IGN has actual good coverage of DD2
whoever's leading it really cares about it
the interviews are good
the videos are DOGSHIT
>the videos are DOGSHIT

everytime I see a video of those morons playing DD I just want to rip my hair out
>"in-depth" character creator preview
>speed up video and put huge block quotes over it for half the runtime
That one IGN guy who gives heads ups on new IGN DD content says he's a fan of the original game.

>We've been careful to create a high fantasy world that looks and feels like you would imagine a real-life fantasy world.
>Walk into Tavern
>Steve Fricking Harvey.
it is indeed fantastical
Pretty huge stretch. Unless you just think any bald brownish guy with a moustache looks like him. In which case every time I see a hairy butthole I'll just tell everyone it's you.
Damn Steve, you shitpost on Ganker too?
frick you anon, can't unsee
Looks like an average romanian to me.
Had a good a laugh. Good one.
>Tristan
I feel like that town won't end well.
American doesn't know what a Turk looks like, news at 11
Why would you let turks into your tavern? Why would you let turks into your town?! The only place turks should be let into is a spike pit!
It has a kitchen, it's bound to get a few roaches.
>bulgarian joined the chat
Turks have great food bro I would let one be a cook in my inn
That guy looks more eastern euro than turk tbh
Split the difference, bosnian

MEET N' FRICK SOREN STEVE
are you autistic and/or american, anon? that looks absolutely nothing like steve harvey. if only you knew what the ugliest fricks in central europe looked like you'd quickly see that this is what they look like
that is an eastern euro if I've ever seen one
Meet n Frick Gran Soren, Steve!
>Bald
>Mustache
Is he even black? Mad as frick over Schrödinger’s melanin. How does someone come to be THIS mindbroken?
you're the one who brought up race homosexual
Unironically looks like some swarthy Balkan rapebaby. 10/10 medieval European fantasy immersion.
probably the least steve harvey looking darker-skinned bald man with a moustache you couldve posted
that's just a turk.
>astral projection
Neat.
Neat indeed.
Itsuno did this IRL so the team could get a good idea of it
>Itsuno had everyone in the team master the Gateway method to astral project
>Itsuno and his team are astral projecting into an astral plane version of the world to test things out
>They're pounding beastren pussy to make sure it's accurate in the game
I need a demo RIGHT NOW.
>So I took my team out on a trip to an african safari so they could experience first hand what lion pussy and wiener feel like
>"So, we really wanted to nail the 'tearing the pillars of the unjust heavens down' vibe in the sequel. The whole Seneschal sequence was really last minute, we wanted more of a secret final boss feel and always regretted that. Daimon's second phase promise to meet you goes nowhere."
>"Because of this, I and the core development team took it upon ourselves to go on a DMT fueled vision quest and have an astral battle with the Demiurge itself over the immortal souls of mankind itself across time and space at the real Crucible of Souls."
>"anyways, that went pretty well and you're technically all free from the cycle of infinite damnation & worship of a false idol, but beside that it really gave us the inspiration we needed to make the '10th dimensional biblically accurate angel battle on the Moon' sequence work."

So is there positive affinity too then?
Will I come back from an adventure to find the blacksmith chatting up my waifu?
I read that as "cheating on my waifu" and thought you were into double cuckery
Just in case
What's gonna be the plot twist this time I wonder.
>what do they ea-ACK!
whatever happened to that guy?
Starved to death
I always heard he went to prison but that sounds like a typical internet rumor
Last I saw of him was him doing articles for Twenty Sided Tale, then he took a hiatus in ~2020 never to be heard from again.
Ganker hates it but I love that kind of haze. If you've ever woken up early in the countryside with that kind of haze over the fields, it's just very comfy.
It can be nice if it captures specific weather conditions well, but I somehow doubt that a countryside dawn has a brownish-green haze over everything.
Play KCD if you haven't yet
JESUS CHRIST BE PRAISED
KCD2 fricking when?
It'll be announced in 2028, 10 years after release, like DD
But KCD was split up and supposed to be 2 or 3 parts in a kind of episodic style. It's not a game that was gimped because of hardware limitations.
Parts 1 and 2 got combined into the released KCD. Part 3 is probably supposed to be adapted into the third game, but we have no clue what's going on with it. It's possible it's embracer shenanigans.
>Part 3 is probably supposed to be adapted into the third game
I think you mean second game, but yeah.
>It's possible it's embracer shenanigans.
This scares the shit out of me because despite being a pretty high budget production, it's very clearly a labor of love (much like DD2) and the last thing I'd want to see is corporate meddling (like DD2).
Oh I'm not too worried about corporate meddling, iirc Vavra had some clause added that gives him a lot of control over the games even after they sold their studio, what I'm more worried about is the game just being cancelled because embracer is kind of imploding.
>iirc Vavra had some clause added that gives him a lot of control over the games even after they sold their studio
Really? That's great news.
>what I'm more worried about is the game just being cancelled because embracer is kind of imploding.
KCD sold 5 million units. I'm sure they could find another publisher or just crowdsource it to finish the game. Still, the less turmoil the less likely they are to scale back or frick up features. I just want some official word from them.
>I'm sure they could find another publisher or just crowdsource it to finish the game
Not if they don't have the IP
Don't tell me they sold the IP to Embracer.
Yes, but now Embracer wants KCD to be the medieval Cyberpunk in sales as they desperately need a massive hit, i wish i was joking.
