That's all remakes. Braindead consumers and publishers don't want to remake flawed but potentially good games because it would require work and wouldn't sell as well.
Good games have an already established buy in and gamers have this belief that playing a remake of a good game is like playing an inherently better version of the same game, no matter how different it is. The amount of people I've seen literally say "I've always wanted to play x, can't wait for remake of x!!" is insane. If it looks more modern, and feels more modern, it must be better to them.
People don't have this attitude for other media like remaking classic movies but for games it's the opposite.
>Dragon age could benefit for better graphics
DA:O looks fine, it always looked fine, and the game runs fine on any PC hardware as old as 15 years.
Just let things be
please
bioware can't even get dreadwolf out the door as it's apparently been trashbinned once since it was shaping up to be trash. what makes them think they can handle TWO dragon age projects?
It will be remade with the gameplay of DA2, which had a target audience of people who don't "get" that a fireball is an opener to thin out the opposition for melee. In DA2 there is no friendly fire, so AOE are just a way of spamming damage without any positioning or thought other than "are the enemies resistant"
I seriously doubt they would use DA2's gameplay. DA:I's is more likely if they decide (unlikely) to overhaul the gameplay. If memory serves FF was optional in DA:I but it has been ages.
Yeah that's probably the most likely thing they would change for current year culture points. Or make them male. Or make some of them male. In DA:I they didn't have them all other than the 'choice demon' Imshael.
Frick no, literally nobody that worked on Origins is even at Bioware anymore. The studio is run by an actual troony whose self proclaimed goal is to spread as much as pozzed shit as he can.
It would make sense. Mass Effect trilogy got a remaster/port to new consoles to raise money and try to build some hype for a new Mass Effect. They would do something similar to Dragon Age, but they won't have the resources to "update" all the games like Mass Effect got so they just do DAO.
Well first off I never played Jade Republic or TOR (only BG, BG2, and NWN + expansions). So it may be that one of those should be considered the first nu-Bioware game.
DAO was the first game I ever played with gay romance and with very "openly gay" characters that weren't just played up for laughs
Every npc was fully voiced
Compared to the DnD systems I was used to in Bioware games, DAO gameplay is far simpler and basic. The number of spells and degrees of freedom in building your character are much lower. Though I don't actually consider that a negative since DnD doesn't really translate ideally to video games in my opinion
Although DAO is a terrible console experience, it did come out for consoles pretty soon after launch. It is debatable how much consoles were considered during development, their interview questions on this are kind of contradictory, but you can argue it was simplified for them. At any rate, it marked the beginning of this process and each Dragon Age has gotten more simple and more accessible for console players relative to PC, culminating in DA:I which a terrible K+M experience.
Also Dragon Age emphasized cinematography to a much greater extent than the older games I played from them. That is another characteristic of nu-Bioware.
>Although DAO is a terrible console experience
It didn't help that it basically ran at a locked 20fps on both PS3 & 360, with vastly simplified environments compared to the PC version. Enjoyable? Sure. Preferred version? Hell no.
>DAO was the first game I ever played with gay romance
Ah, I knew it would be this and only this. I don't even remember a gay romance in Origins, only in 2 when Anders was flamboyantly gay.
The rest of your points are literally "it's more modern, so it's bad" typical overly insecure homosexual
I'd like to see how you define 'nu-Bioware' if you think none of my arguments have anything to do with it. Just "it's bad now", is that the only way you can describe it? There are perfectly 'modern" CRPGs that don't have the issues I described.

The writers began changing hands specifically for DA2, so that's where I count it going Nu-Bioware. And that's the greatest criticism, the decline in writing quality. But everything else also suffered; only a handful of shitty zones, worse graphics, complete change in art style
But yeah, you can keep knocking Dragon Age Origins because of reasons that aren't even true.
It's going to be pozzed, like all remakes are. >My heckin magerinos are an opressed class and the templars are le bad for safeguarding them from their own stupidity!
As much as people seethe about that, I would prefer it to dragging Shepard back yet again. Moving away from Shepard was not the problem with Andromeda and if they think that then they are drawing the wrong lessons from its flop.
Well I am doubtful that BG3's success is going to translate to increased sales for other CRPGs, but the industry is incredibly imitative. Skyrim's success spawned tons of imitators and can expect BG3 to do the same.
im out this thread but i know you marketers are here to gauge interest DONT FRICKING TOUCH IT you guys dont have the talent anymore and unless its a 1:1 remake with a graphics overhaul dont bother
Some ME1 purists hate the way they changed it to try and make it feel more like ME2/3. I would guess a DAO remake would be redesigned enough to try and make the console experience less terrible, which is probably going to antagonize keyboard+mouse players.
