It wasn't just Rockstar. He and his cohorts fricked with plenty of social media companies too and other big players too. Plus, it wasn't just that he hacked these companies, but because he attempted to ransom the stolen information back to them. Also, during sessions with him, he told them that he was just going to go back to having again as soon as he was released so he showed no signs of reform. Him being detained indefinitely has frick-all to do with Rockstar specifically and more his criminal perpencity.

either way, any time someone is sentenced to a mental hospital, the stay is "indefinite" because it's based on your rehabilitation (or ability to be rehabilitated)
