Base goku really is a hit or miss unit in dokkan. str kaioken goku was good for his time but didn't age well, agl kaiku is really good, int lr baseku is TRASH
Cooler units are indeed consistently top tier when they drop. Phy cooler could be argued as the best 120% lead when he came out, and his eza was regarded as the best 120% lead eza, agl metal cooler was one of, if not the first unit with good super animations, str cooler revived wicked bloodlines and extreme units in general, and str lr cooler has aged fantastically (much better than teq carnival goku)
Trunks is def quantity over quality. Almost all the trunks units are trash, age poorly, and have little to no mark on the meta. Agl dfe trunks is better pre transformation than post, teq super trunks requires 2 fodder units so he can become good on turn 5 (fodder pre transformation). It sucks because trunks is my fav char

Black star arc is comfy, baby is a cool villain, super 17 is a cool villain, and its great they brought 17 back, and the shadow dragons being formed from the negative energy of the dragon balls is a great idea, and the last two episodes of GT are just awesome, almost made me shed a tear seeing them replay the moments of dragon ball while the credits played. Before Super, GT was the true ending of dragon ball.
GT is just something Toei made after Z ended, it's a cool little spin-off that gave us SSJ4 and some new villains. People hate on it just to look cool and get internet brownie points.

I have zero expectations for this wwdc. They made a massive deal out of Cooler last year and they're terrified to reveal information this go around. Something is up.
There was only a single unit from last WWC that stood the test of time and that's birdku. PHY Metal Cooler and the SS Diaper Duo were outdated from the day they released. STR Cooler is not top tier anymore and can barely hang around in the new Red Zone fight against Cell, and that's only stage 2. Now I can excuse Metal Cooler the diaper duo being shit because they were probably meant to be Gold coin part 2 LRs, before the carnival banner was a thing, and were designed to be underwhelming. Hopefully this year they design both carnival LR units with the same level of power and the best unit of the celebration is an extreme unit.

I've had birdku at 55% all year and honestly really dislike him. I think people just see guard and revive and think good unit but his guard is useless since he has no defence, his stacking is slow as frick, his revive doesn't exist since GT duo came out and he hits like a wet noodle.
If honestly say Metal Cooler has aged better than him purely because he's a revive unit and has BBB

Nah birdku has aged second worst. shit defence until he gets hit once and even then his defence is average by current standards. he also hits like a sissy.
lr cooler aged the best. he's only now reaching the limits of his abilities where birdku aged out within two months and cooler can still do insane damage when he goes off which is more than what birdku can do.
Black person Birdku came in clutch so often for me with his piss easy to achieve revive and by the last few turns of most events he can tank well. He can also be put on many team with little thought. Meanwhile JOBler get's hit hard by most difficult content and that is in team specifically designed around him where he get's constant buffs from support units.

We already got the Broly Redzone and that just made him go "dodge is so good they needed to disable it for difficulty", he genuinely can't shut the frick up about it, giving LR AGL UIku full dodge completely broke his mind.
He's now at the point where his giga whale team is doing less damage than a 1 dupe team. It's not impressive that you dodged that attack when the enemy should already be dead.
I think the celebration is going to be Goku black saga all around.

Like there is a possibility to do interesting things in dokkan but it just seems to have devolved into guard, damage reduction, attack canceling, revive to make a unit good
I've always liked the idea of a "taunt" mechanic. Another thing I think should've been implemented was characters with atk debuffs in an attack should go through the no atk down effect, that might've added a bit to characters like INT SS4 Gogeta
We got Fusion Zamasu a year ago, it's not going to be another standalone. It's either going to be Goku Black, an updated Black&Zamasu, or B&V that fuses. It's most likely going to be Black&Zamasu part 1 and some combination of 17&18 (possibly Cell) for part 2. They may pull a TEQ Hit and do an early EZA for AGL Gohan&Trunks.
I imagine they're scraping together future blues kit right now and dialing it back to current power creep instead of when they were planning to release it
It know this post is ironic, but they won't make a celebration without Goku and Vegeta, and since is the Goku Black Arc, we all know what's going to happen.
I find it unoriginal as well, but at the end of the day, it's a gatcha game, and they want their shekels, Vegito will bring them shekels.

