairly sized gameplay experience so long as you go in with the correct expectations.
And shit, with Steam's refund policy, you could absolutely play for an hour and immediately know whether the game is for you or not, and refund it if you don't like it.
Fricking Doki Doki is a VN too, a short one at that and has a lot more to offer in every regard.
Expect good content anon, dont allow shit content to get a pass where other games shined.
I've played and beaten DDLC back when it came out, then again on the rerelease. I also played through and thoroughly enjoyed Class of 09 and the Re-Up and pissed myself laughing at several parts throughout. It's by no means a better game than DDLC, but I had fun with it and felt like I got my money's worth. Simple as.

In Class of 09's case, it's totally fine to have suicide pacts, drug use, bullying, whatever, but because 'no no words' would get you deplatformed, they're not present when the game otherwise contains objectively 'worse' content.

This shit is way way better than trash loke DDLC. Its fault is that it is a 15 minute episode premise stretched out over 10 hours. The VAs put out a great performance. There's a lot to actually value and several jokes that land. There's just way too much and it gets old and predictable very quickly. What the frick positive can you say about DDLC? It does nothing well.