If they don't frick it up, it could unironically be bigger than BG3 because Origins already has better characters, better writing, better magic, and a better plot
No
YES!
>remaking game that is already good
why
You do a remake to cash in on nostalgia and good will. If you remake a bad game, less people will buy it.
That's all remakes. Braindead consumers and publishers don't want to remake flawed but potentially good games because it would require work and wouldn't sell as well.
Why remake something bad? Has anyone actually done this?
>Oh man, that game sucked, but they should remake it
Who the frick ever said this?
Worked for Resident Evil 1
The geniuses of THQ remade Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning for some godforsaken reason
Remake is not the same as a remaster anon
Does a remaster count that basically overhauled the game from a C into an A-?
Good games have an already established buy in and gamers have this belief that playing a remake of a good game is like playing an inherently better version of the same game, no matter how different it is. The amount of people I've seen literally say "I've always wanted to play x, can't wait for remake of x!!" is insane. If it looks more modern, and feels more modern, it must be better to them.
People don't have this attitude for other media like remaking classic movies but for games it's the opposite.
To release it for newer consoles, obviously. Dragon age could benefit for better graphics and more armor variety
>Dragon age could benefit for better graphics
DA:O looks fine, it always looked fine, and the game runs fine on any PC hardware as old as 15 years.
Just let things be
please
This game could be way better. Especially the levels. But the foundation is already good. One of the games that could benefit from it.
to consoom
it's literally unplayable on any PC made past 2012
>m-m-muh malware fix from that troon on the steam forums tho!!!1!11!
No.
Money but also being based
why
They've scrapped the 4th DA like 3 times now
Might as well do a remake instead
Its the only good one in the series
so they can make everyone POC or "inclusive"
EA threatened them to actually make something and they're panicking
Origins a PS360 game and is really dated.
Absolutely not
Lmao they finally hit this point after all the last failed abortions
okay into the "we wanted to go back to our roots and make the game we're known for" trash bin it goes.
bioware can't even get dreadwolf out the door as it's apparently been trashbinned once since it was shaping up to be trash. what makes them think they can handle TWO dragon age projects?
Frick no, i dont want those c**ts from nuBioware anywhere near origins
is it cause of BG3's success?
At moments like this I'm glad I no longer play video games.
If it was a graphical overhaul and nothing else sure. The game looked ugly even for the time.
this. but we both know that's not all they'll change.
>remaking a 14 year old game
Death to the video game industry when
More like demaking. 0% chance it will be good. Hopefully it gets cancelled like the KoToR one.
Is this coming out after Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, Mass Effect 4 and the Kotor remake?
>the Kotor remake
Didn't they can that one?
they are gonna make a sten trans
They are going to make YOU trans
I don't know kind of current year adjustments they could do that would infuriate me. Maybe make Morrigan bi.
Based change
The opinions of yuri-degenerate vermin mean nothing.
if they make alistair bi as well its over
Dead Space was fine.
how gay is it gonna be?
It will be remade with the gameplay of DA2, which had a target audience of people who don't "get" that a fireball is an opener to thin out the opposition for melee. In DA2 there is no friendly fire, so AOE are just a way of spamming damage without any positioning or thought other than "are the enemies resistant"
So no, it won't be good.
I seriously doubt they would use DA2's gameplay. DA:I's is more likely if they decide (unlikely) to overhaul the gameplay. If memory serves FF was optional in DA:I but it has been ages.
it would be impressive if they are that out of touch.
it'll be trash. They'll rewrite Oghren and change everything to be more inclusive to trannies and Black folk who don't even play the game.
I just want them to add human commoner as an origin so the hero can be a direct parallel to Loghain's story.
>will the remake of a bad game be good
made me reply
InB4 Desire Demons wear pants suits now.
Yeah that's probably the most likely thing they would change for current year culture points. Or make them male. Or make some of them male. In DA:I they didn't have them all other than the 'choice demon' Imshael.
But that's the only good DA game there is. Why don't they remake the shit ones?
No
Dunno about that Morrigan
that morrigan doesnt look anywhere near dirty but still alluring enough
i already fricking hate it.