>hey you know that kind of niche but still fairly high selling game that's unique that you made?
>we need it to sell Skyrim/CoD/Redshit numbers so water it down for normalgays
Please no. I'd genuinely rather a sequel not get made. Maybe this is the price we have to pay for DD2 to be made as a proper sequel to DD.
Oh silly anon of course not.
They sold the IP to a company that got sold to embracer.
I don't know how those contracts are written but I hope they'd be smart enough to have a clause that says if the parent media group can't afford to publish, then the studio can look for outside funds.
LOOK, HENRY HAS COME TO SEE US
>high fantasy
What is mid and low fantasy?
you forgor dark fantasy
game of thrones is low fantasy
witcher would be mid I suppose
witcher is high fantasy, you have all the token fantasy races, all the token fantasy monsters and magic is more common than it is in LOTR
a good rule of thumb is how common is magic in your world.
in a low fantasy setting magic is still very special and rare.
in high fantasy it's everywhere or close to it.
game of thrones = low fantasy
LORT = high fantasy
but magic isn't common in LOTR at all, in fact LOTR is like the original "le magic is dying" story. There's only like 5 wizards in all of LOTR and they're basically demi-gods.
>but magic isn't common in LOTR
anons , the main protagonist is literally a fantasy race....
there is magic everywhere in the lotr
>anons , the main protagonist is literally a fantasy race....
Tolkien makes a specific point about how hobbits aren't magical and are extremely traditional and ordinary in their own way, more so than humans even. In fact others hobbits make fun of Sam for believing in dragons and talking trees at the start, him and Frodo are often referred to as "queer" because hobbits dislike the weird and unfamiliar. Which make them the perfect reader self-insert since they are basically isolated from the rest of middle-earth
>how hobbits aren't magical and are extremely traditional and ordinary in their own way
but they are to US in the real world.
when you describe fantasy it's how fantastical something is to US not the people inhabiting the world.
>but they are to US in the real world.
>when you describe fantasy it's how fantastical something is to US not the people inhabiting the world.
Hardly, hobbits are basically the most ordinary everyday people in middle-earth, which is why the ring's influence on them is so weak, they're just happy blokes who enjoys eating and drinking, with no real care or understanding of the outside world. LOTR works specifically because you get to discover the extraordinary world alongside the hobbits, humans in LOTR are already well-established in the greater world of middle-earth which makes them more alien to the reader than hobbits
Everything to do with lotr elves may as well be magic even if it's not explicitly said so in the text. Consider the scene where frodo and sam are hiding from the haradrim before minas morgul under the cloaks they picked up from lothlorien. In the movie they make it look like a rock but in the book the cloaks are super stealthy and shit just cause elves are just that good at weaving and making clothes.
there's no real firm definition of high vs low, but I like fictional world vs "our" world
Fantasy is based around the world at large in regards of creatures that inhabit it.
Low fantasy takes place in our world eg. Harry Potter
Forget High, what about Top Fantasy?
New fishing village looked cool, but otherwise that was an underwhelming interview. IGN sucks with this trickle feed bullshit.
>"I ended up on-site in London at the recording with the voice actors and our story writer who made up a language and wrote it out phonetically, and the result is all thanks to the studying the voice actors did. We explained that it was elvish, and told them how to read it phonetically. We wrote lines entirely phonetically so that similar words would sound the same. When the voice actors heard that they would be speaking elvish, they suggested that it be pronounced like a Scandinavian language and fully researched the subject. They put on performances there that took phonetically spelled made-up words and turned them into something that sounds authentic. And it's not as though we recorded the full language. Our sound team managed to patch it together well to create a base for the whole language through their blood, sweat, and tears,” Itsuno explained.
nice
Tolkein would be proud.
all of that effort and the game is probably going to be shity for the exact same reason the first one was

>they kept the barmaid with big breasts
Red earth is an awesome game
>capcom admits asset flipping, sources say
Honestly, the only thing that bothers me about the Beastren are the ears. I wish they made it closer to the concept art of the first game/Leo from Red Earth.
Call it skill issue, but I don't find dd1 an easy game so far.
DD's difficulty curve is more like a cliff, if you play on hard the early game is savage, but once you get your class's later skills and some good gear the difficulty drops off really badly.
Yeah, many things in the game feel sluggish. Kinda disappointed by the story. Not as bad as bg3, but I did expect a little more. Worldbuilding is really not astonishing.
Without giving anything away, I would say the aspects about Dragon's Dogma's setting and worldbuilding that really make it shine and set it apart don't happen until the late game. Early on it feels like a very standard fare fantasy setting.
And then you get to BBI where a garm spawns in and knocks you up into the air instantly killing you.
I'm at max level with nearly maxed out equipment and there are still fights I find challenging.
Most people have problems with not doing enough damage, you probably need to go to a shop and get a better weapon, or upgrade the ones you and your pawn currently have.
What spells are confirmed? If there isn't a good low tier ice spell idk if I'm playing sorc again using frazil and frigor sucked dick
Frigor is now the basic ice spell. It's very versatile as it has a large area of effect, creates a stepping stone, and when the pillar disappears, it leaves behind throwable ice blocks. Sorcerers can cast the new "middle" tier ice spell, Hagol, which is basically an ice version of what Miasma is now. It inflicts frostbite and can be aimed anywhere in range (it doesn't travel along the ground like Frigor or Salamander).
