but are you having a blast?
no I'm just playing it ironically
I'm blasting all over the place.
pc gamers are fricking cancer and i'm glad they're treated as an afterthought
yeah nothing says cancer like wanting to fix something or improve it
You're speaking to an insect.
the port being bad is fine but then you morons feel the need to spread misinfo about the mtx because you're butthurt over the bad port
dunno what the frick you're talking about dude, I never did any of that shit and quite frankly it was annoying as hell
You sound like a fox lusting over certain types of grapes.
frick are you talking about
You sound outright delusional.
no i'm not
the mxt bullshit only blew up because steamies wanted to find shit to be mad about
thats why on every youtube video and every article and every post here or elsewhere it's a screenshot of the steam page for the microtransactions
>hmmmm I love when corpos take a fat dump in my mouth and I am unable to even try to fix their mess because I am a cuckold!
Consoletrannies in a nutshell lmao.
you are a fricking swine playing a game at 30 fps in 2024 on a state of the art console and saying "yes daddy shit in my mouth more"
the technology you have hooked up to your television set is so advanced it should be rendering everything for you in beautiful ten million fps but developers treat your new and improved hardware like it's just a bigger toilet bowl to take a fatter dump in
All this backtracking is getting to me. Ferrystones should be cheaper but rare or restock after you've killed x number of enemies
Just give me an eternal ferrystone aaaaaaaaa
why the frick did capcom think it was a good idea to make every single attack in the game, including from level one goblins that take a sliver of health from you if that, stagger you for 89 bazillion fricking years, or worse, knock you down for double that
and it happens to everyone regardless of knockdown resistance it feels like. even fighter. the only thing ive ever seen NOT get staggered to frick by one hit was warrior while holding down charge
also
>play fighter
>uh oh here comes gobbo 9 mile jump because they have the legs of spiderman for some reason
>raise shield
>uh oh you didnt perfect block it now you get to be thrown backwards and stuck in a backpedal animation for an eternity
>oh and you cant further block during it so the 2nd one right behind him knocks you down
>now you're mobbed by harpies that spawned in
>now you literally cannot get up at all while you get assraped by 9 things
>and your pawns are standing around picking their noses doing nothing helpful too
>caps it off by a harpy picking you up and throwing you off a cliff to waste a wakestone
being a melee vocation is just asking to hate the game
play better
git gud
moronic mods like this were made for shitters like you
Skill issue
>play thief
>kill everything
>kill everything again
>kill everything again
>kill everything again
>kill everything again
>kill everything again
>spin
>kill everything again
>kill everything again
>kill everything again
>self immolate
>kill everything again
>kill everything again
>kill everything again
>kill everything again
>grappling hook
>kill everything again
>kill everything again
>kill everything again
>kill everything again
>kill everything again
>kaboom
>kill everything again
I'm not sure what you're talking about.
I enjoy playing Thief but it's also kind of frustrating in that I like Fighter but it's not as effective. If I just make my main pawn a Thief will they still do crazy damage, or are they too dumb to?
>uh oh you didnt perfect block it now you get to be thrown backwards and stuck in a backpedal animation for an eternity
That's why they have the passive that reduces the time they take to recover from getting hit, floored, fallen, or recoiling from a block.
that little story is WITH the passive, which also takes up an augment slot
I doubt that. I don't get combo'd up and down like you claim with it on. So I can only believe you aren't using it.
Sounds like you need to play Mystic crutch hand and just mirror shield yourself through the entire game.
It's like the singular point of difficulty the game has.
My only death in the last 20 hours was being stunlocked by 3 goblins who whittled down my health for 5 minutes while my pawns sniffed glue behind a rock.
If you'd have complained about being an archer and getting ganged up on you might have had a point, but fighter and warrior are fricking awesome for close range. You have good stagger resist, parries, and bash moves to throw enemies off balance.
Upgrade your armor using dwarven blacksmithing for increased knockdown resistance, it's this game's version of poise.
Fighter is meant to block and parry and stay moving, you have a skill that draws enemies to you, use it to maneuver them where you want them. Of course you're going to get staggered because the one method to avoid it you're not using. If you want to super armor through hits play Warrior and barge cancel/initiate into swings.
>thief
dodge everything easy
>fighter
block and parry
>archer
why even get close except for cool mid-air finisher
>mage, sorc, magick archer
same thing
>mystic spearhand
bubble
haven't tried warrior or trickster but it sounds like a skill issue to me bro
>warrior
ignore the slap and just continue armoring through shit la mayo
Dumb fricking moron.
Also Fighter has a skill to break free from stagger.
>Fighter
homie, you got blocks, parries, hyper armor on moves like shield bash and then you have the 2nd best defensive move in the game, the shield spin move that allows you to animation cancel out of staggers and makes you unstaggerable during its duration. Your just supremely shit at the game
Spam Impeccable guard. It recovers you from a stagger, you have super armor, it staggers monsters around you. You see an attack coming? Impeccable guard. Screw actually raising your shield. Big monsters about to stomp on you? Use it. Its practically invulnerability for fighter. Raising your shield is good for harpies when you have that elemental shield counter where they take damage just hitting your shield. That knocks them out of the air just fine.
>reeeee why do I have to play by the rules set by the developers so a video game can be a video game? reeeee
what a moron you are. a moronic homosexual.
I somehow ended up in Bakbattahl after just bumbling around. There better be a fricking portcrystal here.
There is no portcrystal in bakbattahl, one of the major cities of the game where the tutorial told you there is a portcrystal in each one. At least you have a portcrystal in harve village.
>Portcrystals are permanent fixtures of cities and towns.
I GUESS BAKBATTAHL'S JUST SOME BUMFRICK COLLECTION OF MUDHUTS THEN
proof that beastren aren't people
the more I retry the more it gets harder to fight a single drake I'm struggling to defeat.. but if I restart from the last Inn rest, I'll lose all my progress, frick!
Just run
When I press load from last save, it just put back to where I died and the drake is already in my face.
So? Just run. It's not like it chases you.
It gets harder because your Loss Gauge doesn’t recover after reloading, unless you use a wakestone. Bolt out of there if it’s too low.
Still don't really understand the loss meter. Love this game but it seems like they kinda took a page out of tanimura's book from ds2 with the HP. It's not hard to go sit back at a camp after you get hit. And it's not hard to deaggro the enemy you want to save scum beforehand. But I'll be goddamned if that doesnt feel like artificial wastes of time menu hopping or accepting you're going to have a shit time. Save scumming was so much better in DD1. They made the game as janky as they wanted but still gave you the option to save after every new discovery and it didn't get fricked by an auto save with a loss meter.
>out of tanimura's book from ds2 with the HP
Which was taken from Miyazaki's book from demon's souls???
>Still don't really understand the loss meter.
To encourage you to rest or spend resources.
>can't search for pawns by name or creator name
so how the frick do I find a SphinxParent
offline mode
So at the end of the credits is the brine finally gone for good? I'm happy for the old guy finally getting his wish to sail the sea wherever the frick he wants to go. Frick the brine.
Are there fake players who hire your pawn to boost your likes and RC? I've noticed I can't actually look at any of the info on some of the "people" who have been hiring mine.
Is pawn sharing crossplat? Maybe that is why
Are you asking me or stating it as a fact
asking and suggesting an explanation
I think that means your pawn was lost to brine or not revived in time. I have 30 hours and mine has only been hired like three times and I was able to see their info.
News flash morons! Crapcom BOTS their games. They are all fake hires. God, some of you are total idiots
The developer pawns literally say "CAPCOM" in their details. Using such an insidious word such as "bots" is just silly.
You're intentionally trying to make it sound more shady than it really is.
>Fake BOTTED player hires your pawn
>Pawn returns
>System blocks you from looking at his profile, arisen and pawn in the report menu
>Gives player the false satisfaction of someone hiring their pawn.
Are you intentionally dumb? Honest question
I know people who get jackshit because they just don't ever customized their pawns loadout.
They also don't put a quest with a decent reward on them.
