Don't understand why this game is so polarizing, it's simply one of the best games released in the last decade or so.

Agreed. Thought it was fricking great. One of the few games I have actually replayed a couple times.
Mooncrash wasnt *as* good but I certainly enjoyed it.
GOTY 2017, exceeded my admittedly low expectations and topped RE7 for me.
I hated mooncrash but I just hate roguelite-type stuff in general.
>friend got filtered because he wanted to stealth past the enemies but couldn't and also got killed by a Nightmare
I thought the Nightmare was a missed opportunity but I'll never forget mimicking to avoid detection, him getting suspicious, so he stared me down while I was popping psi hypos waiting for his timer to run out.
If the Nightmare had gone another pass and the last third was tweaked or shortened Prey would have been an unquestionable 10/10.
i hate bioshock. i hate art deco. i hate dishonored.
prey is pretty good
Easily EASILY one of the best games of the 2010s for sure. Like anything Arkane though it gets overlooked heavily.
Of course as soon as I start a playthrough,a thread pops up. Having a blast with this game. I've played it before but barely got past the Arboretum before losing interest. Feeling very immersed in it this time around though.
Wish I played it myself instead of watching someone else play thru it

>Too much shit locked behind hacking. Oops, no password or keycard for this safe actually exists in game, it's hacking only! Oops!
>You need neuromods to upgrade inventory space, which is ridiculous and makes no neuromod runs a massive headache. like how does it even work
>We interrupt this sci-fi story to bring you a lame lesbian drama story, which has no actual impact on the events or your place in the world.
>can't stop main story-critical audiologs from playing btw
>Respawning enemies, why even bother killing anything
>A cluncky physics engine makes objects vibrate in space, making them seem like a mimic.
>We interrupt this sci-fi story to bring you a lame straight drama story, which has no actual impact on the events or your place in the world.
>Alex's plan in the end of the game makes no sense, typhoon aren't going to care about humanity even if he implants morgan's mirror neurons into one of them.
>Q-beam
>Respawning enemies, why even bother killing anything
Every moron says this but they only 'respawn' like three times throughout the entire game, at key points.
>Alex's plan in the end of the game makes no sense
False
>typhoon aren't going to care about humanity even if he implants morgan's mirror neurons into one of them.
Nice headcanon
>Alex's plan in the end of the game makes no sense
The Phantoms mimic speech that makes sense in context. There's a few times in the game that they call you by name. If they can understand speech, they can understand the emotion behind speech. There's a few moments in the game where it's hypothesized that they're capable of human empathy.
it's boring because of how piss easy it is
>writing is shit
>You fight the same enemies the entire game and combat is brain dead
>You fight the same enemies the entire game
I never understood this criticism. Yeah you fight the same enemies like 99% of all games that get released
>4 enemy types
>you fight all of them the same
You fight enemies the same in every game
>DS/BB/Sekiro
Dodge/parry attacks and press r1
>Every fps ever
Shoot them
>RPG/CRPG
Kill enemies while healing yourself or your teammates
>make literally any mistake
>F9
>phew!
