Not really. You can play as both Jacob and Evie despite the lack of incest. You just need to get their DNA seperately(at least that's what Abstergo did for some reason imo).
It's 2 main characters. From the little we got out of the leaks Yasuke (the black guy) has a Samurai playstyle and is apparently responsible for the death of the girl's grandpa. The girl has a ninja playstyle and is a full-fledged assassin. If I remember correctly they are supposed to become allies later on, but they do start out as enemies.

And everybody thought that was fricking moronic instead of already taking the homie samurai trope from Yasuke and a female ninja kunoichi for the assassin. Yeah this sort of nightmarish clusterfrick is exactly why I keep away from that crap. Steam is the most I'm willing to tolerate when it comes to launchers. Especially knowing it's Ubisoft so they will eventually pull the game from your library.