How much content is there in Batahl compared to Vermund?
maybe 80% as much but twice as much combat
Unironically like none. The zone itself is neat and the monsters are beefier than the tissue paper you've fought up to that point but there are like 3? quests in total there. One of which is tucked away and hidden.
WHERE IS THE SPINXPARENT
I killed the hoe
You have to go to the fellowship stone and turn off online mode. Lots of people scamming with fake SphinxParent pawns with get hires online.
You can just check if it's made by CAPCOM or not. Look at the Arisen creator of the pawn.
You don't have to turn off offline mode you idiots, you can literally filter out pawns in the menu by ones made by Capcom. Just go to the right Riftstone and open it and they're all in there.
You can recruit any pawn so long as it's moniker is correct. I did the quest with some randos pawn that had like 900+ ratings.
You need specifically a Capcompawn for the Spinxparent.
No you don't
who the frick keeps spreading this
unless my game is the one copy out there that is unique I did it with some randoms SphinxParent
The fact that it didn't work for me when I did a player made Sphinxparent and had to reload from my inn save. I fully believe the Capcom pawn was the entire reason it worked.
A player made one worked for me
It's not the name of the pawn that's important, it's the moniker. The moniker has to be Sphinx.
Moniker has to be specifically Sphinxparent.
What's up with this sphinx thing?
Two days ago, I entered the rift and it was all Sphinxsomething pawns.
I thought I ran into some reddit meme, but is there more to it?
Literally anything can kill me with only 144 hp left when I keep starting over.
can i get a gentle hint on how to learn elvish or teach it to my pawn?
Remember that gifting and affinity is in this game too.
Gift flowers to the inkeeper every day until she blushes. Affinity gain from gifts has a daily cap.
Even if I try to leave the area where I'm stuck fighting a Drake, it's surrounded by hobgoblins everywhere so I can't even walk back to a camp site location to restore my health.
Hire my 7ft tall tomboy mage. She’s lvl 35 on Xbox her code is WZRTLDEDXFJS
Has anyone tried using the Empowered Godsbane right after starting NG+? I assume it immediately triggers Unmoored World
Why the frick would it do that?
Its how you enter the unmoored world in the first place
Just checked, it's just there so you can have a nice day lol
Oh right, nah it's only in that specific circumstance, cos you kill the fricker and break the cycle basically.
you no konger have the sword
You do though, it's one of the first things I noted
I heard they reduced all classes from 6 skills to 4. Is that right?
Technically yes, but that's because they made 2 skills built in to the movesets.
Yes. but quite a few of the original abilities are now active use and don't need equipped.
yes except for sorcerer who just got shafted royally
Pretty sure the Sorcerer and mage got their magic casting speed buffed significantly as well as one of the few classes that have more than 2 hidden abilities to learn.
Wait 2 abilities? 2 abilities per class? The only class I've gotten 2 maister skills on is sorcerer, is there more?
Nah most classes only have one maister skill
No. The only other class that has two maister skills is thief. I have no idea what that anon is on about.
Thief and sorcerer are the only classes with two maisters
oh what you mean maelstrom and comestion, both of whom suck ASS in this game compared to in DD1? not to mention that the quests to get them are hidden and ass to play, and one of them takes place at the border checkpoint which is infamous for slowing the game down like a bug stuck in glue, making it agonizing to play? and that you have to either drop 30k gold on forgeries to get both or pick one or the other?
yeah. lol. okay guy.
Maelstorm sucks a lot more I dd2 yea. Can't quickcast or move while casting and the storm doesn't move around just sits stationary
Is there any better magic in DD2 than DD1?
imo sorcerer was way better in DD1, there were more spells, you could carry more spells, idt theres a single ballistic spell at all in DD2. seems like it fits the role of being more helpless solo which Im just enjoying from a masochistic standpoint
All healing/buff magic is substantially better both in visibility and function.
I think DD1's magic looks way better but I haven't seen all of 2's yet. The healing spell in 2 is just awful looking, like some shitty mod.
holy frick this webm reminded me that you could manually aim aoe effects in DD1 but you cant in DD2, it auto targets every time.
>trying to hit harpies with that shitty flamethrower
ye idk why they fricked with it
I prefer it because it has a clearly defined edge. Even in your webm it is unclear where the magic stops because it's a sort of fog.
That's a dumb reason for 2 reasons.
1. That is modded or using a lower version of it or something, vanilla has a clearer outline
?t=25
and 2. I think the range was larger in 1 than 2 and you could aim it.
It's not unclear at all because there's a visual effect on all the characters that enter the magic zone. Maybe play the game
Oh no, 30000 gold that I need for... what? Exactly? consumables are basically vendor trash and enemies/chests shit out gold nonstop. Hell the sphinx pays you 100k just to fricking find her, and you can do that for free by just grabbing her when she flies away.
Galvanize and Quick Cast are great utility abilities, but I really fricking miss Gicel
So does the coronation quest actually lock me out of anything I’m doing? I have no timed quests currently, but will the others fail?
Only Grant's quests
It locks you out of the knight captains quests and locks in your "romance".
Who's Grant and who's the Knight Captain?
The Black person.
The dlc will be 1 dorf city in a frozen biome
source
I was thinking the same thought
Unironically kino, especially if there's a mines of moria-esque analog in the frozen mountains with a not-Balrog at the bottom
>This is for you, Master. I hope you like it. I made it myself.
>It's a relief to be home. I must say, not all Arisen are quite like you, Master.
>I'd much sooner adventure with you, Master
>Don't leave me behind...!
Bros, why is my Pawn so cute?
>Pawn returns from rift
>MAN THAT FRICKING SUCKED ARISEN
>The entire report is that they camped all the time, ran into locked doors and battled constantly.
Stop abusing my pawn you prostitutes.
https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonsdogma2/mods/221
Warfarer is finally fixed
madre de dios...
>only 1500g
pass
Road pawns won't talk to you if you don't have your main pawn with you /psa
Are imbued weapons better with Elven upgrades + Magika rings or just Baathal upgrades + Strength rings like normal weapons?
>names their pawn MainPawn that wear's marcher's gear
yeah thats an easy pass brother.
In DD1, there was one black character.
There was more than 1 but DD2 is full of them and they aren't the good kind.
>escort guy in oxcart quest
>it makes you pick a side
Should I side with Maario Naharis or the Vermundian soldiers?
the 'right' answer is whats his name
Finally finished the game. I think I'm gonna start a new character and try a different class! Time to go into the main menu and click "New Game"
clinically moronic
in case anyone was wondering: you have to
unsync steamcloud, delete your saves, start game, close game, sync cloud to start a new game
i would drag my hogma through a pit of enraged saurians for but a whiff of his sweaty perilium
another psa:
you can get to battahl early through guerco cave here.
you have to get past a dragon that is asleep at the beginning of the morning here tho
Better PSA; you don't have to go through the door of checkpoint town, you can just go around in the river with no issue.
I think this was the highlight of the game for me, fighting an ogre, cyclops and chimera back to back through the fog and rain at a level low enough it was still quite a challenge.
>Take that shortcut
>Oh hey a dragon
>Shoot it
>Die
>Shoot it
>Die
>Shoot it
>Die and discover you can heal yourself after death... neat
>Die again
>You know what maybe I just avoid it
>Go camp at the campfire 20 feet away and it fricks off
Can you just walk to moonglint and beat the game immediately in NG+? I accidentally finished the game and want to explore the end part more.
doubt since it should be buried until the last main quest, plus you would need the key to the gate if you got that far
key to the gate? You mean the spell door? You start NG+ with the godsbane.
no the key you get from dueling whats his name
hmmm I wonder if you could get a forgery of that key.
I heard the game ends pretty abruptly so I've been trying to do all the side quests I can find before the main ones. I'm lvl 30 and my next main quest is to go to the masquerade but the dude says to finish any other stuff before doing his quest so I'm scared. Will it lock me out of some quests I may have missed?
