His only built in crits are below the HP threshold after transformation and they're still not guaranteed. Going full crit will at least mitigate the possibility that your 20+ million atk stat doesn't do that much damage because it doesn't crit and it'll help SS1 do good damage. He doesn't need the extra bit of def stacking.

Summon on what you want. Sometime it is. Typically they're old units so people here already have multiple copies, in which case summoning wouldn't do much for them.
Is that true though? They usually stop running characters in banners after they EZA. There are still a ton of older EZA characters that I don't have because they literally never appear in banners.

If your answer is no for any of these questions, I'd avoid summoning. That unit has carried me in so many events but his EZA is beyond bullshit. It's probably not that bad now if you have all the late 2022/early 2023 units but good luck.
I went half and half, 11aa and 15 crit, and with skill orbs he's 15aa and 20crit
you want him to stack def in base, but from my experience you hardly get him to transform even post-eza so you also want him to do some good damage in base with crits
he does get a 50% crit chance transformed but ONLY if you start the turn with 58% hp or below which isn't consistent
Apparently, I finished all the new Shadow Dragon missions from that run. SS3/2 Goku and Vegeta got their SB off too but it didn't crit and only hit for 17mil

Is it worth using the free link level keys on units with 4/7 level 9s or should I keep grinding for 5+? So far, I've only gotten 1 out of 6 grinded units at 5 level 9s.

The damage/utility TEQ Androids give you are a lot more valuable. Legendary Power is important to active of course but INT Cell already hits insanely hard

What Events are good to test out units? IDBH used to be my event of choice, due to the potentional length of the event, but even the most recent are so weak that I can transform Gohan or Cell. Red Zone only having 3 attempts per day also puts a damper on them to use for team testing

when they open up all the ezas during celebrations, when there's nothing to do or waiting for my stamina to refresh, I just go into a random eza stage and try to see how far I can go

Do quest to the end, but make sure to use good units to link level them as you grind, fighting as many enemies as you can. That's the only thing rank up stamina is good for and it's damn good at it.

Sure, what cards you pull in Pettan is all luck but so are regular game summons.
But at least with pettan's gameplay you see that the enemy card has a value of X and so long as your cumulative value of your other cards is greater than that, you've won. bigger number > smaller number
with chain battle you jus cross your fingers that your friends maybe have some of the relevant cards, hit Refresh 3 or 4 times, try switchin out the linking unit, finally eventually finds something that fills both the Ki meters and then you roll those dice and get whatever falls out of the number generator absolutely no control over it.
Honestly, Chain Battle would be a halfway decent mode if it had just 6 supporters to set instead of 10. Then there'd be no bullshit rng and we'd have control over everything based on box quality.

The RNG of pettan's card rewards is heavier than CB's one, just by the fact that in one you're losing valuable currency, and in the other not that much.

Well that mission requires a minimum effort if you want to complete it. Like I always said CB is a mode that requires either good friends or be a high rank player (999). Once you get that it's just copy paste the high scores comps, literally, JUST CHECK the high scores and try to find and run something similar.
It's amusing that some people complain about shitty <100M runs when they pick supports that don't make any sense or have barely any advantageous characters. They cry and don't even know how the game mode works.
I might understand that those are the best supports they can find, but the good lineups are not gonna appear magically, you HAVE to add friends to do good.
It might be unfair but every game mode has its own unfair side.

In CB the less friends you have the more luck you need. As simple as that.
For me, Pettan is the worst, no friends, no whales, no skill, just pure luck.
He carries a couple of obscure categories and also fits on top tier teams.
Then again the same is true for kid goku but I skipped him. It helped that they put a rainbow friend in youth esbr.
I'll see if I can clear the legend low class missions without him, but I don't have baseditz either so it's doubtful.

