I don't think they're actively trying, to me it sounded more like a whimsical statement. Nintendo isn't willing to sell so MS would have to pull a hostile takeover. Not only would it be significantly more expensive than ActiBlizz, but you can bet your ass they'd have an even bigger regulatory fight on their hands. Some of MS's defenses against monopoly accusations have hinged on Nintendo existing as a competitor in the console space. They try and buy up Nintendo then it'll be one less leg to stand on.

So far it looks like all the normal levels are easy, but you can get to Special World from W2.
There's a world dedicated to hard levels. In each normal world there's a route you can take to get to a new level in the Special World. If you 100% all the stages you also unlock the Final Final level which is gonna make a lot of children cry.

Well, if you look at it objectively every 2D Mario they release is going to be worse than Mario Maker so aiming it towards kids that haven't played it before is most likely a good call and Mario Maker exists for people that want challenging Mario content. The Wonders are just a feature to set itself apart from Mario Maker so people don't feel completely ripped off but it's still a game that would have been $30 to $40 on an actual handheld and not $60 if Nintendo didn't merge their divisions together.

NSMBU is my favorite 2D mario since World and Wonder hasn't changed my mind.
While they don't quite reach the highs of the nes/snes classics, NSMB1 and Wii are still great games for what they are, IMO

I picked up Odyssey last month because I had finished A Hat in Time and was looking for another 3D platformer to play. It turned out to be a mediocre game that wasn't even half as enjoyable. That's how I learned Nintendo games are a scam. AHiT cost me around 15 EUR while Odyssey cost 50. At least I bought a physical version so I can sell this godawful game and get some of my money back now. I'll never buy a game from this company again, there's a difference between a game being accessible to everyone including children and being targeted at children and mentally-stunted adults only.