Yes, go talk to ulrika and wilhelmina. There's a slim chance you might've already been locked out of their quests, it's pretty lame
that's the coronation, it only locks out small sidequests in verm like ornate box
Wait, Blades of the Pyre is good? I thought it's just Fire Boon on yourself
Blades of Pyre is an explosion you do on yourself and does a ton of damage to yourself and enemies around you. However if you activate formless feint which negates all damage you pretty can just spam this overpowered explosion and wreck most enemies and bosses
>he didn't create a copy of the permanent Gaol Key before returning it to Brandt
OH NO NO NO NO AHAHAHAHAHA
How do you make copies of items?
Forgery guy shop on checkpoint rest.
He has some israeli name like Ibrahim or something like that
Why bother, I never ever got arrested.
>caring about the profile of anyone who rented your pawn
You've got too much free time
someone once sent my pawn back in tights with a gift of wood
i recruited a sorcerer and didn't realize she didn't have a staff equipped, it's working better than expected
melee pawns make excellent front liners I'm discovering
Is there anything equipment or items I should be watching out for while clearing out the ancient battle ground castle/area?
did you escort oscar or whatever his name was
he leads you to one of the books needed for the sorcerer maister quest
yeah i escorted him, got the stuff from the room he gave the key to.
Just exploring the upper area now and the cave behind the top of the castle.
you probably got everything but you can go further north to meet the sphinx
I found her by climbing the mountain behind Misty Meadows
me n my hoe are Having A Blast
>fat elf girl mage pawn
>buff heal spell set
>whines when I run off because she cant keep up
some players strike gold with their pawn creation
there are literally only 4 options and I hate them all
you play too much vidya
No I don't
dd2 is good
No is not
its the best medieval jack of all trades since Skyrim
Says who
Link pawn thanks
Wasn't that big on mage because I feel like I need more than 4 skill slots, but holy shit Empyrean's amazing.
>huge AoE
>floodlight
>LODDA DAMAGE on undead
the mystic spearhand master skill is pretty cool
So... what counts as "Western Vermund" for the pawn badges? I'm counting like ten max beyond the river west of Harve Village.
I put my pawn quest to defeat a Sphinx and no one has done it yet. I don't really care too much if it never gets done, but I do find it funny.
I don't have to kill the sphinx right? She's charming I like her
You don’t but there is a reward
No reward is worth it
She's practically asking for it because she just flaunts the reward in your face
>She's just asking for it look at what she's holding as a reward
Shame on you anon
>3 bandits and a mage
Abusing the beyblade skill feels wrong but i can kill drakes in under a minute now.
i just like looking at her 🙂
>I shared the cares of those who I've met
Yeah. She definitely got her back blown by that arisen. Over for cuckanons
pawns are objects, you'd be mad to make one your beloved anyway
Where can Ulrika can be found after she's made head of the village?
Need her for a quest
For me, she was in one of the houses near the entrance of the village. Didn't have any special label on the map.
usually just wandering around the new village I think, but she shows up in front of your house sometimes for an escort quest, if she's not home maybe that's where she is
Goblin's first day at work.
They aren't sending their best.
one of my oxcarts got attacked by a single goblin
the frick was he thinking
Whoever made a cute, white-haired pawn named Sophia, she was really strong, but holy shit she's the most moronic hire I've had so far. She keeps jumping to her death, and in the last one, her body somehow fricking hovered halfway down the sheer cliff.
Alright. I'm level 50 and have the armor from volcano island. I got all the vocation augments I wanted on both myself and my pawn.
Time to start the main quest.
use a mod to make enemies harder if you need to.
I beat the game and now want to start another character instead of NG+. Is there anything different in NG+?
This is what I've found so far:
>Get to keep the magic sword, it still functions like in NG which means that you can do stuff like KYS and open the Volcanic Island door. Still haven't figured out if you can use this to skip directly to endgame since Talos doesn't spawn when you activate the door unless you've seen his wake up cutscene but I guess that you should be able to get to endgame quicker since you just need to talk to cat arisen and use his elevator in the underwater castle to see Taloses cutscene
>You can now buy the best gear from the dragonforger dude permanently and can also give some stamina buffs and level up bonuses to you if you pay him for it
>All shops have had their inventories updated, gear shops now sell the 2nd best gear in the game and a lot of Generic and wandering vendors now sell stuff like Ferrystones, Panaceas and Allheals
>The stone bridges around Vermund seems to break/repair since the one directly west of Vermund was non-broken in NG but broken in NG+ while the bridge that leads directly into the elf forest was broken in NG but repaired in NG+. There might be some other trigger for this that I've missed though so it might not be tied to NG+
>Pawns will now occasionally say:"I knew you loved this world too much to abandon it Arisen!" when you talk to them
Side note since it is not tied to NG+ but there DOES exist some form of level scaling it seems. Almost every Cyclops I've met have been replaced with the armoured variants, some goblin ambushes have had their standard gobbos replaced with the green dickstabby kind instead and I now randomly come across Hobgoblins in the world where there didn't use to be any before. They all still have negative HP though but they are more aggresive and deal more damage than their standard variants
my pawn said something like "in our previous world we didn't..." when i got a better quest ending in ng+. It's nice how they remember some details.
Is there a portcrystal in Bakbattahl? Got here a couple of hours ago but I haven't seen it
No, hope you brought yours
2 is kinda stingy with those
Ah, that's a bummer. Gonna work on some other quests here then before checking on stuff back in the city. Thanks, anons!
No. Make sure you have one on hand as you progress further into the game so you can drop them in far away spots.
>49 hours
>still haven't seen a single dullahan
they aren't real
Think it only spawns at night, first time i was like level 10, second time I was higher level but in process of leveling my mage vocation and couldn't kill it.
Those guys are everywhere once you get to "that" part of the game.
the game is basically over by then
never mind, i found one and he ran away
they seem to spawn just before dawn
I found one and it brined itself, I hate the brine
I've seen two in one play session 15 hours in or something. I couldn't defeat either before the dawn
Is there any point to level up mage if I just want to play sorcerer?
The stamina recovery speed augment could be nice. No clue what the actual % difference is.
not really unless you want the enchantment duration augment
sorc probably doesn't need the stamina recovery augment since you just hold triangle for a second anyway
Yes. Mage is fun as frick.
mage has the only holy spell in the game and uses staffs instead of archistaves, besides that there's not much reason. mage pawn AI is quite good and will keep your weapon buffed so you don't need to do it yourself unless you feel like it
MA mastery is also holy
No. Mage is a supportcuck pawn class.
>dd2
>wilds
capcom just needs to reboot lost planet, with or without inafune at this point. they are on a potential roll
God I wish
I know that it is technically playable but a proper patch to make the game's aspect ratio/fov better on PC alongside kbd controls and whatnot for 2 would also be a great thing to do before a new LP game
>new LP game
never
Finally unlocked Warfarer, I was actually expecting to get 3 weapon skills PER WEAPON, not just 3 weapon skills TOTAL.
At least it's still pretty busted since you can use daggers and magic bow on the same vocation since they work great even without equipping any of their weapons skills.
This game's mechanics are legitimately amazing and fun to frick around with.
It would be cool if this game had a similar kind of modding scene to Skyrim, I'd be more than happy to toy with these mechanics more with community made content, but sadly that probably won't happen.
It's already got a decent handful of tweaks and fixes, it seems pretty easy to mod especially compared to the first game
But it likely won't be anything like Skyrim, Skyrim gets shit like that because they provide actual modding tools, the creation kit and script extenders and stuff that let you actually add objects and actions to the game naturally instead of replacing stuff or using hacky fragile and limited solutions. At most you might eventually see something like the Souls games mods, Daughters of Ash etc, but even those mostly do a lot of clever asset reuse and model swapping stuff. That would still be really cool though.
https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonsdogma2/mods/221
how do you knock over the medusa to chop her head off
every time i climb up to her head to do draw and quarter, it just deletes her hp and she doesn’t fall down
What's the best item to dupe, i'm leaning towards port crystal for the sphinx quest reward?
That's the same conclusion I came to, I've yet to regret it after completing the game.