At this point it seems their best use is just as a floater on whatever team needs a slot filled, because they don't tank well enough to sit in that first slot.
Issue is they'll never morale boost, but the buff is rather insignificant compared to the work to get there.

movie heroes got a lot of stuff including WWC and the super hero units meanwhile GT heroes got Pan which doesn't work amazing with the LR monkeys
No pfb limits a lot of their team comps whereas the gods both lead the most future proof category in the game and have high link synergy with everything on that category.
He's great enough for a F2p but they really did hold back on him too much, a shame.

shenron is much easier because you can dodge and you know exactly when he is supering in the last stage. he hits hard with his super but with the right characters you can tank it

goku and gohan are not great because you need to super 3 times before transforming and then you would need to build up but maybe they could counter shenron supers, however agl gohan and future gohan eza are kind of a must on this team
birdku is probably your best bet since he tacks and revived, however you would probably need to run two of them and keep the one who doesnt revive out of harms way.

nah bro. bronze def is usually only up to +500, while bronze aa or crit only gets up to lv2. at that point, an extra 2 aa or crit won't mean that much depending on how you built your HiPo and what your silver and gold equips are.
example: the 5th anni gogeta, if you go full aa, with lv5 silver and gold aa, the highest he can go since he's str is 25 aa. so with an extra bronze lv2 aa, he goes from 50% chance to aa to a 54% chance which isn't that much better. but that extra +300 def on top of the usual +500 is going to help a lot more long term. I don't think most people understand that the extra +1800 def to your base stat from the three new equips is like an extra eza stat boost that lrs never get

That 800 difference is going to amount to 26k extra defense in Gogeta's base and about 50k transformed with his full passive and 3 supers.
I fail to see how 50k is worth giving up even that small sliver of extra add/crit chance for. He already tanks normals and such a small amount won't make him tank something he'd otherwise eat total shit from.

There's literally 1 unit in the whole game that stacks from gathering orbs and only longtime players have him, so I'm assuming you mean passive or super stacks which do require the unit to attack.

GT's best linking partner is Z whereas the SS4s had the 4th anni EZAs, and they lead one of the best categories in the game that will get updates until EoS. They're in a much better spot and have the 4 essential Saiyan LR links.

The last two stages of this new event are pretty tough. More so the 7 turn mission for the 7th stage. The ss4 gogeta path felt much stronger than the gods too. The 8th stage is hard even with items.

SV/Boo helped me with Burst Mode, the DFEs are great in all respects, Gohan has beautiful animations, half the f2p units are good, and LR SS Goku is an okay floater.
It was a fine anni in terms of units even without the 5th years.

i cleared cell max hybrid saiyan missions with a bunch of ssr lmao, if i dont have a team ready to finish a mission i just use the mod, been doing it since january last year and no ban here
I've been modding since 2020 and used three different kind of bots. The only time I got some kind of warning was when I accidentally left the bot running during a co-op campaign, just didn't get the rewards (kais and hercule statues lmao).
I'm thinking overall in terms of the celebration. I know the rates were made worse on Global, I doubt they were very generous with stones, and there was no endgame content to speak of until 2nd.
It was the first fricking year so the standard content like Dokkan events were already hard enough. Gogeta came in and made so you could steamroll pretty much everything the game had to offer so that was great for everyone that pulled him. Your account either had Gogeta or it was dogshit so most people just rerolled over and over until they got him. The amount of stones given out and the quality of the banners wasn't really a factor.
I feel like that was really bad for the game itself and the anniversary by extension. It basically necessitated rerolls and Gogeta's dominance meant the end of Dokkan events being an actual threat.
True, but they got their kits fixed somewhat by release, had really good leaders, and cool as frick actives with the first voice acting and on demand OSTs.
They also gave away fricktons of stones and had actual EZBs for f2p units instead of EZ Areas. I want to say there was a good SBR update at the time too, but I don't remember.
King Vegeta's SSR should have 2 spots since you can bring 1 awakened to UR and a second at level 80.

I'm glad they stopped doing this. It sucks that they didn't also stop making units just for them to immediately EZA and then never have the chance to be useful again but I'm glad it doesn't take up space where actual content could be. Like imagine if instead of Super Buu and Vegito EZAs, they gave Hercule and Babidi their own stages.

There are a lot of reasons but I guess if I had to put it succinctly, I'd say EZAreas are better for the longevity of the game. I really just don't think every single unit under the sun getting it's own dedicated 30 stage EZA is healthy for the game in the long run. It's a crutch that I'm glad they learned to avoid leaning on early into the game's life. People complain now but I think the complaints would be much worse if there were thousands of separate stages under the EZA tab at this point.
More specifically, I think EZAreas have more room for scalability. Every EZArea eventually gets more stages thus more content and stones added to them. That way it's not just a dead stage that sits around forever and takes up space. I'm not saying the usual EZBs for Dokkanfests and what have you all are, they get their sub-EZAs eventually as well but the difference is it doesn't scale. They just have you redo the exact same stages you already did a long time ago but in a particular tedious way so you get the right amount of medals. Plus there's no reward or incentive for doing sub-EZAs besides the character which is crap 90% of the time. The reward for doing EZAreas is being able to continue progressing through the stages added later on.