This document is collecting all information gathered from the playable demos and new IGN footage.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/199pajGfarNd8sck9rO1P0uhQGkHyusy_VgtV0JPXpOQ/edit#gid=1899150522
Okay maybe frigor will be less ass if it's the starter spell and casts quicker.
Mages and sorcerer's vocation action is Quickspell, which speeds up casting speed by draining more stamina. Sorcerers can quickly recuperate it with Galvanize, allowing them to keep attacking.
So far we’ve seen frigor, some spell that creates a wave of ice, and a blizzard.
>tells you to jump of a skyscraper
Would you do it for Itsuno?
In a heartbeat.
>I really wanted my designers to understand the fear of being ambushed in the middle of the night, so I firebombed their house at 4am.
>"The idea of drowning is really scary, and to show that fear I would dress up as a goblin and try to hold there head underwater in a bucket I keep at the office while there coworkers try to stop me"
this is going to be the best game ever
>of course, in the world of Dragon's Dogma drowning is far from the worst that will happen to you if you fall in the water
>so I made sure to fill the bucket with piranhas
This honestly sounds way too good to be true. But even if these interactions don't work as well as they are supposed to it will still be funny.
Uhmm... Nice pair, Howard.
That's Todd's pretty kitty
>specialization: chirurgeon
Wtf
That just means that they can use curative items on the Arisen or other pawns, and not just on themselves, they can heal you with a Greenwarish, for example.
Finally we can make advanced healbawd pawns
>chirurgeon
she'll lick your wounds
https://letmegooglethat.com/?q=chirurgeon
Surgeon in old english, like "gaol" is just jail now. Since this takes the slot of the "languages" specialization it seems like more than just a healing trait. Why would you forgo an entire quest chain (the elves require you speak their language) just to be able to have the pawn heal you and not be a healer, I suspect it is something like being able to interact in certain events to do with helping the injured or flat out being able to revive them when they are downed, since npcs seem to be a big focus this time that would be very useful.
again with that souls UI. Its a red flag. It tells you exactly what to expect. Just remember the UI from the first game
what the hell are you talking about
now post the one from the new game
thats not the inventory and equipment menu
You mean like this?
I actually don't like it being so red and dark, but it's OK, I guess.
You didn't play the first game did you
You wot m8? This is how it looked in the original for comparison
is Dragon's Dogma 2 by CAPCOM (directed by Hideaki Itsuno) going to turn me into a furry?
Considering the beastren look kind of ugly I doubt it.

>Enigma is up
Ok homosexual.
They'd be smart to encourage modding, shit can extend the life of a singleplayer game tenfold. It would be hard to implement with the online elements though.
>DD
>lively modding community
The game has hardly any mods and most are useless too.
mods for DD1 are way, way harder to make compared to any RE Engine game, and even yet we got some cool stuff like the Berserk armor, many many years before relase.
I'm sure DD2 will have a nice modding community.
>I'm sure DD2 will have a nice modding community.
if you saw the state of the resident evil and dmc modding discords you would rethink this statement
>The game has hardly any mods and most are useless too.
Because it was a b***h and half to mod. Both for modders and mod enjoyers.
>no mention of it

Spearman what is your vocation
That's a spear...
That's a big spear.
Uh, you don't get to bring any pawns.
Ser Arisen? I'm Salvation.
>me and the boys
that is a pretty clever 4-U reference anon, well done
No shield
It's just a mystic spear vocation asset lazily reskinned for guards lmao
Frick I hope not
Uh huh
No way to tell until we see footage of that spear in use.
I don't think they'd do something that lazy though.
MS is arisen only 🙂
Mystic Spearhand was already confirmed to be a player-only vocation.
Mystic Knight was player-only but Julien carried a mace and shield from the class, that means nothing
12 vocations ez
all these little fricking sneak shots of the spearmen are foreshadowing a reveal just like the Tricksters' sneak shot making a smoke bridge in front of the cyclops across the ravine, I swear
they're too fricking long to seem like a rerig of the Duospear, for one. But pay attention to the Spearhand reveal renders. The male Beastren and the black haired dude in particular, compare the other second shot with the characters in the corners; you can only ever see the rear end of the male Beastren's weapon, but it's a Khopesh blade on the butt. Blackhair guy on the other hand has fore and aft ends visible on the same rendered pose, one in each shot, and both have bardiche blades.
Duospears have symmetrical ends and a staff like proportion. Guardsmen are walking around with one ended, full length polearms like short pikes or pole maces. I can only guess that, if spears aren't a throwaway weapon for NPCs after all, they're the advanced Green vocation, polevaulting around or some shit like Spirit Lancer minus the magic, maybe using the polearm to hook and control enemies back & forth, drag monsters down at arms' length. Too mundane to be green+red if you ask me, but it could be if advanced green is double swords or DDO Seeker wire-fu something.
THIS
THIS shot in the top right corner, that seals it for me as something entirely separate. The resting stance with the weapon drawn with the duospear-
>is loose and low in one hand, at side/behind, some staff-fu shit
with the long spear-
>rests on the shoulder in a similar fashion to Warrior, but not quite the same (shoulder rest looks less angled behind the neck, isn't positioning for a WWE intro walking swagger with the left arm)
I want mah frickin spear
>they added beastmen as playable characters
>enemies include even more monster girls
>devs have learned that turned base games are game people actually still want and play
Is it almost time for a real breath of fire 6?
BASED
SF6's world tour mode is full of BoF references so someone at Capcom still cares about it.
I sure hope anons here upgraded their pc's to play DD2 max settings.
