JP VK3G is...okay.

It's still VK with all its jank and the world is quite small compared to 2 or Eldar Saga, but it's pretty decent, the prison kingdom setting is also realized fairly well in the narrative all in all.
VK1 is super jank but it's not downright terrible, the rest of the series is more than playable as long as you like to see numbers going up and some simple dungeon crawling.
The thing about VK is that it's the only genuine attempt at making Wizardry an action game, it's honestly pretty interesting for that part alone because it's a bonafide action conversion of Wizardry, with a bit of extra spice in the case of VK2, if you like Wizardry you can surely end up appreciating the attempt, even if the results are kinda bad for the most part.
It's also one of those minor game series where you can see that the devs really were trying and honestly loved what they were doing, I know it sounds like a pathetic apology for the games being objectively mediocre but it's one of those rare cases of games that had no meddling on the suits' part and were definitely a product of earnest passion rather than following market trends and/or trying to make money first.

also i want to say Eldar Saga was basically a proto Dragon's Dogma mixing Wizardry with Monster Hunter which is basically what Dragon's Dogma is

You can also play as a robot which is decently fun, robots are really good monks in VK3.
I beat Valhalla Knights 3 and while it did have some interesting mechanics, the game was pretty bad. The lack of fast travel, the shitty "sprinting" QTE that you have to do every 2 seconds, the unbalanced enemies requiring grinding, and so on. Wish they made a fourth game that fixed the previous one's issues...