Save your stones. Ginyu team is still very good, but Saiyan Day is literally around the corner. Had this not been discounted, would have skipped Bardock. His scouter makes him pretty reliable in any team he can be used on, especially for harder events.
They've got to make him crazy like Kid Goku to account for his lack of teams and linking partners. I'm thinking 170% for androids, Power Absorption and GT Bosses, + 30% for Inhuman Deeds, Battle of fate and artificial life forms. That way he has MVP 17, who should be EZAing soon, androids 19/20, the gammas, all the Cells, Android 13, who is also coming up on an EZA soon, Baby, for future units and when the LR EZAs, Syn and Omega shenron units, and all Buu units except Kid Buu as 200% led units. I mean, they probably won't do that because they hate extreme units, but they need to provide some reason to make people buy stones after going all in on the anni.

The linked stages from the awakening menu aren't the ones you should be doing. You have to do specific stages that mark the current medal you're farming with a star on the wikia. Only the GF medals should be a pain to drop.

Blue ones - 29-8. It has only one fight that guarantees either 5 or 10 gems. Also 2 treasure spaces, but can be hard to hit them.
Green ones - wait unto Global gets 30-8. It gives 30-100 gems. Which is just so much more than what we can get in Area 29, that it's really not worth it to farm them right now

I thought it was a carbon copy of 29-3, which I know for sure is 5-20. Same thing for the 77 drops. I've seen it all the time on 29-3 and 29-4 while link leveling. You have to be doing clears religiously, but it comes around fairly often.

Their stats seem really low before fusing, 310k after 1 super with just GT active and 384k with 2.
Super 17 is undoubtedly great, but 70% on turn 5 is an annoying condition, especially when you have to deal with how mediocre he is up until that point.
Gero and Myu are good for what they are at 375k with 1 super and 500k with 2 without factoring in the 150% from fighting a Goku.
In the animation department, only Super 17 looks any good and even that's just kind of eh. 5/10 overall, will not summon unless Kid Goku is there.
Kid Goku will be there you moron (at least on global), he fits the banner theme because of the GT Gi, Pan has a pretty high chance of being in this banner too so it has potential to be a good banner value-wise with the GFSSR on Global.

If Tora and Fasha just used Storied Figures for all of their buffs the team would be like the Ginyu Force but better and you could even get Gokus in to get Bardock his extra buff but no. I did and know that no one actually fought Super 17 except Goku. Vegeta and the Golden Jobber Squad got their asses kicked by him and that's it. It didn't even slow him down or distract him like when they fought Omega, they just jobbed. Pan on the other hand was the MVP, her actions directly lead to both Gero and Myuu dying. Without them to reel him in, 17 became even more unstable which eventually lead to his defeat.

I don't really think I give a shit on spending money on this game anymore. They've made it abundantly clear they don't view extreme as equal to super class units. They're well aware you need defensively strong units in slot 1 against current content, and they've released maybe 1 in the past 13 months that can fill that role on ONE TEAM. Meanwhile, every super character and their mother are given guard, DR, and high SoT defense. If that's how they plan on building the game going forwards, that's fine. I just spend when I see soul and there's good discounts. That's the only thing Dokkan does well enough to deserve money for.

Never use Shugesh, Borgos, or Guldo unless you have nothing better. The rest can go either way based on personal preference, but Bardock, Ginyu, and Burter will be doing the most damage.

Eh, he's still top 5 of extremes. I was reading the review and a good point about the pre-fusion evasion was brought up. If they add more endgame super bosses like the Anniversary battles, they'll have 51% evasion more often than not, which is pretty good.