>5800x
>3070
>16GB
probably not max settings, but I think (hope) that, as long as I play at 1440p and not max out the textures, I'll be fine.
>ryzen 5 3600
>rx5700
I think I can barely scrape by
No I just got a PS5 in December instead
>still on an rx 580
I'm not sure I'll even be able to run the game at all.
Unfortunately I'm also poor as shit so there's not much I can do about that right now.
>980ti
>17-7700k
>16gb
There's still a 50/50 shot I upgrade.
I got a 4060 but it went down to 7 FPS playing elden ring against Godrick, so now I'm depressed.
What kind of potato did you cram that GPU into?
In theory my PC shouldn't be an abject potato. My mobo is a Crosshair VIII Hero, has 32 gb of ddr4 ram, an M2 drive and a 5600x. I guess the 4060 is just that much of a piece of shit that it can't handle 1080p.
Either it's some arcane specific combination of hardware and drivers causing the issue or something in your PC is dying
im working on it
might get a rx6600 for it if it becomes cheap again
I've got everything together just need a new gpu, my current one will do but I'm probably going to get a 4070 super
How fricked am I?
Not even trying to reach max. Medium would be nice.
i remember when people kept saying you never needed more than 8 gigs of ram
i miss those days
I'm stuck with a shitty laptop at the moment. If DD2 somehow manages to run on Steam Deck, I'm buying it - it's the only "big" modern game I would ever want to play. If not, I'm getting a proper PC.
upgraded to 4070 last summer. Hopefully its enough but seems like the game was struggling in some of those previews especially with advanced magicks.
I haven't upgraded since 2014
I get BSODs every now and then from some finicky video failure issue I haven't bothered looking into but otherwise it works
You are not playing dd2 on a 2014 pc.
I've a feeling 5600x and 6700XT won't be enough for 60fps.
At 8k maybe.
These specs, man. I don't trust them going with 30fps as the target on a 3600, it's not a great CPU but it's not terrible, something's wrong.
It's going to be the first open world game on RE engine so the CPU requirements being higher than other Capcom games is understandable. The iffy part is that there's basically no difference between minimal and recommended AMD CPU specs, the gap between 3600 and 3600X is negligible. At least on the intel side they bump it from an i5 to i7.
People were testing if they could run DD by playing the RE4re demo and seeing if there is any major problems, since its the same engine and has more or less the same requirements. Worked fine for me on my 5600x, just hope that with the amount of effects DD has and its being open world doesnt affect it too adversely.
>Completely overhauled my PC for it
I better bust a nut everytime I launch the game
Was thinking of upgrading my 3060 to a 4070 super but when they confirmed it only has 12gb of vram I gave up on it. Hopefully I can still run it on high at 1080p.
>i7-6700K
>RTX 2060
>8GB RAM
>1080p 60Hz screen
Should be able to run it.
You'll be fine.
Tekken 8 made me realize my RX5700 XT isn't going to cut it anymore. RE4make chugged at some times too during release, and just went apeshit by the time the Ada DLC came out.
The only problem is that the only other new game I'm looking at getting (besides the other ones I've mentioned) is Monster Hunter Wilds. Maybe GTA6.
My shit's only like 5 years old and I don't know when it should be appropriate to upgrade. Not really keen to spend money either, so I'm not sure what to do.
None of these games are going away. You might miss out on some FOMO garbage with GTA 6, but besides that, the games will be there whenever you have the money to upgrade your rig.
If you buy/build the current high end grade computer you don't have to worry about an upgrade in a decade. Doesn't seem like there's going to be much improvements over anything in the gaming sphere as triple A is dead.
Just you wait bucko they're going to unveil elon-monkey spinal plug virtual reality with machine learning AI NPCs in two weeks.
The twist is that this is the same NPC and hes the only one in the game with a spear.
>tavern icon on the UI
wonder if I can get drunk and flirt with my pawns as a joke but end up fricking, oops haha
Doubt anyone here cares but I found the last trailer with japanese voices.

I just remembered something. There was an inn in Gran Soren, right? I seem to remember the one back in Cassardis being much bigger in comparison.
>enter inn
>Rook goes "that's a lot of beds! :D"
I miss him so much
I hope you can hire him in DD2, even if he's not the tutorial pawn this time.
for those losing hope
This is a better view, as it has the number of vocations fade out as if there more
How many vocations could actually fit in here?
no moron, this
That could scroll though. The "change vocation" list in ddda did.
However that probably won't scroll. 10 is maybe what we get, which is sad.
>That could scroll though. The "change vocation" list in ddda did.
I am aware, that is what I am saying
Oh I'm moronic. Then yeah I agree.
But that one only showed like 3 or 4 vocation at once, right?
All this speculation is killing me...
Are you being stupid on purpose?
It's true though, you even had me confused so I went in-game just for you.
You're a funny little homosexual aren't you
Ah, you're just shitposting, got it.
says the guy who posted a DD1 screenshot when we're talking about DD2 vocations
>>That could scroll though. The "change vocation" list in ddda did.
Yes, the boxes with the capability to scroll had fadeouts similar to the one in the image, which is what I was saying in regards to the other anon, who understood that.
>10 is maybe what we get, which is sad
really? I mean, if every vocation is expanded we are already getting much more stuff than in DD1.
I'd like to at least gete 12 tho, think that'd be a nice spot between diversity and balance.
>really? I mean, if every vocation is expanded
lol
10, I've seen pics with 9 and there was still place for 1 more.