Manjaw Morrigan
> frostbite
Man I hope not
I hope it is, Frotbite is really good looking engine and they have andromeda as an example to flesh out all the bugs.
they would absolutely butcher that feeling it gave
?si=j8YzAkhTJ6D-8PaD
They'll probably give it that awful over the top DA2/Inquisition aesthetic instead of the generic but serviceable look Origins had.
Frick no, literally nobody that worked on Origins is even at Bioware anymore. The studio is run by an actual troony whose self proclaimed goal is to spread as much as pozzed shit as he can.
They will add a voiced protagonist and you'll have cattle defending it, mark my fricking words.
>reportedly
reported by who?
It would make sense. Mass Effect trilogy got a remaster/port to new consoles to raise money and try to build some hype for a new Mass Effect. They would do something similar to Dragon Age, but they won't have the resources to "update" all the games like Mass Effect got so they just do DAO.
Stop! I can only get so erect!
>DA O remake, to "catch it up" to 2 and Inquisition in terms of setting and lore
yeah no thanks
i don't want nu-bioware touching this, stop it
What is funny is that for me I consider DAO to be the first "nu-Bioware" game in the first place.
>I consider DAO to be the first "nu-Bioware" game in the first place
Well then you're fricking moronic. Go ahead and try to explain your reasoning
Well first off I never played Jade Republic or TOR (only BG, BG2, and NWN + expansions). So it may be that one of those should be considered the first nu-Bioware game.
DAO was the first game I ever played with gay romance and with very "openly gay" characters that weren't just played up for laughs

damn, good post
>DAO was the first game I ever played with gay romance
Ah, I knew it would be this and only this. I don't even remember a gay romance in Origins, only in 2 when Anders was flamboyantly gay.

There's Zevran, but he's bisexual, so I don't know if that counts.
It's going to be pozzed, like all remakes are.
>My heckin magerinos are an opressed class and the templars are le bad for safeguarding them from their own stupidity!
Oh god, the leaker yesterday was telling the truth? Does that mean Mass Effect 4 is definitely featuring a new protag, not Shepard?
QRD?
https://arch.b4k.co/v/thread/663177101/#663177101
As much as people seethe about that, I would prefer it to dragging Shepard back yet again. Moving away from Shepard was not the problem with Andromeda and if they think that then they are drawing the wrong lessons from its flop.
But Shepard will still be dragged back, you just won’t be playing as him for some reason.
>modern EA/Bioware
hard no
there gonna ruin it and change dialogue to fit "current times"
So... are CRPG's the new trend for the industry now?
No, dating sims are.
Well I am doubtful that BG3's success is going to translate to increased sales for other CRPGs, but the industry is incredibly imitative. Skyrim's success spawned tons of imitators and can expect BG3 to do the same.
It's going to become "we have baldurs gate 3 at home". Dragon age origins is the only good one out of the three, leave it as it is for frick sake
im out this thread but i know you marketers are here to gauge interest DONT FRICKING TOUCH IT you guys dont have the talent anymore and unless its a 1:1 remake with a graphics overhaul dont bother
>graphics overhaul
>giving them the chance to bog Morrigan and Leliana
Straight port or bust.
>Remaking a game when it's taking 10 years each for both Mass Effect and Dragon Age sequels.
Lmao.
Don't know. They managed to remake the Mass Effect trilogy without wienering everything up, but at the end of the day, it's still modern BioWare.
Some ME1 purists hate the way they changed it to try and make it feel more like ME2/3. I would guess a DAO remake would be redesigned enough to try and make the console experience less terrible, which is probably going to antagonize keyboard+mouse players.
frick off
Will Sten have horns?
Doesn't not having horns mark him as special or something?
It's the worst game I've ever played so no
If they don't frick it up, it could unironically be bigger than BG3 because Origins already has better characters, better writing, better magic, and a better plot
>origins remake
Gee I can't wait for this.
When people plays this and realize how shit dao is I feel we can finally put this whole xdrone era nostalgia behind us
I can't possibly imagine caring about a Bioware game, remake or not.
>Will modern Bioware make a good game
probably, they will make Sten trans though, but modders will fix it.
I'm telling Nexus so they can pre-ban them
No, Sten would be turned into a generic white male incel caricature since he believes women shouldn't be warriors.
DA:O was already mediocre, a modern BIoware remake would make it outright garbage.
well the first game was shit
maybe the remake fixes it for once
That game was dogshit
>NPC in your camp site talks about DLC
could you post the link? I can't find the article.
