I wish this was true but even with IAO the maps and gameplay is worse than the original, all BF2 has going for it is visuals and that's not enough to matter.

Its been a while, they patched it to allow players to host dedicated servers without the need for game spy.
The Classic Collection with the OG games comes out soon with new servers and some extras if you can wait

This is true. The old one is ugly and gets boring really fast. It's not as fun as when I was a kid. I wasted a day modding it, only to play for a few hours before getting bored. The new one can at least entertain you by the sheer spectacle, visuals and sound. If you mod it to play solo, it is a good battlefront experience.

people that are starwars fans? its not fast fashion it isnt like an arbitrary amount of time passes and something you find sick isnt cool anymore. i went back and rewatched some of the old movies recently and now im going to replay some of the old games. everytime i stop being interested in it i get pulled back in by watching the films or playing the games because i forget how cool it all is.

i dont watch the movies for amazing acting or anything i watch them because i think the universe is cool and i like the characters. I grew up with the OT and as of late prefer the prequels. This is a VIDEO GAME board, and starwars spawned a frickload of fun games that only exist because of the movies. But your enjoyment of the games is largely enhanced by having a basic interest in the starwars universe.
also just to end this post, i want to say anyone who doesnt enjoy starwars republic commando doesnt belong on this forum. its fricking great.
given how yidsney is pushing the nostalgia for the early 2000s era Star Wars games, I'm suprised they haven't announced a remaster for Republic Commando. I'm aware they re-released it kinda recently on consoles but it sounds like the perfect game to push right now

My problem with BFII is that everyone is already fricking max level with the best star cards. The star card system blows, there are obviously better cards than others and having those maxxed out, means you win more encounters than your enemy.
