Looks bad like the Super Mario RPG Remake. It's too clean and basic. For me it's thr dumb portraits at the bottom whenever pawns talk. That shit is dumb, pawns never shut up and I don't want to see them take up the bottom of my screen 24/7.
The only thing I don't really like about it is the new HP and Stamina bars, a bit too thin. Would be kinda nice if more games had more customizable UI though.
The HUD is intentionally minimalistic but not in the usual painfully generic way (also HP in the middle is appreciated), and the map screen is maximum oversoul.
The rest of it I agree kinda sucks.

Very likely some MK skills will be given to Fighter, they overlap too much also with their counter focused gameplan.
The new vocation has little to no overlap this time though. Archer uses bow, Thief uses dual daggers, Magick Archer uses magick bow.
Yeah, it's a lot more specialized this time around. There's a loud minority that hates the dagger/bow split, but playing Ranger in DDDA made me wish I only had a longbow for more ranged skills. Only ever used Instant Reset in daggers.

Why would they make an "entire moveset" for random city guards? They only need a couple of attack animations and a single weapon model. Meanwhile a whole ass vocation would require at least a dozen different weapon models and many different skills.

I don't really mourn the loss of assassin and ranger, it is practically the same as strider with a few different skills. Mystic knight stings a little, because despite being mostly based on figher, it does have its own unique playstyle.
From what I've seen so far, there seems to be a greater emphasis to have each vocation be completely unique. If that comes with the cost of not overinflating the amount of vocations for the sake of it, then I think I can live with that.

you see that right now the line of magic vocations is kinda blur since both mage and magick archer has capability to play as either support or caster role. While archer is the only physic ranged vocation and then we have mystic spearhand. So it's safe to say that maybe we will get more ranged vocation and magic hybrid vocation

Im playing Dragon's Dogma 1, just got to Gran Soren and before that I met Selene. Is there nothing to do with her? I guess I just got 2 sidequests that involve her, also is there a way to travel a little faster or do I really have to make the walk all the way from Gran Soren in order to get to Selene again?
she gets a few board missions and then some actual side quests later. you can have her as a house e-girl even without romancing her. just visit her every once in awhile as you do the main quest stuff.
Speaking of e-girls I find it funny how I went to the Rift and all of the Pawns I found there where level 6-12 except for two Pawns that were level 87 and one hundred something, and both of them were e-girls.

So, have they removed running stamina consumption outside of combat yet?
I haven't seen anyone sprinting, but stamina recovers really fast now, so it's a non-issue even if they didn't.
No roll or dodge? No lock on? Can you run out side of combat eithout stamina running out? These three are deal breakers for me. Just couldnt get into the first beacuse of these. After coming from the souls series and elsen ring.

roll/dodge was in the first game, only for daggers though, the game has a soft lock-on, especialy if you play magick archer it has a bunch of lock-on skills. Basically if you play magick archer you'll have all those things you claim it didn't have in the first game.
