I love this game so much. The further away we get from it's release, the more fondly I look at it.

It's a modern AAA game with PS2 era soul, a very rare thing.

The hype wasn't as insane as MGSV but at least DMC5 felt like it mostly delivered.

DMC5 and REmake2 felt like being back in the 2000's Capcom era, they've released good stuff since then, but those games back to back was fricking peak.

      >Vergil: No, we are NOT the same. I'm nothing like you.
      >Dante: I kill demons with a big friendly shotgun, how could we be any more compatible?
      >Vergil: I don't use pellets.

Remember when Dante and Vergil were swinging their swords so fast that the rainwater was suspended in the air, only for all of it to cone down at once once they stopped moving?
Remember when Dante ran down a giant demon tower and he threw his sword so hard that the tip started turning red from the sheer heat caused the tip to turn red, and then Dante fricking outran it causing him to also start burning up?

    Why did they get weaker?

They didn't get weaker. They got more precise. Fewer wasted movements, more deliberation.

Guess Dante needed to go SSJ demon XXXVVXXI then he could have tanked it no prop.

DMC operates on shounen logic. Nero, at that moment, was bursting with so much more fighting spirit and humanity that he could b***hslap Dante to the floor.

              Anonymous

Nero would have broken his spirit hand if he tried to punch 2 Dante like that.

Nero spends much more of that day fighting and he has zero demonic power until the end. Its just a b***hslap.

But he just got a new power, a second wind if you will. Dante just went through fighting King Cerberus > fighting V's summons > fighting Vergil. He's literally so exhausted that he's fine to sit the fight out between vergil and nero

Plot reasons. Why are you even trying to discuss this here, in a place that worships 5 and ignores any and all of its faults?

DMC5 may not be a perfect game, it is however, my perfect game.

Why is the game not perfect?

            Anonymous

            English localization could be better
V could have used a bigger movelist
            Default difficulty is too easy
More missions could have been like mission 15

Overall these are minor gripes for me and the game is still one of my 10/10 and top 5 games

Since the game is a 10/10 you would be fine if dmc 6 has all of these problems and more right?

Probably as long as I get more of what I already like in dmc6, I bought dmc5 four times

            V segments
Dante's Michael Jackson dance was like an obligatory "goofy moment" that fell short of DMC4's Shakespeare play
Trish's face scan, and the fact that her and Lady could be removed from the game, and nothing would change
Race swapping of an obscure anime character
No single button input for prop shredder on DSD.
            Kyrie appearing only off screen
None of the bosses besides Cavalier were that memorable
I say all of this as a person that loves DMC5 and the rest of the series.

City environments after mission 2 feel a bit to gray and dull(except for the down hill theatre stag that shit was dope), the tree environments with the exceptions of mission 8 and 16 lack personality, and Vergil in mission 20 is too easy compared to mission 19 vergil. Would have been cool if the tree brought fragments of environments from DMC 1,3,4 back but twisted, kind of like how it brought back the brother's house in mission 17. V(the character)'s gameplay just feels undercooked like DMC 4's Nero's. No god must die or must style(toggle) mode. Sparda sword being an reskin or rebellion. Also I feel like a broken record but the lack of a character selector for most missions is a bummer. The only nitpicks I have is that I wish hell vanguard, frost, plasma, and the abyss made their return(or some type of equivalent). I liked fighting those in the other games.

Probably as long as I get more of what I already like in dmc6, I bought dmc5 four times

I bought 5 three times. Second time was a accident.

why is DMC5 dialogue so weird? it feels like an ESL wrote it compared to 3 and 4

      Anonymous

because all of the scripts are written by someone who's English as the None-th language and then translated afterwards, in 5's case, the VA put a lot of their own spin on it.

      Anonymous

The scripts in DMC3 and DMC4 were heavily altered by Reuben, DMC5 is much more faithful to what's actual in Bingo's script and thus more ESL

My dad works at Capcom and Nintendo
They are making a Special Special Edition for DMC5 exclusively on switch.
Urizen will become playable. Basically Nero without the shitty destructible arm gimmick.
Lady and Trish will be playable again, stealing from Dante again per usual.
    There will be new cutscenes.
The final ending of endings show Lady and Trish picking up kids from the daycare. Dante is a dad.