>Make a simple pawn quest of resting at 3 campsites with 10k gold reward
>For some reason no one was able to complete this quest even though plenty of people have hired my pawn over the last few days
I'm just curious whether the 10k gold reward I put out was just a one time only payment from me or will I have to pay another 10k when multiple people completed the quest.
it's a one time payment when you set it up isn't it?
I don't think people often rest multiple times with the same pawn, at least in the early game when you're levelling up quickly though. Usually it's only once or twice per outing and then you end up back at the city and a few levels higher so you get a new pawn. I usually just did "kill a cyclops" with a panacea and it gets done maybe 70% of the time. Have to pick a new one now that my pawn has the cyclops badge though.
>put a 10k reward for a quest
>see 10k get deducted from your pocket every somebody in the world completes it
That would be fricking hilarious, but no.
going off dd1 exp most people pick pawns based on looks and skills. make a sexy mage chick and watch the rewards roll in
Upgrading your gear is pretty expensive so my first priority when hiring pawns is to see whether or not their pawn quest rewards 10k gold.
This has bitten me in my ass one time when I didn't hire a single mage for my party since none of them had any 10k gold reward pawn quests.
Also you need to be at the right level. I made a Samus Aran Fighter pawn at like level 10 and that did way better than the same pawn at level 50
Just do a cyclops kill for 10k
If you're low enough to do the first pawn quest 'travel a day and a night's for the wake stone do that
Where the frick do I get edlricite
if I'm not mistaken you can find these dropped by some purple ectoplasms found commonly in the endgame area
Warrior's hyper armor is a drug, I literally can't play as anything else now, just unlocked mystic spear and im dying to goblins wtf, I feel so vulnerable it's crazy
Mystic Spear hand gets invincibility, though.
Are you moronic? Just unlock their shield. Spearhand cant die.
Lol wtf. Augural flare is absolutely insane. I had to rewatch the clip and look at the sorcerer skills to find out what the frick happened.
https://twitter.com/i/status/1772835939586301960
Holy crap, I wish I was smart enough to come up with stuff like tihs
That's a big girl
I love how the pawn dialogue doesn't even match up. Fricking lazy devs.
What the frick do I do (ending) after talking to Ghosty McWhothefrickevenishe at the coronation and getting sent back to the dragon ride? I moved to his heart because it was beating and whatever but nothing seems to happen.
you have to brine the Dragon
use the Godsbane for that
Oh, so like... use it on myself and cos we're 'linked' it'll do it to him too? I got the Godsbane out but as it was just 'stab self' I figured it would just kill me like the original
yes, that's the correct thing to do
Thanks for that. I'm now on Mars.
So what the frick is even going on? Even DD1 made more sense than this.
>So what the frick is even going on?
all of the oceans rose above the earth and the brine that was at the bottom of the oceans has become the new sky, there are more enemies, no more day/night cycle, and the brine will destroy the land with orbital strikes if you don't take care of the red pillars of light or if you sleep too often without clearing them
The Seneschal is mad you won't play your part in the world and be the king, so he's decided to take his toys and go home. His toys include all the water on the planet, and going home involves abandoning the world to inevitable dissolution by the Brine. You're on a ~12 day time limit until everything dies. You can extend the time limit by rushing to the red pillars of light and killing their bosses, else the entire world gets slowly dissolved from the outside in.
It's pretty funny how busted ricochet hunter is inside of caves. I'll shoot a fully one in a battle near the entrance and find dead enemies for like a mile.
Same as DD1, then.
Now you know what Bitterblack Isle felt like in DD1.
Archer in general feels pretty strong. All my previous archer pawns used to stand around doing barely anything. Only creatures posing any problem at all are Saurians due to their toughness. Not as fun as getting up close to the enemy, though.
>Saurians due to their toughness
Oh yeah, reminds me when I played warrior and make saurian skewers.
Literally just plow through them, pick a full hp ones and send them from a cliff or into the brine.
Then I maxed the warrior and swapped to something else, they become a problem once more.
Got to max level in DD1 farming Death with this cheese strat.
>Trickster stand dies if you swap weapons
Wow, two useless vocations for the price of one
At least my bro is finally getting use, and also gifting rare gear to people in return for quest items I was too moronic to dupe is working
>Trickster stand dies if you swap weapons
welp, that fricking sucks.
Are there any lengthy dungeons in this game outside of Drobnir's Grotto?
Not quite on that scale but there are a few medium-sized ones.
>mine
>coral snakes hideout
>waterfall cave
>the cave where you rescue the elf girl
>ancient battleground/worldsend cave
>the tower in battahl where you fight the drake with sigurd
Honestly this is the most disappointing aspect of the game for me. There are multiple locations where a full-blown dungeon or minidungeon would have fit in perfectly, like Seafloor Shrine or Moonglint Tower. I'm shocked that those two in particular are so bare-bones.
A few yeah, that one's not even big compared to waterfall cave. With how it was built up I was expecting something more confusing, or that couldn't be run through in less than a minute
Most of the caves in the game are disappointingly short, I wanted some real dungeon crawls. I think people are mostly huffing glue with their posts about how this game is worse than dd1 but this particular aspect does feel like a straight downgrade.
DD1 really didn't have much, but it had variety and strong aesthetics, and then BBI satisfied everyone who wanted depth too
It's like you can see hints at where they tried to care about that- a bit of dark souls shortcut design here, some pieces of buried ruins hinting at something deeper there, one room every now and again with actual architecture. But they just didn't follow through for whatever reason
DD1 had, off the top of my head
>watergod's altar
>catacombs
>mines
>goblin castle
>bluemoon tower
>soulflayer canyon
And maybe one or two more I'm forgetting.
Not all of these were great but they were all more mechanically and aesthetically distinct than anything I can think of in DD2. There's a reason the expansion was a frickhuge megadungeon, people saw the promise of the base game's dungeon design and wanted more of it. I'm honestly kind of shocked that this wasn't a bigger focus in 2, I would've gladly taken cuts to the size of the overworld if it meant shit like Seafloor Shrine could be a big, expansive dungeon crawl.
The game is a lot of fun if you're just exploring. Already found the sphinx despite just getting started with the main quest.
>mystic spearhand from the DDO made it into the game
>but its more badass and now has TWO blades
>Alchemist didnt fricking make it in
Damn I wanted to punch shit to death.
Spirit Lancer and Mystic Spearhand is like charisma vs. harassment
I've kind of lost my motivation to progress the story after reading the endgame has a timer. I'll just take it slow and pray someone mods that out soon.
Time becomes convoluted in the postgame and only advances if you rest. You get about two days between each zone getting nuked. Just rush to evacuate the settlements on the border of the map first and try to beat all the summons because I'm pretty sure killing them all stops the timer for good.
> I'm pretty sure killing them all stops the timer for good.
If that's true I'm more than cool with the whole thing but I've heard conflicting reports on that
It does work, but since you can't rest you have to heal using wakestones.
What's the reason to stay in the postgame?
>stay in the postgame
Um, well... I uh... you can't stay in the postgame
You have to use talos after you've shut all the dragon lasers, this stops the red clouds indefinitely
Really? So you can rest and the bosses respawn?
If you mean chimeras and ogres ye
I haven't seen a drake respawn yet
GAMERS ARE MAD
Do you still get more exp if you take less pawns with you or go solo like in the first game?
Bout to start Warfarer do I need to max the other vocations I'm using for their skills or do I just unlock em again.
At least this class allows me to be Ow the Edge or Unoriginal Darkness man.
where the frick did you get the fruit wine you frick
I don't fully remember where I got the fruit wine but you can easily get 3 newt liqueurs.
Hell I had 2 wines way before i even met him.
One is in the shack where you get mystic archer, another is in the research lab and the last one a guy is sorta at the entrance of the palace named earland selling one for 2k
poasting PS5 cat for elvish mingling and great gamble receiving
cute cat
danke
After 65 hours I finally found a pawn that gave me the coof.