Also it's kinda the first time we get a G&V duo LR that starts at SSBlue. The others were either a transformation, or an exchange or only were in Blue in the TUR.

Like, support units only increase the Atk&Def of other units if they share a turn, right? The Field mechanic will allow them to always provide that buff without needing to keep them on rotation!
I think Fields might also deal damage, like the Zamasu Ceiling might just deal a damage to the enemy every turn regardless of what you do.

If it's an exchange unit it wouldn't.

Future Saga names are all so fricked up. Look at the second row here with all the TEQ ones.
The one on the left is from Super and even gets his art reused on the DFE on on the right's transformation.
He is called "Super Saiyan Trunks (Future)", meanwhile the DFE one is "Trunks (Teen) (Future)" and transforms into "Super Saiyan Trunks (Future)".
Meaning this 30 year old Trunks is only considered a teen in base form.
At the same time, the other Trunks from Z that's after the Gohan is again "Super Saiyan Trunks (Future)" despite being like 16 years old or so

We then get to the INT DFE one and we can see that clearly his hair is diferent from the first one indicating that he is SS2. However, for whatever reason, they just decided that every Future Saga Trunks should be SS1 anyways.

Vegito is probably the DF, since he has to lead Trunks, but their shared categories would make a dumb 200%. Meanwhile Zamasu can be 200% Worldwide Chaos, leading all future and cell saga villains, LR and eza super buus, and majunior.
I'm betting on Vegetto carnival simply because you could put the LR Zamasu next to him, while putting TEQ VB next to Zamasu. One Vegetto and Zamasu on each banner.

Please correct the names of all the Trunks and Zamasu characters that are on Future Saga category.
Many of the Trunks lose the (Teen) name while transforming, along with other inconsistencies that interfere in diferentiating between Z and Super versions of Trunks.
Another issue is that all Trunks are classified as "Super Saiyan Trunks" despite the form they are often using in fact being "Super Saiyan 2" or necessitating a "(Rage)" tag.
I also find it very unjust all "Fusion Zamasus" being called the same regardless of being in their corrupted state.
Please add the appropriate "Corrupted" nomenclature to the proper Zamasu units so they read "Fusion Zamasu (Corrupted)" and are able to be linked with other Fusion Zamasus.
These name descrepencies are frustratingly innacurate and limit team building.
You may look at Dragon Ball Legends as a reference for proper names for these Future Saga characters.
I will not summon for the new Zamasu in the upcoming WWC if this issue is not corrected since, due to having the same name despite having diferent forms, he will no be able to be linked with the LR Fusion Zamasu that is not in his Corrupted form.
Also I would like a stand alone Beast Gohan, thank you.

But I have to push back on the idea that carnival banners are bad in general. As a non-whale, I enjoy being able to skip LR banners and summoning on a Carnival banner and pulling LRs I missed like LR Bulma during the 8th.
But they should definitely not have made a new coin for them, a new type of "LR" that has almost no difference between a yellow coin LR, the banners should have been an upgraded yellow coin banner and there should be only one of them for part 2

The Metal Cooler part of worldwide was hype UNTIL we saw the details of the new units and how they were the OBVIOUS weaker half and for those who saved for the ssj goku and vegeta and metal cooler felt robbed since the 3+1 ended for part 1 before part 2 dropped. It was like summoning on the yellow coin banners again but disguised as a Dokkanfest and Carnival.