This anniversary could have been the anniversary for them to push the envelope for a better equipe system similar to legends. Imagine using str gogeta and int Janemba without feeling like they're just free kills for the bosses of these events?
What can they even do to STR Gogeta to make him good without changing his passive or SA effect? Give him a def +10000 orb or something? Even then he would still be bad.
The amount of buffs they'd need to be good again would essentially be a second EZA, which they don't want to do unless it makes them last forever.
Ultimately, the only ways around uselessness that don't involve having a broken mechanic like DR are the EZ-Area method of limiting who you can use and gimmicks modes like Burst and CB where literally any unit can potentially be good.
I actually think Burst mode accomplishes this very well. It's might just be the most fun mode they've done ever.

Honestly watching this showcase really puts into perspective the favoritism the dev team has. New Goku card? You can use every brand new, relevant card on the team. They all have guard, stack defense, and amazing links. Villains? Shit SoT defense, bad conditional effects, and you need to fill your team with general pool SSRs and a multi year old EZA that still gets killed.
No matter how much you want to repeat "goku is the main character" can you excuse what they're doing with Dokkan at this point. At one point in time you could at LEAST throw the majority of villains on 1-2 category teams and get by with BBB as your main link, and now you have to fricking pray you can clear content if you're not named Cooler.

People love sucking off Gamma 1 as a slot 1 unit yet he tanks only slightly better than agl super 17 in most situations
2 mil damage - 50% - 500k sot defense = 500k damage taken
2 mil damage - 70% - 130k sot defense = 470k damage taken
difference is that Gamma 1 won't take 200k per normal while building up his stats like Super 17 and get won't take 100k per normals once fully built up like Super 17.

The thing is those anniversary battles have uncommonly high stats in the first phase, so he's difficult to build up there. Toward the end against Red Zone Broly, he does a lot better.
The average is still pretty low, like 250k by my estimate. With good links and post super, he's taking 50k from that first attack and then way less after.
What Events does global soon get that warrant any of the new units we got recently? I haven't had the chance to test LR 5Guysku, EZA LR Cell and Gohan and some others

Keys will eventually become useless, story events are slowly migrating to the Dragon Ball Story section, and are up 24/7 in there.
Dokkan events being available for certain days is stupid, don't be surprised if out of nowhere JP makes all Dokkan events permanently available. Same case with EZBs.
Personally I'm using all my Dokkan event Keys to farm new PB LRs, medals and SAs, I had over 1k anyway.
I think if they did that they would let you use stamina or keys on events, since everyone would still have a bunch of keys lying around including ones they bought.
They've made more story events of the same arcs/movies already. Keys will never be totally useless.

why would dokkan news be announced now when JP is about to receive the super 17 DFE and theres still 2 weeks left of the bardock celebration on global.
He's not losing any defense, just the scouter and orb changing. The former should only last a turn or 2 with the current length of content and the latter can be side-stepped entirely by teq Godku and/or phy Kid Goku.
I've had the opposite problem, too many rainbow orbs between both Bardocks doing their jobs and Godku helping out and not having enough type orbs for LRs and orb healing. It gets a little dry later on, but I pace myself at that point and it works out.
celebrations have been shit since 7th anni because the teams are not on par with the hardest content in the game. They are all very frustrating to beat and i feel nothing after beating them. sbr is the only "hard" event i get any satisfaction nowadays and these gays decided to drip fed it instead of releasing it all at once lisraelite the used to
Kai Goku wants to get hit to for the 59% defense buff. It's statistically more likely that Goku will dodge too many normal attacks to receive the defense buff and then get hit by a super.
I think it's fine to summon during the anni, but if you're going deep into the banners on global, you're an idiot.
WWC units and banners have been better than the anni's for the past 3 years and this year will be no different.
This is a repeat 6th anni for me. They're not "must have" units and will still be relevant when they come back at the end of the year. GT Duo is great but realistically I don't need them.

What should I bring up? EZA 2? EZAs changing Active Skills?
Active skills are good to mention and I also added the need for weekly endgame content, balance for (E)SBR, new modes that are actually good, more DB units, and direct communication like JP's fan meeting.
Bardock is very worth it too and LR Piccolo obviously, not so much the others.
Some people think Nameku may be come relevant as a Legendary Existence support if nothing else, but I still don't think he'd be worth running ever.