At this point it almost sounded like a hoax from my game play because I just never saw it from the pawns I got.
can you save gregor from the dulahan
he just as our fight was starting lmao
Gregor fricking walked into water in my game. moronic ass deserved to die.
as i was reaching the fight the dulahan grabbed him and did some move where he instantly died before i even joined the fight so i thought it was scripted
>get to batahl
>place seems awesome, tons of fighting
>they hype up a palace and a secret laboratory
>tight
>story makes me talk to 2 people and I immediately leave back to melve
Uh, what? Did I miss something? I never went anywhere...
Nope, game's just rushed and unfinished at that point
Itsuno's true vision btw
Are you just shitposting or is there really no quests involving the palace or laboratory? Can I at least go in them and explore?
He's shit posting they're main story quests but trend carefully or apparently you'll finish the game before you know it.
I was running around there and right when I decided to start doing quests again I read most people just suddenly finished the game there so I went back to doing random shit.
I genuinely don't understand how you're supposed to fight Drakes as a Warrior
Whenever it gets to low health it just starts flying, spamming spells or that bullshit roar and I literally can't attack because my charge up/recovery times are so slow by the time my animation ends there's already a lightning bolt or a meteor flying straight at me
It's such an insane jump in difficulty compared to everything else
If it starts flying, you failed the dps check. It leaves shortly after.
No it doesn't. Some are scripted to fly away, some stay and fight til they die. The one I was fighting just stayed in the air and flinged spells at me while I couldn't do anything
>go face the dragon
>mfw i find out my beloved is sigurd
fug forgot about the beloved mechanic. oh well into the brine he goes
>GOD TIER
Thief
magic archer
>High tier
Warrior
Mage
Mystic Spearhead
>Mid tier
Wayfarer
Sorcerer
>Low tier
Archer
Fighter
>Shit tier
Trickster
Warrior is the weakest Vocation in the game. Archer and Sorcerer are two of the strongest.
Your list is so fricking wrong it's funny.
Why do I do shit damage as Archer? Even hitting weakpoints barely does anything to most bosses. Rattlers are so fricking tanky as well
I have Savage Fang with 1 upgrade. Level 31.
Mage pawn gives me a fire enchant and I spitroast everything in sight. Mix in that one strong shot with gattling arrows and regular shots. +2 bow doing a lot of work.
Get to the capital
Do one quest for captain gigahomie
Return to melve
Done, you can be darth maul now
Explosive arrow. Saurians are the one enemy type Archers aren't good against because you need slashing damage to sever their tail.
>Fighter as low as Archer
fricking filtered
>fighter
>low
How the frick do I get maelstrom from Myrddin if I already have meteoron? This butthole denied to teach me it
maelstrom is from the mage maister's granddaughter, you have to do the mage maister quest, and i hope you gave myrddin forged grimoires cause if you gave him the real ones you can't complete that quest
I'm on NG+ and got Meteoron from Trysha on my first playthrough, I'm just trying to get the last achievement I need
that's weird because i got the opposite, myrrdin gave me meteoron and trysha gave me maelstrom
I'm just gonna reload a save backup and go back to Trysha, see if she'll pass me maelstrom since it seems to vary
>always want to make a katia in games with cat people
>art style is always completely incompatible
sad
katia is too cute, she doesn't translate properly to 3D
her proportions are going to look fricked no matter what
i love how most of sorcerer's spells are worse than frigor and levin. all i'm using this stupid class for is flare and maelstrom
I swear all the modern graphics improvements don't mean shit when clothes physics are still so bad. Clipping everywhere.
>cape clipping was bad in DDDA
>there was a mod to shorten capes to help it a bit
>DD2 cape clipping is roughly 50,000x worse and you probably can't fix it
thanks itsuno
glad to see that guy's frankenstein pawn still getting work, he was one of the best from all the pre release character threads
>go into NG+
>meet the Dragonforged as part of the main quest
>realize there are more options now on top of exchanging wyrmslife crystals to buy dragon weapons or dragonforge gear
>you can buy a temporary boost (1 day) to discipline points or xp and 2 other things I forgot
>you can spend 20 WC to improve the stats gained on lvl up for one vocation
>you can spend 20 WC to reduce the stamina consumption of one skill, for each vocation
why didn't I see anyone mention it yet?
It's really weird how the game's set up for this massive grind but NG+ is just a straight copy of the original game, all the enemies are the same level but now you're level 34 so you just mulch everything. Are you supposed to keep looping through the game clearing it faster each time?
Not only are you high level but all the wandering pawns are too. They kill every big monster by themselves, ng+ was seriously not planned out
I legit think there is something hidden people haven’t found because that’s the only realistic explanation
DD1 was the same, they only even added hard mode in the DLC
you'd think they'd have learned but only if you aren't familiar with japanese game design
It's been my biggest gripe with every Jap game in recent memory that wasn't made by From. DD2, Unicorn Overlord, FFXVI were all the same - the gameplay is fun, give me something that forces me to play at my best.
Have you considered that people aren't rushing the game or aren't in NG+ yet? You have to be extremely underage to have the energy to play for 10 hours a day even if you're a NEET.
Anyone who says fast travel ruined games should be forced to play DD. Holy fricking mind numbing backtracking batman.
If you used fast travel in any game, you actually didn't beat that game
Spending half an hour trekking from one end of the map to the other fighting the occasional goblin and harpy is not fun. And when a game has fast travel, the autists who prefer to travel through the same locations for the umpteenth time can choose to do that. But in the reverse case, where there is no fast travel or it is severely limited, everyone is forced to waste time.
Cool. Can you namegay so I can filter your posts? This is getting boring.
>just didn't know about it
You get a fricking massive warning that covers the center of the screen the first time it happens. "Didn't know about it" just means fricking moron.
I meant "didn't know about what it does". Because honestly, if not for the internet spoiling me I probably would have kept an AIDS pawn on purpose just to see what it does. And I probably would be extremely disappointed in the result.
Filtered
I already beat the game once, and I think it is a good game when you actually get to play the meat of it. That doesn't mean I am blind to how absolutely unnecessary most of the trekking the game forces upon you is.
And I am not talking about exploring, mind you. That is completely legit. What I am talking about is having to make these arduous trips between locations that you have already visited many times before, or scrambling head over heels for unnecessarily rare and expensive fast travel tokens to travel to the ones that do have fast travel access.
It's just making playing the game a chore because you often have to visit places you've been to again and trekking there will offer you exactly nothing new or exciting, so it is quite literally just a waste of your time.
Are you hoarding your ferrystones? With ox carts and decent portcrystal placement. I almost never need to backtrack. The only area I ever walked to multiple times was Harve Village.
>Are you hoarding your ferrystones?
Hardly. It's just that there seems to be very few of the things on sale or to be found naturally, so every use of one seems like a humongous expenditure.
>literally no signs of dragonrot
>elf city nuked
this is getting pretty stupid, it's like every other fricking pawn has it now
morons are sending grabbed pawns back to the rift filled with AIDS instead of feeding them to the brine
Wait, do non hired pawns wandering around kill stuff too
is that the tell? that they are constantly attacking the rabbits? because i got zero voice lines and every time i checked the eyes i couldn't see red
so can i effectively dodge dragonrot if i just never sleep in cities?
camping gives you buffs anyway from cooking so i almost never used inns as-is
Campfires don't make a "last inn" save
Just brine your pawns every few days if you're that scared
Besides the stone that you can use to wake an entire town how else are you suppose to deal with this mechanic? Can it only happened once? Do you just slowly wake back up the npcs that are related to the main story iwth any wake stones you get? They clearly made this mechanic with a reason I'm just curious what the outcome is but all I can see is the paranoia from other players.
Then again I'm close to beating the game and I just got the notification about someones pawn I just hired and their eyes were red but I don't know if people meant the colored of their pupils or red glowing. I hired 10+ pawns with red color eyes before and now I just got the tool tip.
>how else are you suppose to deal with this mechanic
Brine. In any other game killing your party members and then resummoning them would be the meta-gaming solution, but not in ITSUNO'S VISION.