Okay so assuming we're not getting SoT 2 gorillion defense on the WWC units I'm thinking we're heading into the "gimmick" meta more firmly. Nullifications, Enemy turn skips, Powerful standbys, Orange piccolo style giant modes, etc. Since they can't allow stuns, seals, or atk and def lowering it seems like their intention is to make us essentially just clear content by strategically using characters gimmick abilities that bosses don't resist. I've been confused why we haven't gotten a fear immune boss and seeing goku blacks stats is making me think that they saw people using pikkon to clear cell max they were like "this is what the people want" and just went fully into that. Items will probably be necessary too moving forward since we're still getting another stage and watch it negate dodge

It's like they see what works and make it not work as a response. Just how they fricked over stacking units by making enemies shit out 1.5M attack Supers from turn 1 and make it almost mandatory now to have guard, damage reduction and/or insane amounts of SoT defense. It's so tiring since if a units passive doesn't have guard or DR now, people automatically assume the unit is borderline unrunnable in todays meta
Stun and Seal are objectively too strong and if you ever did battlefield broly with peppy gals you know what dick flattening can do with constant atk lowering. It's either a random proc that if it doesn't go off you reset or you just keep the boss in a continuous chain of being unable to do anything. A gauge would not work and probably can't be implemented. Giving characters passive/active/standby skills that you pop for the intended effect instead which adds "strategy" that you can't chain together to cheese literally everything. The fact that orange piccolo could kill everything in his giant form time limit, or that we could clear the bosses by cheesing with the turn skip can be considered a fluke or growing pains of the bosses just needing higher stats to actually work in the intended way. These skills for skipping an entire turn seem strong until you realize they're basically just "stun for 1 turn" but you can't use it again and again.

You get 50% damage reduction for 5 turns, thing is 2 million reduced to 50% is still a million, and this guy barely gets to 350k when maxed out.

I use the bonus drops one mostly, though I usually dip into the permanent 10% buffs for red zones and such.
Right now the "Call me kakarot" one is getting mileage because 5/7 units on my best team are movie heroes.
i mostly use the oolong bonus memory, but i use the bulma flirt on some events, i'd rather use memories than support items to heal up since the recent revival/healing skills the new characters have makes you near invincible unless you actively try to frick up
Stacking is dead and gone bro it's time to accept that it's not actually a plus for a unit to have anymore unless they're starting out with a metric frickton of defense to begin with
They don't need to be the immediate answer to that fight, remember that when the original red zones came, they slowly start releasing units that could handle them.
I'm sure Vegito and Zamasu will be good there, but they'll probably wont make it that much easier.

Base goku really is a hit or miss unit in dokkan. str kaioken goku was good for his time but didn't age well, agl kaiku is really good, int lr baseku is TRASH
Cooler units are indeed consistently top tier when they drop. Phy cooler could be argued as the best 120% lead when he came out, and his eza was regarded as the best 120% lead eza, agl metal cooler was one of, if not the first unit with good super animations, str cooler revived wicked bloodlines and extreme units in general, and str lr cooler has aged fantastically (much better than teq carnival goku)
Trunks is def quantity over quality. Almost all the trunks units are trash, age poorly, and have little to no mark on the meta. Agl dfe trunks is better pre transformation than post, teq super trunks requires 2 fodder units so he can become good on turn 5 (fodder pre transformation). It sucks because trunks is my fav char

Black star arc is comfy, baby is a cool villain, super 17 is a cool villain, and its great they brought 17 back, and the shadow dragons being formed from the negative energy of the dragon balls is a great idea, and the last two episodes of GT are just awesome, almost made me shed a tear seeing them replay the moments of dragon ball while the credits played. Before Super, GT was the true ending of dragon ball.
GT is just something Toei made after Z ended, it's a cool little spin-off that gave us SSJ4 and some new villains. People hate on it just to look cool and get internet brownie points.

There was only a single unit from last WWC that stood the test of time and that's birdku. PHY Metal Cooler and the SS Diaper Duo were outdated from the day they released. STR Cooler is not top tier anymore and can barely hang around in the new Red Zone fight against Cell, and that's only stage 2. Now I can excuse Metal Cooler the diaper duo being shit because they were probably meant to be Gold coin part 2 LRs, before the carnival banner was a thing, and were designed to be underwhelming. Hopefully this year they design both carnival LR units with the same level of power and the best unit of the celebration is an extreme unit.

