Modern games are built for 4k, so if you have a 1080p monitor the games will look shit no matter the settings. You're essentially buying a $2000 pc to run the same and look worse. It's really annoying that every recent game is now forced with an upscaling setting.

My PC runs most games maxxed in 1440p 120fps. Also you are full of shit. As long as your monitor is 1080p, games look fine in 1080p. Nobody is running new games in 4k 120fps or even 60fps except 4090 people with frame gen on and/or settings turned down.
But I can use a PC to play not just new games but also lots of older games as well. Plus new games that aren't built for what you describe. Plus mods, plus sales. There's lots of reasons to get or build a PC, and I'm saying that as someone who didn't game on PC for nearly a decade.

A series X with 2 controllers goes for $500 at walmart + the yearly $60 tax for online play
For reference a Series X cpu is on par with Ryzen 7 3700 and the GPU a RX6600XT or RX6700XT so I'll try and beat that without going over a grand