Which doesn't mean anything really.
I don't know what I'm supposed to be seeing fade out here.
the bottom line of the vocations list, implying it can scroll
souless eldenslop ui
I don't know how people b***h about graphics they look fricking good to me and I love the 2h sword running animations nice berserk guts feel to them.
I'm going to be autistic as frick in this game for 1k hours
some scenearios are kinda meh and the game has popping in some footage, but yeah the armors and weapons look fricking nice
most likely due to being played on a shitty console
us PCchads have nothing to worry about AND we get mods
all this tells me is that there's only one unannounced vocation left and that's actually pretty disappointing
It could be a scrolling list
>only 6 vocations
ohnonono
BROS?!
it's over
NYOOOOOO
>people whining about amount of vocations
>me sitting here who has only ever played warrior from PS3 to PC over 10 different saves
I try to play other vocations but I always end up coming back to simple warrior, at most I might do a reset at a start of a new save for two exp rings and get a ton of passives in 20 minutes then stick to warrior all game.
>only 1 (uno) weapon skill for Fighter
ohnonono
I'm guessing
>10 vocations on release (10th is the two-handed spear boi)
>2 vocations as MTX (sold separately)
>2 or 3 vocations included with a BBI sized DLC
They're not going to sell vocations as MTX. MAYBE as an expansion thing, but definitely not individually. Capcom is israeli, but they're not THAT israeli.
Look at what Capcom did with SF6... and now be honest with yourself. Do you *really* think capcom wouldn't try and pull something like adding vocations as MTX? There's certainly a risk of them trying it.
I'd hope that too but the reality is if the suits above him want greedy MTX, there's gonna be MTX. the first game prior to DA already had armour, weapons, cosmetics and some quests sold as mtx packs.
>trying to prop up your argument with fighting games
I accept your concussion, concession and coagulation.
>yeah im just gonna cope and completely ignore the fact its the same company behind these games that love MTX and im also going to ignore that DD1 had a load of MTX packs before DD:DA released
absolute state of this COPIUM. When the mtx packs for DD2 start releasing post-launch the next stage of the cope will be
>i... i-it d-doesnt matter!!!! j-just dont buy it!
>make scenario in your head
>others call you out
>you are coping!
homie how about we wait until those DLCs come out before chimping out
...fighting games have been selling characters for over a decade now as season pass shit. They've been doing it even longer as one of the main selling point of revision updates.
Are you actually moronic?
Taking into consideration Itsuno's position on Capcom, I'll doubt he let them tear apart his baby in that way
full fledged cope but
>10 base/advanced vocations
>an entirely different list for hybrids
is there any screenshot with any of the hybrids in the same list?
Nope
CAN I MAKE e-girl PAWNS
THIS IS ALL I CARE ABOUT
you can make 150cm (Selene sized) pawns confirmed, anything below that, we just don't know
I will cry if I don't get my 137cm e-girls
I will still play it, but I will cry, and not the good kind of tears
People that think we won't AT LEAST get an advanced yellow and advanced green are either delusional doomers or discord raiders.
What would advanced yellow be? Basic yellow is pretty much already ranger.
I don't know dude, crossbows or something? The point is there's going to be SOMETHING.
Source?
Source: It would be fricking stupid to have 4 base classes but only give two of them advanced versions.
gunslinger
Rock Thrower
dual bows
Crossbow with pavise.
Do what the Japanese have always done in these games.
Archer, but longer.
Otherwise we'll get what the Japanese Capcom devs do when denied bow, but longer. We'll get a bow, but also gun. A bowgun if you would. It might be light, but also could be heavy.
HBGmind
Just straight up the heavy bowgun from MH.
Crossbow with traps and specialty bolts.
Flintlock rifles.
You carry a fricking ballista
Like this
I meant a smaller version of this that's equippable. It would be the archer equivalent of a warrior with a claymore
Arquebus
slinger
Samurai vocation, YAY or NAY?
Doesn't fit the hardcore medieval europe aesthetic they're trying to have. But then again, mystic spearhand is already kinda failing at that, so why not?
To be fair, oriental warriors have always been a thing in fantasy since the 1600s. They just started swapping out Arabs for Central Asians and Indians, then Chinese, then Japanese as commerce more easily brought in goods from even further east.
DD2 is moving more western and northern europe though as opposed to DD1 being more Mediterranean.
However, Mystic Spearhand also looks like it's using animations from World/Iceborne insect glaive and the Archer also did the super bow shot from Monster Hunter Bow. Warrior already uses GS animations since the first game, same with Fighter and Mystic Knight using SnS animations.
Longsword will ruin DD2 just like it continues ruining MonHun and everyone will be mad when Mystic Knight shows up again but it uses Lance animations.
>longsword moveset
>not Vergil, we already got some doppleganger moves with Spearhand
>same with Fighter and Mystic Knight using SnS animations.
Now if they could remove backhop from Monhun SnS and replace it with Hindsight Sweep we will be cooking.
I want to say Dungeon Meshi and Gobbo Slayer are a given, but I think it will really come down to whatever the hell Itsuno actually likes.
If we're talking internal collabs, a MonHun and Breath of Fire crossover could be cool, with Wilds returning the favour next year.