I've had birdku at 55% all year and honestly really dislike him. I think people just see guard and revive and think good unit but his guard is useless since he has no defence, his stacking is slow as frick, his revive doesn't exist since GT duo came out and he hits like a wet noodle.

Nah birdku has aged second worst. shit defence until he gets hit once and even then his defence is average by current standards. he also hits like a sissy.
lr cooler aged the best. he's only now reaching the limits of his abilities where birdku aged out within two months and cooler can still do insane damage when he goes off which is more than what birdku can do.
Black person Birdku came in clutch so often for me with his piss easy to achieve revive and by the last few turns of most events he can tank well. He can also be put on many team with little thought. Meanwhile JOBler get's hit hard by most difficult content and that is in team specifically designed around him where he get's constant buffs from support units.

Like there is a possibility to do interesting things in dokkan but it just seems to have devolved into guard, damage reduction, attack canceling, revive to make a unit good
"active skill, all the attacks in that turn are aimed at this character" and he gains a massive defensive buff.
I've always liked the idea of a "taunt" mechanic. Another thing I think should've been implemented was characters with atk debuffs in an attack should go through the no atk down effect, that might've added a bit to characters like INT SS4 Gogeta

We got Fusion Zamasu a year ago, it's not going to be another standalone. It's either going to be Goku Black, an updated Black&Zamasu, or B&V that fuses. It's most likely going to be Black&Zamasu part 1 and some combination of 17&18 (possibly Cell) for part 2. They may pull a TEQ Hit and do an early EZA for AGL Gohan&Trunks.
I don't really care about this form since it got last year's Lr, only thing I'm hoping for is a CMZ unit, be it a standalone or fusing unit.
It would have to be fusing, they consider Corrupted the same as regular Fusion Zamasu.

You have to understand the majority of the playerbase still use items
they kind of tried to make the 8th years viable in slot 1 with the 100% def in slot 1 but with the way its calculated (just getting added to the start of turn def) its just not enough
Think the base unit has no hope of being slot 1, they'll most likely have built in additionals like all god duo units. Vegito will nsot likely be a build up via attacks unit too but it could be like PHY VB where he has dmg reduction and counters (maybe he builds up dmg reduction)

Future Saga names are all so fricked up. Look at the second row here with all the TEQ ones.
The one on the left is from Super and even gets his art reused on the DFE on on the right's transformation.
He is called "Super Saiyan Trunks (Future)", meanwhile the DFE one is "Trunks (Teen) (Future)" and transforms into "Super Saiyan Trunks (Future)".
Meaning this 30 year old Trunks is only considered a teen in base form.
At the same time, the other Trunks from Z that's after the Gohan is again "Super Saiyan Trunks (Future)" despite being like 16 years old or so

We then get to the INT DFE one and we can see that clearly his hair is diferent from the first one indicating that he is SS2. However, for whatever reason, they just decided that every Future Saga Trunks should be SS1 anyways.
And this is just 1 row! You can keep going and notice there is never any consistency between when he's a teen or not to diferentiate the Z one, nor are SS2 or Rage Form ever acknowledged
I've complained about Trunks not being SS2 in alot of his card recently. Pic related is actually one of the worst cases, like why the frick isn't Trunks SS2 here? Like he clearly knows SS2 since he showed it earlier in the arc

Please correct the names of all the Trunks and Zamasu characters that are on Future Saga category.
Many of the Trunks lose the (Teen) name while transforming, along with other inconsistencies that interfere in diferentiating between Z and Super versions of Trunks.
Another issue is that all Trunks are classified as "Super Saiyan Trunks" despite the form they are often using in fact being "Super Saiyan 2" or necessitating a "(Rage)" tag.
I also find it very unjust all "Fusion Zamasus" being called the same regardless of being in their corrupted state.
Please add the appropriate "Corrupted" nomenclature to the proper Zamasu units so they read "Fusion Zamasu (Corrupted)" and are able to be linked with other Fusion Zamasus.
These name descrepencies are frustratingly innacurate and limit team building.
You may look at Dragon Ball Legends as a reference for proper names for these Future Saga characters.
I will not summon for the new Zamasu in the upcoming WWC if this issue is not corrected since, due to having the same name despite having diferent forms, he will no be able to be linked with the LR Fusion Zamasu that is not in his Corrupted form.