>Can it only happened once?
No
>Do you just slowly wake back up the npcs that are related to the main story iwth any wake stones you get
If you want to. I think you can beat the game even with "story relevant" npcs dead
>They clearly made this mechanic with a reason
The reason is to have a gotcha moment for people who weren't paying attention or just didn't know about it. Once you know what it is, it kind of just becomes a non-mechanic
Interesting well I do really only care about the combat of Dogma, one was fun but i remember eventually I got tired of backtracking quickly. I find myself enjoying the back tracking here for as I felt like there are a lot more shortcuts or direct paths. I guess an entire dead town would just mean I can't go there for selling or upgrades.
The story is whatever to me and I cant even find ulrika anymore after she gave me that cutscene and came to my house just to escort her home. I have a feeling I'm gonna get a man this time if I don't find her.
anyone else feeling like this game was a step back in every facet aside from leveling/vocations? The fact the actual fricking dragon doesn't show up until the last second was such a letdown as compared to the first where he essentially follows you and has multiple interactions. And none of the secondary antagonists compare to salvation.
yes it's unfinished unpolished to a staggering degree they just needed it out for the fiscal qt
pretty fricking sad
>he essentially follows you
he shows up at the beginning of the game to steal your heart then again to squash the upjumped zealot, then you go to his cave and have sex with him until he dies
did you even play the game? moron
anyone else found the pawn named anna? muh dick
>people thinking you need SphinxFather/SphinxMother made by Capcom
Yesterday I hired a SphinxMother pawn from a player called MisterSisterListerFister or whatever and Sphinx easily accepted that as the correct answer. I am almost sure that the game simply masks the Pawn name with a name that's quest-related. Ain't nobody has time to start a new game and make a new pawn with special name and level it up to lvl 40.
Is it possible to get a house in Battahl and the Elf town?
Battahl has 2, Elf village is fricking tiny so I don't think it has any
I just took down the giant statue, what's the point of no return? I feel like there's a ton of stuff I haven't done yet like the Sphinx everyone is talking about.
the point of no return is going to the top of Moonglint tower
the next quest is the last main quest unless you go post game
>don't play for a few days
>never got info about dragonrot
>switch pawn to warrior
>fight a griffin
>pawn chatter getting wienery
>"save your help for someone who needs it"
>ruh roh
>pick her up near the water
>"Arisen, have you taken leave of your senses!?"
>Have the Brine eat her rotussy for giving me lip
>Revive her as calm and collected as I remember her
Was weird hearing different lines from her. Obvious, but concerning.
>tell pawn to help me
>"erm you don't need to tell me what to do every time you know"
>mfw
frick me i forgot this was a thing before telling his wife
Some anon mentioned reviving him post battle, and it still giving the quest failed ending. Dunno if bug or frickup else.
When he died in my game his corpse never showed up, pretty sure it's a bug if a corpse shows up for a quest death.
If the game was actually good this would be accounted for. For me the quest stated that I saved him but it still failed me since he ended up dying by himself at some point. What's the point with even having a revive system when it's not used for exactly these cases?
>What's the point with even having a revive system when it's not used for exactly these cases?
It's their answer to Bethesda's essential npc spam
>Do the quest with the border kid
>He gets thrown off from the cliff somehow so can't do this
>Quest to escort some short old dude to a healing hotspring because his back hurts.
>Get ambushed a bunch along the way, my pawns are knocked out and I'm getting smacked around a bit.
>Beat the enemies, find out the dude died.
>Use a wakestone to revive him.
>Let's just...not mention this to his wife, who thought it would be a bad idea to go on this trip.
>His wife is sleeping in the same room with their servant catman, instead of sleeping by herself in their bedroom
I tried to cuck him by giving his wife a bunch of flowers for max affinity. When I entered the house at night to look for her, I found her in the servant bedroom, sleeping with the beastren. They both are sleeping in separate beds, but she is definitely spending her nights with the servant beastren while her husband is back at the fort.
>play through the game slowly, doing all the side quests i come across, filling in all the map
>credits roll after only 25 hours
sorry... what?
I didn't even make it to the desert until 30 hours in and I skipped a couple side quests and didn't bother filling in a few chunks of the map
Mayhaps you have told a fib sir
I was at 40 hours before hitting desert and I still apparently missed some stuff in Vermund like the dullahan people are mentioning.
If you don't explore at night Dullahans are gonna be impossible to find, don't be afraid of the dark anon
>70 hours
>haven't even met the queen b***h yet
Almost no idling too, just exploremaxxing.
People are way too comfortable blatantly lying on this website
The game knew you're a lying c**t so it ended itself early.
>bandit kid in prison
>pay the guard to free him
>Tells me to wait
>come back
>Actually need a lil more money
>whatever
>3 days later and he's still like HOLD ON A BIT BRUV
Did I get scammed or does this genuinely take forever
It's bugged I think. I waited for like two weeks and nothing happened.
Talk to the coral snake in the prison and do the princess assassination quest
>warrior pawns whiff 60% of the time
>thieves ALAHU ACKBAR and kill themselves
>fighter pawns taunt and block well but do literally 0 damage
>mage/sorc/archer pawns play at maximum efficiency
>thieves ALAHU ACKBAR and kill themselves
WHOA I GOT THIS !!!!MEISTER!!!!! SKILL??? IT'S GOT TO BE GOOD! IT SAYS MEISTER, AFTER ALL!
As much as i hate some aspects of the game, it really is good at making gamers for the morons they are.
Well, I guess the joke's on you because the move is disgustingly game-breakingly overpowered, pawns are just morons and don't turn on auto-dodge first
>know pawns are morons and don't auto-dodge
>put it on them anyway
Like I said...
Anon, I get that you're trying to make a "Gotcha" post but you're missing the point
Obviously if someone is pointing out the pawn flaw they're aware of the flaw's existence and thus do not use it anymore
it's good when the player uses it. for some reason, pawns are too moronic to formless feint before using it
Even the non-joke mastery skills are mostly trash
Warrior pawns that have non moronic Arisen and are properly built are goated when you're fighting medium sized enemies, constant agrro and knockback
Bandits do the spin2win and out DPS every single thing in the game
Fighters do suck though
Archer also does very little damage unless they repeatedly snipe vitals which is a coinflip and also dependent on the pawn's medal progress for the enemy.
Fighter/Mage/Sorcerer is the best pawn combo, because the Fighter can just taunt and tank everything while Mage and Sorcerer nuke everything. If you then pick Thief on your Arisen you will kill Dragons in a couple of seconds.
So are the elves straight up optional to the plot?
I worry that I'm almost at the end of the story with the undersea palace thing that just came out of the water and I've never actually officially gone to their city.
I don't think anything actually happens there, it's like 3 little buildings and not much else.
They are only relevant for 1 side mission. You're there for maybe an hour or two and that's it.
Yes, everyone is. The only one who matters in the Arisen.
It's there because there was a hidden magical elf village in berserk that they had to steal somewhere and couldn't figure out how to tie it to the plot
They should've made it more like Berserk with religious fanatics, demon worshippers and rampant gore and nudity. Dragon's Dogma 2 feels very sanitized for a dark fantasy game.
Yeah, it's definitely holding back
>still have found 0 of the 5 books for that sorc quest and I'm a pretty big exploring kinda guy
>no pawn I ever see knows what to do with the quest
jesus did NO ONE do this shit?
I'm a slightly big exploration guy, and I found 3 of them before even knowing about the quest
I did and I recomend that you hold on them before giving any and make forgeries of each one you pick since you can lock your self of getting one because the only source seems to be one woman who want ot exchange one book of another with you and she will accept a forgery, just like everyone else in this quest
that's an alternative, and dumb, way to get a book waterfall cave has that one and another one
I don't wiki so if it's some obscure shit it's not gonna be completed.
The quest details give you hints on where to find each book
>Find out that you can use Blades of the Pyre without catching flame if you are drenched while you use it
Is there a way to reliably get drenched?
anon, just use formless before using it, you're heavily overthinking it.