>Dungeon Meshi and Gobbo Slayer
or those animes any good? or are they more like tranime? I'd like to watch some adventure kino before DD2 releases, but I'm very skeptical when it comes to modern stuff.
dungeon meshi is classic tranime, goblin slayer is edgy rape tranime
seems like dungeon meshi might be up my speed, looks funny
based, many thanks anon, everytime I've tried asking on Ganker they just tell me to
>goblin slayer is edgy rape anime
it even fails at that, GS doesn't know what it wants to be after the opening
shut the frick up
I'm am not far enough into either to really make a good judgement to be honest. I just know they're popular at the moment. Anyway, if in doubt, consult the chart.
Both were pretty boring. Frieren is the only good fantasy adventure anime at the moment.
>it will really come down to whatever the hell Itsuno actually likes
Macross and Gundam crossovers!
>Mystic Spearhand also looks like it's using animations from World/Iceborne insect glaive
Nope, his animations mostly ripped from Spirit Lancer vocation of DDO.
Nay
>Samurai in a European medieval setting
No.
Unlike the blacks in Poland that certain people keep trying to push, there are actually records of nip mercenaries in Europe during the Protestant Reformation.
A lot of Japanese ended up in Central Asia and Eastern Europe during various parts of the Sengoku period which is why places like Poland, Latvia, Estonia, and Romania have 15th and 16th century katana in their museums, as well as how Nobunaga era muskets ended up in Eastern Europe.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zawisza_the_Black
cope
Mmhm yes very African he is
Him being a mighty African warrior in a country of sissy femboys explains why he was the best knight in Poland
where did this meme of polish people being femboys come from? im not polish but i have been there many times in gdansk, wrocław and kraków and other small towns around the country and in my native country of norway i see polish people a lot and let me tell you, all polish men look like pinheaded balding ogres with a distinctive flatness to the back of their heads.
Wait til this guy finds about Blackbeard not being black either
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zawisza_the_Black#Name
Already confirmed.
>While my team was out there making DD2, I was studying the blade
nayest nay that's ever nay'd
it's the advanced green, ofc
i am so sick of every western medieval fantasy game having katanas and weeb shit shoehorned in. it would be nice to have just ONE game where this isn't the case.
Unlucky for you that this is a eastern-made western medieval fantasy game
okay, and? that would be like if i said its cool if they put a black troony with a rainbow flag in a western made game about medieval japan.
what a shame
Cool swords aren't black trannies though.
okay and i also think ak47's are cool and i wouldn't want it in my medieval western european game. katanas can be cool in a japanese setting, sure but it shouldn't be in a western european game just as i wouldn't want kukris, shotels, katars, etc. etc.
Guns aren't cool swords either I'm afraid
Wait til you find out Itsuno included isekai in DD2.
We've already got some light Arabian influence with the trickster.
I don't mind there being a samurai vocation as long as it does not eat into the green/red slot RESERVED for muh fencer rapier vocation.
YAY, but make it a secret vocation hidden behind a sidequest.
God i hope so. Nothing gets me harder than an Iai stance.
t. UI designer with 0 years of experience.
kek
nah but really, I might be coping but I don't see any piece of equipment being wearable by all vocations.
Even capes wouldn't fit the trickster style, for example.
In the original game, all vocation icons were always present but only the icons of vocations that could actually use were lit up and colored, the rest were dark, it seems they've changed this for DD2, so only the vocations that can use the item are actually displayed, so you might have a point here.
Would that auto-scroll?
Solved
well, that also happens with other parts of the UI like the weapon skills, so it might happen
Unlimited bow works.
What did he mean by "play"?
Can we have sexual relations with npcs now with full blown cutscenes?
They are going to walk you home gently
some anon was posting pics of a beatren with this weapon in his back wondering if it was a new vocation, right? I'm afraid that it's a Warrior weapon.
At least that lower part of her attire is quite sexo, dare I say.
That's a pretty kitty
>those pillowy thighs poking out
yeah silk thong 2 is in for sure
>Two more months
Heres where i stole the scroll bar from. Just for reference how its actually used.
>They kept carry weight
Holy based, I was worried they would remove it.
Now the most important question is would we have a theme song by Dangan
WARNING to all anons: i will never use your pawn if it is a beast race. that is all.
same
WARNING to all anons: i WILL frick your pawn and send her back to you with a golden egg if it is a female beastren. that is all.
I will only summon cat pawns.
Seen any elves? HA HA HA HA HA !
This will be my pawn.
gay
Nothing gay about two buff half naked dudes adventuring together.
When did they reveal you could have dinosaur pawns!?!?!
get rdy
A T T A C K
in a shot of the field at the very start and towards the end of the video, an NPC is holding an axe with two hands but I guess it could be a farming tool and not a usable weapon.
cba taking a screenshot just look at the very start of youtube vid, the male npc on the left raises it
It's a hoe, they also used them in first game, it's a farming tool basically.
You're a hoe!
in the video the metal bit is running parallel with the wooden handle instead of forming a T-shape at the end like in that photo, so if that's a hoe the NPC is holding it's an odd one
are you so sheltered from what happens in the real world you are incapable of recognizing one of the most basic farming tools in the world IE the hoe?
>not knowing what a fricking hoe is
autism kek
That looks different than the little fishing town we can see for a few seconds in the interview video from today. One of my biggest issues with DD was the lack of settlements, so that's really reassuring.
same, im glad they're fixing this, should help with travelling too.
Man the armour looks fricking sick in this. Its not to see a fantasy game that doesnt have ridiculous looking armours but doesnt lean all the way into realistic.