I, like the vast majority of people, agree that part 1 being Dual Dokkanfests and Part 2 being Carnivals is much better than the dogshit splitting of those banners they attempted during the 2022 WWC, so much so that they reverted back to it for the 8th anni and now seemingly for 2023 WWC
But I have to push back on the idea that carnival banners are bad in general. As a non-whale, I enjoy being able to skip LR banners and summoning on a Carnival banner and pulling LRs I missed like LR Bulma during the 8th.
But they should definitely not have made a new coin for them, a new type of "LR" that has almost no difference between a yellow coin LR, the banners should have been an upgraded yellow coin banner and there should be only one of them for part 2
the only reason carnival lrs are a thing is because of their 200% leader skill, else no one would even bother with them.
Singular leader skills are trash. People roll for the kit, same as yellow coin LRs.

The Dokkanfest/Carnival format only works if the units from BOTH parts carry around the same level of strength. The Metal Cooler part of worldwide was hype UNTIL we saw the details of the new units and how they were the OBVIOUS weaker half and for those who saved for the ssj goku and vegeta and metal cooler felt robbed since the 3+1 ended for part 1 before part 2 dropped. It was like summoning on the yellow coin banners again but disguised as a Dokkanfest and Carnival.

Okay so assuming we're not getting SoT 2 gorillion defense on the WWC units I'm thinking we're heading into the "gimmick" meta more firmly. Nullifications, Enemy turn skips, Powerful standbys, Orange piccolo style giant modes, etc. Since they can't allow stuns, seals, or atk and def lowering it seems like their intention is to make us essentially just clear content by strategically using characters gimmick abilities that bosses don't resist. I've been confused why we haven't gotten a fear immune boss and seeing goku blacks stats is making me think that they saw people using pikkon to clear cell max they were like "this is what the people want" and just went fully into that. Items will probably be necessary too moving forward since we're still getting another stage and watch it negate dodge
Why don't they just let debuffs work? What's the point of characters having these if you're just going to say no to all of them? Just put up some gauge you have to drain before you can inflict seal or stun or something.
We at least should have gotten SOME stages that let you debuff enemies.
It's like they see what works and make it not work as a response. Just how they fricked over stacking units by making enemies shit out 1.5M attack Supers from turn 1 and make it almost mandatory now to have guard, damage reduction and/or insane amounts of SoT defense. It's so tiring since if a units passive doesn't have guard or DR now, people automatically assume the unit is borderline unrunnable in todays meta
Stun and Seal are objectively too strong and if you ever did battlefield broly with peppy gals you know what dick flattening can do with constant atk lowering. It's either a random proc that if it doesn't go off you reset or you just keep the boss in a continuous chain of being unable to do anything. A gauge would not work and probably can't be implemented. Giving characters passive/active/standby skills that you pop for the intended effect instead which adds "strategy" that you can't chain together to cheese literally everything. The fact that orange piccolo could kill everything in his giant form time limit, or that we could clear the bosses by cheesing with the turn skip can be considered a fluke or growing pains of the bosses just needing higher stats to actually work in the intended way. These skills for skipping an entire turn seem strong until you realize they're basically just "stun for 1 turn" but you can't use it again and again.
All that to say, I think we're heading into a meta where characters get more and more gimmick abilities to replace the foundations of dokkan without tearing it down. It's like yu-gi-oh stats if you're familiar. It's like we're finally getting effect monsters whereas before we only had the equivalent of normal monsters. The game is going to be flashing a million different colors with all the abilities you can proc and the bosses can kill you immediately if you do it wrong. That's what it seems like to me at least

They don't need to be the immediate answer to that fight, remember that when the original red zones came, they slowly start releasing units that could handle them.