>my pawn is a pretty generic old man mage, super short with a HUGE gamer gunch
>no meme name
>calm but kind of high pitched funny voice, A SOUND PLAN ARISEN!
>every time I sleep he is constantly reporting adventures with other players
>one person especially has rented him out over and over
>kept giving me pretty sweet gifts
>last time he returned he gave ETERNAL WAKESTONE (not the fake one)
>Mfw my fictional generic npc slave has a better sex life than me
>Beat the game and never encountered dragon plague even once.
Did I miss something?
if you don't fight many dragons (or totally shit on them) and don't swap pawns often you can easily miss it.
is this better or worst than the first game
It's gooderer
if you had to rec one over the other which would you rec personally?
at the moment 1, might as well build up hype, pick up 2 when the price is lower and a potential expansion comes later with FPS fixes.
thanks for the heads up I haven't beaten DD1:DA yet, and have an assassin build going. Will finish the rest of my playthrough. Didn't know if I should make the switch, but based on what I am hearing, and seeing DD2 needs a DA edition before buying.
1 will be impossible to play if you start with 2 unless you have a high tolerance for old school jank.
damn 2 sounds nice gameplay wise. i am looking forward to the fixes, and expansions they add to the game.
2 is better imo but 1 is still a fun game.
thank you for the input fren 🙂 glad you are having fun with the game
Atm 1 since you can get it for like 5 bucks . 2 is really good, but 1 does things like set pieces and some vocations better. And probably by the time you finish 1 and BBI they will patch up the performance and add an expac for 2 as well.
If you have to pick one game right now without context, I'd start with DDDA, but it has issues itself. DD2 still has potential to be fantastic if it gets some updates.
Better in everything except post-game
Yes
the first one feels more complete (which is sad considering a common critique of DD1 is how much it felt rushed at the time)
DD2 has better combat in certain ways (actually getting to hotkey potions, don't have to constantly pause combat to look at menus) but worse in other ways (some classes toned down for no reason, other classes feel unfinished, less skill slots)
DD1 has better post game, but DD2 has much better exploration
There isn't a single Vocation I'd consider "better" in DD1 except perhaps Sorcerer
>Other vocations get such cool shit
>The new magic vocations are insane
>Even mages get some fun new toys
>I wonder what sorc gets?
>You can DBZ ki charge to recover stamina
>There's a skill that lets you save a spell cast for later
>Instead of a big ice spike that can leave a helpful platform, the big ice spell leaves blocks you can throw
>Also they removed like half the spells
>Frick you
I would argue it's better than base DD1 but not Dark Arisen. The potential is there, but it needs some updates.
It's better as a whole but the story is MUCH worse, there is less vocation action variety and the endgame while cool is worse than everfall. The game also lacks something akin to BBI from DA which feels really fricking bad since once you get the best gear the game stops feeling like an adventure and start feeling like a chore to play since nothing can touch you anymore unless you rush endgame
Vocation action variety is a meme. Almost every Vocation in 1 just used 1-2 moves.
Better in a lot of ways, sidegrade for some, some things are worse. Biggest upgrade DD2 needs besides performance shit is more enemy variety and harder difficulty. I wouldn't mind smaller pack density, but each pack is a bigger deal. Quite annoyed that I walk 10 feet and have another blitz fight while exploring.
I swear only some of the packs are supposed to be spawned at once or something. It feels like they intended it to have some variety but just forgot to make the spawns cycle, it's just like DD1 where you find the same enemies in the same places every time, there's just 3x as many of them. If only 1/3 of them were active at a time randomly it would feel a lot more natural, sometimes there would be bandits in a ruin, sometimes it would be empty but there'd be goblins in the bushes next to it etc. Right now it's just saurians then bandits then goblins then more bandits then harpies then saurians again
Could be true. The placement is so ridiculously close in some cases that you have several different groups barely outside of aggro range, but patiently waiting for you to chase a gobbo a bit too close to them. Maybe some enemy infighting was turned off?
Overall better and it's better in the most important way you could think of. That being the comfy adventure vibes.
I think I managed to bungle every single side quest in bakbattahl
exploring that area is 10/10 but the quests there absolutely blow ass
>fricking poisoning yourself
>the griffon shit asking you to pre-fight an enemy you've never seen before at that point
>randomly getting jumped to do a 1v1 which is normally piss easy but seems to always happens to players who just changed jobs
that awful bandit kid chain
>randomly getting jumped to do a 1v1 which is normally piss easy but seems to always happens to players who just changed jobs
My NG+ playthrough this happened as soon as I switched to Trickster.
There should be a flag for this quest to just not trigger if you're Trickster. Only way to beat is to chug strength buffs and go unarmed, total bs.
*laughs in grimoire*
Even with grimoires, the damage was too low and I didn't have enough of them.
that was my very first fight after switching to thief and I only had the starter daggers on me
I ended up pinning him down and stabbing him 50 times, it was brutal
getting jumped to do a 1v1
I had 10% hp from loss gauge lmao
halp
you can use a pawn to shove another pawn through the gate if you angle them just right
But there's only like a 1% chance they'll actually break the bar successfully for you, most of the time they just teleport back over when they try
I summon low level pawns and gift good weapons that aren't too OP.
Hey In my story the fricking undersea palace just came from the ocean
How close am I to the end? I feel like I'm not close at all since I haven't really resolved anything or confronted anyone but anons keep warning me that this shit ends abruptly.
Why would you want to spoil that for yourself wtf? Do you just pay for movie ticket and ask the mother fricker next to you if the movies about to be over?
You're pretty close. After you get through the palace, there's one more monster-hunting quest before the endgame kicks into full gear. That said, there's some cool shit to do on Agamen Volcanic Island if you don't feel like ending the story immediately.
am I getting filtered or mystic spear is pure trash?
you exist to spam a 5 second team invuln, over and over
it's absolutely overpowered because of that, but nothing else about it is very impressive
It needs Vocation levels. It's pure garbage when you get it initially.
It's shit until you get a bunch of skills and core skills, then it becomes insanely overpowered
Deals no damage, but you get a broken invuln shield for your party.
It's also amazing at exploring, because the charge attack allows you climb mountains (just spam it up slideable slopes) and cross some gaps that you'd usually have to summon a harpy for.
It has a pretty strong fun factor and cool unique armor but thats it, everything it does is done better by other vocations
What other vocation has spammable full party invincibility?
it's fine, you need to use the finisher attacks to deal damage, mashing square and random skills don't do much. Charge the stun thing constantly and use teleports to keep literally on top of the enemy when possible
Is there a way to cancel end frames for warrior or is it just a shit class? Even the shoulder tackle has like 5 hours of end lag. Nor can you jump cancel anymore.
Odds they patch in more skills/augments?
high people are complaining about so many things it seems. i'd be genuinely surprised if it's not DD 2.1+
0%.
Anything extra will be added in as overpriced DLC.
Pretty low, all classes have pretty good skill variety outside of sorcgays crying.
Trickster may just need a remake entirely but the game isn't hard enough to justify the effort
Trickster is hilarious because with like 2 exceptions its skills are all either niche jokes or extensions to your core skills, and its augments make it seem like it's not even meant to be used in a combat scenario at all
I know they wanted to go hard on the illusionist thing, but there's no reason you couldn't use like, craftable poisoned incenses, the same way archers have special arrows
Also you'd think there'd be more buffs/debuffs, or at least some way to build knockdown
It's so dumb there's no poison trail skill or something. Running around like your Singed as enemies get poisoned to death chasing you would have been funny.
Yeah, it was stupid to make it have literally zero damage potential.
Its damage potential is that you can get enemies to attack each other if you can avoid getting hit long enough to set it up- but playing with AI like that is tedious, and that obviously stops working outside of groups
Zero. Not needed. Maybe Sorc could get Exequey back.
Easily moddable
Anyone know what you get for the Lennart escort? He took a dive in the brine and I'm not sure if it is worth it to revive him I did Ulrika escort and got ONE bunch of flowers but in DDDA some of the personal escorts had decent rewards.