If it's anything like the first game, it will have a broad selection of realistic, fantastic realism, high fantasy, and pure bawdwear to fit all your needs. Hopefully they have a layering transmog system this time around, even if it's only post game.
>pawn going that close to water
NO DONT DO IT
SOAKED TO THE BONE
Is that a crumbled tower in the water?
>where are the colo-ACK
>transition between forest and mesa/desert biomes
Comfy as FRICK. I think im really gonna like this area.
butterfly bros, we're eating good.
>immediately thinks of picking it up and mixing it with some flowers to make a potion
Skyrim gave me brain rot
Enough with the goddam interviews and news articles! We're already buying the game! Stop spoiling everything!
>spoiling
If you combine the entirety of the IGN interviews and articles the only shit we actually learned that could be considered spoilers is a couple of trickster moves, the fact that the sphinx has riddles and is optional, and a couple of areas shown for a couple seconds. Most of it has just been them talking about design and direction ideas.
They're not even showing anything, really. No, for the real spoilers you gotta wait for the February trailer that's definitely coming and will spoil the other 27 vocations and reveal the moon endgame.
Other than the Talos fight I don't think they've shown much that isn't like within 10 minutes of the main city
It's like the fricking Kid Icarus Uprising marketing where they just showed the same 3 levels over and over
>trickster is a Purple/Pink hybrid class
whuh
it's such a weird choice, they could've just made it full pink or full purple, instead they have to bait us like this
it's a prank, a trick you might say
>Dark Purple is Red+Blue
>Bright Pink is Red+White
listen homie, I just don't know
What would a white class be?
actually, it's like this
>Left side: 2 parts blue, 1 part red
>Right side: 1 part blue, 1 part red
which means... uuuh
The 1st game had a Berserk crossover.
Could the 2nd one also have anime content?
easy
Goburinu Suraya could be a solid contender.
its perfect
>priestess mage
>fighter goblin slayer
>elf archer archer
>dwarf shaman for the trickster class
>lancer for the magic lancer
>the sexy witch for the sourcerer
>guts 2.0 for warrior
I could honestly see it since it has an anime right now. Although by the time collab time comes around it will already be over so maybe not. I'd love a witch hat crossover since that's supposed to get an anime eventually, although there's basically zero chance of that.
Recent and upcoming fantasy off the top of my head
>Dungeon Meshi
>Goblin Slayer
>Frieren
>Spice & Wolf
and they'd all be solid contenders
Konosuba coming out in april too. Might not really fit the tone but I hope I can at least collect all the girls as pawns again.
I hope we can get a big pointy witch hat
we're getting big hats
hell yeah
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAH BABY!!!
sauce?
Witch Hat Atelier
thanks anon, that artwork is gorgeous, wish i knew how to make nice patterns and decorations like that.
In terms of visuals it's probably my favorite ongoing manga. The only one that comes close is like Made in Abyss.
man, drawing clothing like that is not easy, everytihng about that panel is amazing, ill have to read this for the setting and art.
Hope you like it. It's pretty slow paced which turns some people off.
I love slow paced stories, japan tends to nail them really well, id say.
My favorite movie is Maborosi and thats a slow uneventful film.
Gay trash manga
shame the mangaka is a leftist b***h and the manga is pozzed to all frick now
She's somewhat tumblresque and it shows yeah, but it's not that bad. The worst offender was probably the weinstein wizard chapter.
anons, isn't it obvious now that DD has higher billing and a history of running multiple seasonal crossovers during Dragon's Dogma Online?
choose A L L
I sure hope so, although it might be different considering DDO was only marketed to japanese audiences.
I hope the world has a shit ton to discover, like skyrim. If it's just as barren as the original but at 4 times the size then so help me god.
Itsuno has been saying some Todd tier shit.
AFAIK he has never pulled a Molyneux before, so I'm currently trusting him, hopefully the game delivers, but my bullshit detector is beeping.
>Itsuno has been saying some Todd tier shit.
Like what?
it's just concern trolling.
I just want Monk.
I just want a Beast Master.
Same
Can't wait until the male merchant I do nothing but buy and sell from kills my waifu because the game thinks I want to frick him
>romance Symone
>Fournival murders her out of jealousy
beastren are ugly
They are. And I'm going to pet them anyway.
Do you think the female max "voice actor" is aware of how many jimmies she rustled?
I do find it amusing how it was more often than not her pawn getting into bad situations or messing up
probably not
New cover art looks Great
kino of the ages
what a comfy thread, thanks anons.
58 days to go, don't die on me now homies.
Jared, we discussed this over the last 3 weekly team meetings on Zoom; your Capcom marketing materials cannot contain racial slurs. We can influence this website without having to perpetuate harmful language.
Dragons & Dogmas
Dangans and Dongmas
>remove assassin and MK
>give us trickster and archer instead
Its just a terrible trade its not even funny
i dont know
the lance one looks fantastic
strider was my favorite but it was TOO op to be a starting vocation
im sure they made it a green yellow mix in DD2
> im sure they made it a green yellow mix in DD2
Functionally impossible, you cant carry 2 weapons in DD2.
one of these things is not like the others
Just a stylization. There is no orange.
but
hear me out now
what if the difernt colors are on itself the mixtures
spear is the mixture of fighter and archer,
yellow and red make orange
blue and red make purple
red and pink make pink
SECRET WHITE VOCATON CONFIRMED
assassin
This hurts, but at the very least Fighter will probably be picking up most of Assassin's Shield and Sword Skills, or having them worked into Core Skills, which will make for a very fun Fighter.
great more weg shit disguised as an rpg
huh?
