it was only bad with the original inferno difficulty had you running very specific sections of the story mode and i had to use 5 defensive abilities as a monk to get sufficient enough gear to move to the next farming spot
It's been a good game for years now, especially when they rebalanced a bunch of legendaries and sets. It's fun to play it for a season, knock out the journey, and then put it down until next season.