All the escorts are trash and will give you 1x bunch of flowers or similar.
Sometimes you get some of the rarer materials like black crystal, but you'll eventually swim in those too.
As far as I can tell, escorts are primarily for raising affinity, and then the character you escorted will occasionally send items to your house afterwards.
I will skip it then. The escorts are honestly extra annoying with the constsnt enemy spam.
Finally done for now
For anyone else who gave all the books to Trysha first and learned meteoron then was later denied Myrddin's teachings, equip the ring that Trysha gives you then go talk to Myrddin. I was moronic and wasn't paying attention to the fact that his quest had updated
>archer waifu blushes when she looks at me now
>Accidentally grab her
>you princess carry people you're max affinity with
Bros...
can I still put my pawn in the bathtub and play with her/splash water on her if I'm running the DDO private server? or is that one of the many currently missing features?
Is there a trick to getting a clean Medusa head? I can solo the thing and 100-0 the thing with just climbing headshots and it feels completely random whether it pops at all before it dies
I'm using thief and using decent weapons - should I be using worse gear, or swapping to something more one-hit oriented like warrior?
I've been able to consistently get it with Warrior whacking her until she falls over, then cutting off her head.
>Is there a trick to getting a clean Medusa head?
Climb behind her while she is using poo ray and whack is head.
>DD1 was considered rushed, tons of wasted potential
>DD2 was considered rushed, tons of wasted potential
:[
So the encouraged romance options really are
>prostitutehouse lady
>archer wife
And that's it?
They're the only ones that get cutscenes I think. Not even the elf does.
>Elf
Whomst?
It's so genuinely strange to me that the main story NEVER visits this place, ever.
It does in the postgame, and that part becoems easier if you've done their sidequests.
>Archer waifu has bigger breasts AND a cuter face
this shit was so one-sided
Imagine making a literal queen of all prostitutes and making her flat
They were trying so hard with her, and she just sucks
No soul
>He doesn't enjoy delicious flat
Listen reggie, if you're literally QUEEN OF THE prostituteS I expect some royalty level titmeat, it's part of the trope. Not hating on dickygods.
My wife
Those are the only romance options with cutscenes, albeit very barebones there too.
You can romance anyone in the game, but all it does is them blushing and following you around until a fight breaks out in your home.
The entire system is just as lackluster as the random NPCs themselves. They're an absolute waste on CPU cycles.
Do people not believe in THICC anymore? I've been trying to find a coomer pawn to replace my elf bawd since whoever made her quit since she's stuck low level and I can't find shit
Yes there's tons of female pawns wearing the bawd mage outfit or the hunter thigh-high leggings, but they're fricking SCRAWNY, where's the MEAT? Where's the MILK?
>start in capital
>go out in random direction
>keep going and seeing what kind of shit I can run into letting my whims and curiosity take me
>when sufficiently explored out either use ferrystone or hop on an ox cart and make my way back to the capital
This has been how the last 20 hours of my gameplay have been and it's not getting old. I'm having too much fun. This game is too comfy.
That's genuinely the best way to play the game, the main story is short and ends very abruptly, so just explore until it finally gets old then fly through the actual plot
I'm having fun, too. I took a direction because I needed medal and my pawn showed me ore locations on map.
My aughtism demands systemicality so I'll probably go explore the road to Melve next, as I already explored south-east.
Why is the cold damage type so ass when they removed holy?
There's holy
Bros...
My pawn said something kinda passive aggressive...
>"Must we run everywhere? You are an impatient one Arisen"
>brine
What the frick was that enemy enemy density on the road to the desert capital?
>go to elf village
>my elf pawn isn't translating
What the frick, are some elves just moronic bawds who don't speak their mother language?
They need to have the woodsman translator trait or something
Your "elf pawn" is just a human with an ear defect.
it's not an elf, it's a pawn
Made it to the capital city in Battahl but I'm kinda burnt out after 40 hours bros...I don't know if I can make it to the end.
Switching up vocations doesn't really help since I
>'ate daggers
>'ate magic
>'ate bows
Already maxed fighter and warrior and the story is so fricking abysmal it's not doing the work to drag me to the end.
HELP
if you're at batahl you can wrap up the game in just a few hours, wojakmoron.
If you're bored just end it.
Hmmm alright, few hours doesn't seem that bad. What's the post endgame look like in this? any incentives aside from weapons and armor from the dragonsforge schizo.
the post game is actually nutty, don't think you should spoil it
wtf why have I never seen anyone talk of this cool post endgame
Post game is interesting, ng+ is not since you and every world pawn will be way overleveled
Seriously why does NG+ not scale enemies up to expected end game levels so you can just keep going with the same difficulty? Just slap like 60 levels on everything. That's literally all they needed to do.
It does scale but not enough to take much notice. Cyclops will be armored, strong goblins will be in verm
hello
when do i get darth maul guy
thank you
Leave Melve via oxcart, quest for a day or two and return to Melve.
i did
but on returning with the oxcart nothing happened
my main story currently is to meet the guy at night in the inn
Do Captain Gigahomies quests until he suggests returning to Melve.
okay
will do
thank you
love you
I'm pretty sure you have to speak with black dude at the inn and do at least one quest for him. Then he'll suggest returning to Melve
What is the best element affinity in DD2 for general purpose?
Ice
>tfw waiting at the gate to Battrahl so I can hop the border
Don't every npc will be hostile towards you
I know.
I just run far enough that they're no longer hostile.
But you need to interact with them for the main story anon
I just walk back
How do I even obtain legal entry to furry land? I don't want to keep using ferrystones or going through the alternate path.
Either get a fursuit or do the main quest
Wait what, the furry mask helps? My arisen is a furryfrick, why do I need a fricking mask??
Fur mask still had people chase after me
How does pawn quests work? If I set a pawn quest and one player completes it, do I need to set the quest again or can multiple people claim the rewards?
Check the status tab to see if the quest is still active
What's the purpose of physical stats on a sorceror's staff?
>hopped the border once early in the game
>came back 30 hours later with a pass, no one seems to mind
>after three or four trips back and forth one random guard recognizes me and attacks
>gets obliterated by my pawns before I can react
>no one else seems to notice, gate guard waves me through like normal
this game is funny
What happens if you don't defeat the Giant Colossus?
>nobody is borrowing my pawn
How do I make a pawn people want to borrow? I want to get the badges for different monsters.
Make it useful and incite people with the pawn quest
>literal p2w
kek
How do I train my pawn to be more useful? I've got a 5000 gold reward for defeating a cyclops and nobody is biting.
What class is your pawn?
Fighter
Use skills to help and CC monsters
Go full DPS with Explosive Arrow
Dress bawdtier
Dress more bawdtier
Sorry your mom isn't here
>Dress bawdtier
nobody hires bawd pawns besides Gankerner
You would be surprised how obtuse is the DD community
>Search most popular/liked pawns
>They are all e-girls and bawds
You are full of shit anon
>pedoshit
Oh frick off
?
Archer.
c**t
c**ts hunt in packs, Arisen.
Hotwife
REEEEEEtard
>defeat oger
>reward: 10k gold
there
I did that and still nobody is hiring.
I send my pawn out with money as reward for killing Cyclops and Ogre, and have had a lot of picks. Started with 3k, upped to 4.5k. Pawns been a Thief, Fighter and now Warrior. Not even using any bawdwear, but I think I want something sexier than chainmail.
page 9
ded
Hired a mage pawn based on having a good quest reward. Never checked if it had a weapon. Beat Dullahan with this moron fistfighting and being useless. At least I had a reason to use my consumables, but lessons learned I guess.
>all these healers with offensive spells
Flagration fricking sucks but Levin and/or Frigor are good enough to be worth carrying, it's not like you really need more than one or two enchantments and Anodyne which is a core skill so you can easily fit an attack or two alongside celerity or empyrean or whatever
>Elemental Affinity, High Celerity/Empyrean, High Palladium, High Halidom
No, offensive spells in mage is no.