His only built in crits are below the HP threshold after transformation and they're still not guaranteed. Going full crit will at least mitigate the possibility that your 20+ million atk stat doesn't do that much damage because it doesn't crit and it'll help SS1 do good damage. I don't have any of these old super Saiyan units. The previous chain battle felt easier by comparison and that's saying something.

you want him to stack def in base, but from my experience you hardly get him to transform even post-eza so you also want him to do some good damage in base with crits
he does get a 50% crit chance transformed but ONLY if you start the turn with 58% hp or below which isn't consistent

The damage/utility TEQ Androids give you are a lot more valuable. Legendary Power is important to active of course but INT Cell already hits insanely hard

What Events are good to test out units? IDBH used to be my event of choice, due to the potentional length of the event, but even the most recent are so weak that I can transform Gohan or Cell. Red Zone only having 3 attempts per day also puts a damper on them to use for team testing

Do quest to the end, but make sure to use good units to link level them as you grind, fighting as many enemies as you can. That's the only thing rank up stamina is good for and it's damn good at it.
Grinding quest mode is really the only way to actively link up and get your level super high.
Don't rank up quickly imo. Wait for 4x quest exp, then leverage that into stamina refills and link levels.

with chain battle you jus cross your fingers that your friends maybe have some of the relevant cards, hit Refresh 3 or 4 times, try switchin out the linking unit, finally eventually finds something that fills both the Ki meters and then you roll those dice and get whatever falls out of the number generator absolutely no control over it.
Honestly, Chain Battle would be a halfway decent mode if it had just 6 supporters to set instead of 10. Then there'd be no bullshit rng and we'd have control over everything based on box quality.

Well that mission requires a minimum effort if you want to complete it. Like I always said CB is a mode that requires either good friends or be a high rank player (999). Once you get that it's just copy paste the high scores comps, literally, JUST CHECK the high scores and try to find and run something similar.
It's amusing that some people complain about shitty <100M runs when they pick supports that don't make any sense or have barely any advantageous characters. They cry and don't even know how the game mode works.
I might understand that those are the best supports they can find, but the good lineups are not gonna appear magically, you HAVE to add friends to do good.

goku and gohan are not great because you need to super 3 times before transforming and then you would need to build up but maybe they could counter shenron supers, however agl gohan and future gohan eza are kind of a must on this team
birdku is probably your best bet since he tacks and revived, however you would probably need to run two of them and keep the one who doesnt revive out of harms way.

nah bro. bronze def is usually only up to +500, while bronze aa or crit only gets up to lv2. at that point, an extra 2 aa or crit won't mean that much depending on how you built your HiPo and what your silver and gold equips are.
example: the 5th anni gogeta, if you go full aa, with lv5 silver and gold aa, the highest he can go since he's str is 25 aa. so with an extra bronze lv2 aa, he goes from 50% chance to aa to a 54% chance which isn't that much better. but that extra +300 def on top of the usual +500 is going to help a lot more long term. I don't think most people understand that the extra +1800 def to your base stat from the three new equips is like an extra eza stat boost that lrs never get

There's literally 1 unit in the whole game that stacks from gathering orbs and only longtime players have him, so I'm assuming you mean passive or super stacks which do require the unit to attack.

I'm thinking overall in terms of the celebration. I know the rates were made worse on Global, I doubt they were very generous with stones, and there was no endgame content to speak of until 2nd.
It was the first fricking year so the standard content like Dokkan events were already hard enough. Gogeta came in and made so you could steamroll pretty much everything the game had to offer so that was great for everyone that pulled him. Your account either had Gogeta or it was dogshit so most people just rerolled over and over until they got him. The amount of stones given out and the quality of the banners wasn't really a factor.
I feel like that was really bad for the game itself and the anniversary by extension. It basically necessitated rerolls and Gogeta's dominance meant the end of Dokkan events being an actual threat.
4th anni is easily the worst, the headlining units were so fricking shit when they were announced and their animations were ass even back then.
True, but they got their kits fixed somewhat by release, had really good leaders, and cool as frick actives with the first voice acting and on demand OSTs.
They also gave away fricktons of stones and had actual EZBs for f2p units instead of EZ Areas. I want to say there was a good SBR update at the time too, but I don't remember.
King Vegeta's SSR should have 2 spots since you can bring 1 awakened to UR and a second at level 80.

I'm glad they stopped doing this. It sucks that they didn't also stop making units just for them to immediately EZA and then never have the chance to be useful again but I'm glad it doesn't take up space where actual content could be. Like imagine if instead of Super Buu and Vegito EZAs, they gave Hercule and Babidi their own stages.
The problem is we could have had both. Having EZBs during anni was a step up from 3rd year and then they took it away with 5th.