Good morning mitsukiESTROGEN.
same person?
>mitsuki is a healbawd
so does he play MMOs? the game isnt co-op, is that why he's so pissed at DD2?
But can you frick your pawns
Woah. Will we be able to climb a giant Ulrikas boobs or something?
A forehead you could build a castle on
>You look like a good arisen
>that dust
must have eaten a lot of griffins last night
I wonder how hard it will be to find all the hidden vocations.
Colorgays have been so utterly buckbroken by trickster kek
literally how, all it's done is fuel hyped speculation about how it all fits together, or IF it fits together, the implications of all the colors mixing or some not mixing and what left field things can emerge from segregation of color combos or even the doomposter scenario of hybrids with no donor colors, meaning anything fricking goes like in DDO?
Why do you shazamBlack folk think that saying the opposite of true things will do anything but demean yourselves, even worse than collectively playing and enjoying Horizon: Zero Dawn and The Last of Us ever could have?
Virgil with a gigantic V will be in the center
Post yfw maxing every vocation unlocks the ADVANCED HYBRID with all SIX COLORS
>oh shit we are almost there
>suddenly remember that every new release is broken on the release and that games are not finished at least a year after they are released
>feelsdepresed.jpg
If it's a buggy mess just enjoy the memes and don't do something moronic like take a day off work to play the game on launch. And hey, it might no be broken.
I'll wait for a Harem mod before buying then.
it still has that annoying minimalistic design with squares, rows and grinds
Honestly I prefer this to 1's inventory. As much as I love 1 its inventory is probably the worst aspect of it.
J-Rock opening where?
I have a feeling this game is going to blow up just because Japan's in an elf Renaissance right now.
I'm excited and sad for March 22nd because it looks like DD2 is going to be the last "real" old school video game in a long while...
KCD2 this autumn. Believe.
>bought out by Embracer who needs it to sell Cyberpunk-tier numbers
abandon all hope
out by Embracer
it's fricking over
>It's true
FRICKING KILL ME
>abandon all hope
Have hope. Jesus Christ be praised.
well you can have hope for other things but not KCD2
No I don't believe you. That's too good to be true. And even if it is, there's no way they get away with not having any absurd ~~*diversity*~~ twice
is this frick going to make dmc6 after dd2?
I think he wants to make a power stone remake after DD2
he wants to hand DMC off to a new generation, but it doesn't really seem like anyone's ready to take it over
>DD2 ends with you going to the moon
So where do we go at the end of DD3? Uranus?
Does anyone have the screencap of the pinned thread when dd2 got announced? Showing despair posts turn into hype posts?
DMCV.5 looking good
why is the brine still a fricking thing in this game
Should i replay Dragon's Dogma again?
How much of the world geometry and texture assets do you think they're going to be recycling between MH and Wilds?
I don't mean this in a bad way by the way. I think it's probably a smart idea to make high quality assets they can share among their games rather than half ass new ones for every game.
Haven't checked on my DD1 pawn since 2014, i wonder if anyone else ever picked him.
who cares if its ends up being only 6 or if it ends up being more
most of us are still gonna play it regardless
The first game was literally a 6 and I played the frick out of it
>6
Come on anon, we all know it's the best 7/10 game in existence.
I hope you anons know that haven't played the first one, it won't be a pretty looking game, it won't be perfectly polished and it will look rough in many areas but it will be absolutely full of charm and adventure.
If you can get past the grim medieval aspect of the game, and see what it is flaws and all I promise you, it'll be a game worth your time.
They're Master Works all you can't go wrong.
>be me, 2d artist working for capcom
>Finally got picked for DD2 team
>One morning, drawing icon for the 108th vocation
>3 hours in, can't get the border right
>Hideaki-san suddenly appeared in the room, next to a crystal jammed in the floor
>"Have you ever wonder how the character feel when facing danger?"
>No sir.psd
>"Good"
>He pulled out a shiny stone and threw it in the air
>I got blinded by a flash of light
>Open my eye. Me and 3 other guys in the office are now in a middle of nowhere
>Hideaki-san now wearing a trench coat and holding a katana dress us up in steel plate armor and wizard themed robe
>"Let's get this party started"
>He pull out the phone and turn on "end of the struggle"
>A pack of wolves appear and rushing toward us
>We fight for 20 minutes, a guy even got dragged away by one of the wolf, luckily i got to him in time
>The last wolf run away, we breathe out, relief that it's over
>A loud howling could be hear
>It from a white wolf in the distance, it's at least 5 times bigger than normal wolves we just fought
>It rush toward us, i got my shield up just in time but can't stop it and got send flying
>Suddenly it got dark, Hideaki-san unsheath the sword and disappear
>The wolf is now frozen in space, hovering without anything holding it
>A flash go by, sound of sword cutting the wind can be hear
>Hideaki-san reappear and sheathing his sword slowly
>As he completely sheathe the sword in scabbard, white wolf drop on the ground spraying blood everywhere
>After that, Hideaki-san brought us back to the office
>In afternoon, Hideaki-san come in through the door and ask us about progression
>I finally complete the border for the 108th vocation
>He smile and go out, in the next room. The 3d model guys, they are stuck on some chainmail armor textures
>I can hear him ask "have you ever wonder how character feel when standing on top of the snowy mountain in a blizzard"
>I don't meet them until 1 week later
