Question about the lore
What is the point of the eternal cycle? Why cant the Seneschal just stay in its place instead of sending the Dragon who chooses an Arisen, what exactly is he/she doing with its position? Dude talks about the position like a necessity and something very noble while at the same time making it sounds like a curse. Did I do something wrong to the world/existence by killing myself?
I think the point is that the senechal slowly burns out. Either literally, in terms of his energy or whatever, or just mentally in terms of his will. I mean a big part of the test for becoming one is testing the arisen's will and character.

Not lore related but imagine if this time when you become Senechal it turns into a kind of sandbox play mode instead of just running around in two towns.

The seneschal really isn't the kind of god that meddles in things though, I think literally the only action we ever see a seneschal take is spawn the dragon to kick the selection process into gear.

Seneschal would probably be able to keep his willpower and stave off the cycle if he could actually be a part of the world though. The whole point is that being seneschal is an awful soul sucking (possibly literally) and thankless task but one that is necessary to keep the world going.

Imagine doing the same thing, not interacting with anyone, for thousands of years. Eventually you start to lose willpower to go on. And with that, the people and the world beneath you follow suit.
Is the story relevant in this game? I haven't played DDDA, should I skip it and play DD2?
DD2 is basically going to be an alternate universe it seems. The way the world of DD functions is that there are parallel worlds, in DD1 every player's world is supposed to be just one parallel world in the same universe, which is why you can share pawns between players (there was more stuff planned for it too, pic related).
You don't need to play DD1 to get the story of 2, but I mean I'd still recommend trying it. You can find keys for it for pennies, or just pirate it.
I just don't want to try it since people say it's not as good, and it would be even more irrelevant since DD2 release which I think will be better in every way.
I guess that's one way of looking at it, but at the same time you might have a harder time going back to DD1 after playing 2 if you ever want to.

Normalsgays won't like the lack of iframe dodge centric gameplay or the lack of handholding, or the complete lack of coop. The other half is that every interaction and supposed relationship is incredibly shallow because there's nothing concrete there for characterization or personality. It seems to be a skill, right? I see the dodge and then the same sort of forward slash, and on the second roll, you can see the same effect that happens with a perfect block? The player flashes blue and sparks go off... Weird.
To me it seems like some new version of something like Hindsight Sweep, successfully dodge/i-frame an attack and get a follow-up with bonus damage.
Fighter had a few i-frame moves in the first game but this one seems to have a bit more mobility.

I havent watched anything on the game besides clips. I'm replaying DDDA now. Going to try and go for 100%. I just finished the early ogre. Is there anything I need to look out for early game in order to get 100%? I got d8input, don't blind me and one or two visual mods. Are there any good mods that help for a better or different experience? Since I've already beaten it once I'd like to try some cool shit out. I saw the greatsword max but it looks TOO strong. Fun but I feel like I'd just mow shit down too quickly.
If by 100% you mean doing all the quests, look up the quests page on the wiki so you don't progress the stage to far and autofail some quests
It's impossible to get 100% without a guide because there are so many missable quests. Following the guide takes out a lot of the fun though, you'll be playing the entire game like a checklist. I wouldn't worry about it on your first playthough. You can get any quests you've missed on NG+, which you can speed through easily since you'll have all your equipment and post crystals set up.

There are no advanced vocations. Warrior is not Advanced Fighter, it's just a different vocation that fills a different niche.
Sorcerer can't even use Mage's support spells. Because Mage fills the support niche, Sorcerer fills the dps niche. You can play as either until the end of the game.
This is why there will be only 9 (unique) vocations, without advanced thief or anything else.

I can't imagine them adding a weird vocation like trickster when you still have so many regular class ideas remaining: bard, swordmaster, crossbowman, summoner/beast master, cleric, and so on. regardless of color or basic/advanced/hybrid autism, my gut tells me there just has to be more. I still don't really understand what a pawn is in the context of the lore. Or how you can create them and summon them. In fact, I don't really understand the lore at all. And I finished the game and read everything.
The pawns are the primary reason the game was made (BBS RPG) so I don't think they are really baked into the lore like everything else is.
That said there is additonal lore outside the game, which basically reinforces the idea they're weird tulpas/spirit animal type entities that are formed based on the desires of the Arisen. They're basically molded from a formless thing beyond the rift, either they're concious beings who take on the form the Arisen gives them, or they cease to be sentient until the Arisen makes one.
Many pawns will resemble people the Arisen loved or respected, or might embody some kind of ideal the Arisen aspires to. Pawns then get a sort of weird feedback loop from the Arisen and then become more like them over time.
There's a fun conspiracy theory that the Pawns are basically "hiding in plain sight" and the Pawn Legion is in fact the actual divine power within the universe. In that sense, Pawns are observers for the Arisen, not merely assistants.

More action than story focused. It's hard to say how much of a role the story will play since DD1 was rushed and a lot of stuff was cut, probably including story stuff, so we can't really use it as a basis for how central the story will be in DD2.

All of the ER endings are easily achieved. Ranni is especially easy to do, if you explore. By the time I went to the capitol, I had pretty much done everything there was to do in everything you can do before that.

100% for achievements. I never got around to BBI when I played through last time. So now I figured I might as well attempt to do everything. I haven't done the hydra boss yet. I picked up all the quest in the first camp and just got done proving my worth to be arisen. I'm pretty sure the hydra fight is next. I'll go on the wiki for the guide when I'm home. Any combat mod with new moves or whatever it may be, names are fine but I'll kiss you for a link. I played a bit of the DDO private sever and live service a few days before it ended. So new shit would make this more fun but being too strong makes some mods really boring.