Why would you prefer ez areas over battles? They cost stamina, are annoying, and give less stones.
There are a lot of reasons but I guess if I had to put it succinctly, I'd say EZAreas are better for the longevity of the game. I really just don't think every single unit under the sun getting it's own dedicated 30 stage EZA is healthy for the game in the long run. It's a crutch that I'm glad they learned to avoid leaning on early into the game's life. People complain now but I think the complaints would be much worse if there were thousands of separate stages under the EZA tab at this point.
More specifically, I think EZAreas have more room for scalability. Every EZArea eventually gets more stages thus more content and stones added to them. That way it's not just a dead stage that sits around forever and takes up space. I'm not saying the usual EZBs for Dokkanfests and what have you all are, they get their sub-EZAs eventually as well but the difference is it doesn't scale. They just have you redo the exact same stages you already did a long time ago but in a particular tedious way so you get the right amount of medals. Plus there's no reward or incentive for doing sub-EZAs besides the character which is crap 90% of the time. The reward for doing EZAreas is being able to continue progressing through the stages added later on.
What would people complain about? Navigation would not get any worse than it already is and linking the awakening menu to whatever stage the medals are from circumvents the issue entirely.

Save your stones. Ginyu team is still very good, but Saiyan Day is literally around the corner. Had this not been discounted, would have skipped Bardock. His scouter makes him pretty reliable in any team he can be used on, especially for harder events.

That way he has MVP 17, who should be EZAing soon, androids 19/20, the gammas, all the Cells, Android 13, who is also coming up on an EZA soon, Baby, for future units and when the LR EZAs, Syn and Omega shenron units, and all Buu units except Kid Buu as 200% led units. I mean, they probably won't do that because they hate extreme units, but they need to provide some reason to make people buy stones after going all in on the anni.

One one hand, this would be a great time to finally make the "Super 17" event into a permanent "DB Story" event.
But on the other one, it would be dumb, because they still haven't converted the Baby Saga events, so that would be going out of order.
Then again, there doesn't seem to be an order to DB Story conversions. So I guess, as long as they're all ordered chronologically in the end, it'll be fine.

You can actually do that event with keys, but it's still a pain. No category bonus, no double boost. Shit sucks.
I know. I've tried numerous times to farm these shits by hand but they literally don't drop from any of the stages. I've put hundreds of keys into it and have never gotten a single medal from this event. I have only ever been able to get them from the Baba shop and then they took that option away. At this point the stage just needs to be revamped and all those Friezas need the Metal Cooler squad treatment. However, I'm doubt they'll even bother with that because there's too many of them and they're not all farmable.

Sometimes I do and that works fine, but I have a couple slight nitpicking issues with it. There's some sound mixing frickups when I try to run yt in the background and it feels less monotonous having the song stop in between fights.
The linked stages from the awakening menu aren't the ones you should be doing. You have to do specific stages that mark the current medal you're farming with a star on the wikia. Only the GF medals should be a pain to drop.

Blue ones - 29-8. It has only one fight that guarantees either 5 or 10 gems. Also 2 treasure spaces, but can be hard to hit them.
Green ones - wait unto Global gets 30-8. It gives 30-100 gems. Which is just so much more than what we can get in Area 29, that it's really not worth it to farm them right now
29-6 is way better than 29-8. You have the boss fight which gives 5-20 and the 3 normal fights have a chance of dropping 77.

I thought it was a carbon copy of 29-3, which I know for sure is 5-20. Same thing for the 77 drops. I've seen it all the time on 29-3 and 29-4 while link leveling. You have to be doing clears religiously, but it comes around fairly often.

Their stats seem really low before fusing, 310k after 1 super with just GT active and 384k with 2.
Super 17 is undoubtedly great, but 70% on turn 5 is an annoying condition, especially when you have to deal with how mediocre he is up until that point.
Gero and Myu are good for what they are at 375k with 1 super and 500k with 2 without factoring in the 150% from fighting a Goku.
In the animation department, only Super 17 looks any good and even that's just kind of eh. 5/10 overall, will not summon unless Kid Goku is there.
Kid Goku will be there you moron (at least on global), he fits the banner theme because of the GT Gi, Pan has a pretty high chance of being in this banner too so it has potential to be a good banner value-wise with the GFSSR on Global.

I did and know that no one actually fought Super 17 except Goku. Vegeta and the Golden Jobber Squad got their asses kicked by him and that's it. It didn't even slow him down or distract him like when they fought Omega, they just jobbed. Pan on the other hand was the MVP, her actions directly lead to both Gero and Myuu dying. Without them to reel him in, 17 became even more unstable which eventually lead to his defeat.

I don't really think I give a shit on spending money on this game anymore. They've made it abundantly clear they don't view extreme as equal to super class units. They're well aware you need defensively strong units in slot 1 against current content, and they've released maybe 1 in the past 13 months that can fill that role on ONE TEAM. Meanwhile, every super character and their mother are given guard, DR, and high SoT defense. If that's how they plan on building the game going forwards, that's fine. I'll just use whatever FOTM goku team and close the game.

What can they even do to STR Gogeta to make him good without changing his passive or SA effect? Give him a def +10000 orb or something? Even then he would still be bad.

The amount of buffs they'd need to be good again would essentially be a second EZA, which they don't want to do unless it makes them last forever.
Ultimately, the only ways around uselessness that don't involve having a broken mechanic like DR are the EZ-Area method of limiting who you can use and gimmicks modes like Burst and CB where literally any unit can potentially be good.
I actually think Burst mode accomplishes this very well. It's might just be the most fun mode they've done ever.

Honestly watching this showcase really puts into perspective the favoritism the dev team has. New Goku card? You can use every brand new, relevant card on the team. They all have guard, stack defense, and amazing links. Villains? Shit SoT defense, bad conditional effects, and you need to fill your team with general pool SSRs and a multi year old EZA that still gets killed.
No matter how much you want to repeat "goku is the main character" can you excuse what they're doing with Dokkan at this point. At one point in time you could at LEAST throw the majority of villains on 1-2 category teams and get by with BBB as your main link, and now you have to fricking pray you can clear content if you're not named Cooler.

People love sucking off Gamma 1 as a slot 1 unit yet he tanks only slightly better than agl super 17 in most situations
2 mil damage - 50% - 500k sot defense = 500k damage taken
2 mil damage - 70% - 130k sot defense = 470k damage taken
difference is that Gamma 1 won't take 200k per normal while building up his stats like Super 17 and get won't take 100k per normals once fully built up like Super 17.

The thing is those anniversary battles have uncommonly high stats in the first phase, so he's difficult to build up there. Toward the end against Red Zone Broly, he does a lot better.
yeah but that is because brolly starts as str so you can build him up relatively safe durgin the first phase.
The average is still pretty low, like 250k by my estimate. With good links and post super, he's taking 50k from that first attack and then way less after.

Keys will eventually become useless, story events are slowly migrating to the Dragon Ball Story section, and are up 24/7 in there.
Dokkan events being available for certain days is stupid, don't be surprised if out of nowhere JP makes all Dokkan events permanently available. Same case with EZBs.
Personally I'm using all my Dokkan event Keys to farm new PB LRs, medals and SAs, I had over 1k anyway.
I think if they did that they would let you use stamina or keys on events, since everyone would still have a bunch of keys lying around including ones they bought.
They're going to take the Recycle Center idea from Legends and just let you convert the old defunct currencies for the new hotness.
If anything they will give you meat based on how many keys you have, or a shop exchange, buying meat with keys.
They've made more story events of the same arcs/movies already. Keys will never be totally useless.

I've been using him on rotation with Fasha(Goku's original mommy) <3
He's not losing any defense, just the scouter and orb changing. The former should only last a turn or 2 with the current length of content and the latter can be side-stepped entirely by teq Godku and/or phy Kid Goku.
I find tossing int fasha on the team along with kid goku makes things a lot smoother. 1 orb changer doesn't feel like enough for both bardocks.
I've had the opposite problem, too many rainbow orbs between both Bardocks doing their jobs and Godku helping out and not having enough type orbs for LRs and orb healing. It gets a little dry later on, but I pace myself at that point and it works out.

Kai Goku wants to get hit to for the 59% defense buff. It's statistically more likely that Goku will dodge too many normal attacks to receive the defense buff and then get hit by a super.
